Some fun facts: The use of Goldeen instead of Magikarp in Smash was a reference to the second (maybe third, I don't remember) episode of the anime where Misty picks up a random Pokeball in the Center to fight Team Rocket and it happened to have a Goldeen inside it. Also, in the case of Electrode, there's a small chance of pulling out a "dud", meaning Electrode won't immediately explode and kind of dud out for a few seconds before turning red again and finally exploding. Not sure if people knew this, but I still wanted to share just in case. Also apparently, as I'm looking at it, Melee used Stadium models for their Pokemon it looks like. I never played Melee, so I really didn't know this.

You never knew true terror in a video game until Fletchling came out of your opponent’s pokeball in Smash 4.

Anybody feel like the Master Ball’s inclusion in Smash 4 kinda ruin the hype and excitement of unleashing a Legendary? Sure you’ll know for sure it’s a legendary but I gotta admit discovering them in regular Pokéballs was more hype since you would never see it coming. Also my favorite has got to be Manaphy and it’s Heart Swap move, it’s a shame they cut it after Brawl.

For those who didn't expect Ditto in Melee They're an unused/scrapped Pokemon which can be accessed in debug mode (I think its called) I believe they would've transformed into the same character as either the player or the opponent and have the same move set (like a computer). Like his recent appearance

Something interesting I realized by watching this video is the way the Smash devs are able to implement so many Pokemon for each game. To put it simply, they simply reuse models from the latest console/3D Pokemon game at the time. Melee Pokemon reuse models from Stadium 2 and Snap (the unused Ditto model is a dead giveaway). Brawl Pokemon reuse models from Battle Revolution. SSB4 and Ultimate reuse models from 3D Pro and the mainline 3DS games (you can tell easily from Gardevoir's walking animation).

Didn't know they added Abra to the roster. Having it use Teleport is pretty cool.

I always wanted them to add Shedinja in the later games and have its gimmick be it just acts as a small, avoidable, floating obstacle but touching it will insta-kill you.

I think Goldeen's overall behavior is meant to be a reference to her introduction to the Pokémon anime, but I collectively agree with many others that the completely useless spot should go to Magikarp

(Idk if I’m spellin’ it right) but weavle was so annoying in brawl when summoned. And it was super common to get, so you’d just hear about 2-3 “weav-, weav- weav-“ while bein’ stun locked in the middle of them. We played with poke balls all the time though, so I had it comin’ ig lol I also really miss when the audience would gasp at a legendary Pokémon coming out, but I get why it’s not used today because of master balls.

Questioning how many times you send out a Legendary Pokémon during Brawl and earlier Since those games don’t have the Master ball item.

I wished that gen 3, gen 5, and gen 8 get fighter reps along with possibly gen 9 and gen 10 for next smash game/ possibly smash ultimate. For each of those missing gen such as gen 3 rep with Gardevoir, gen 5 rep with Krookodile, gen 8 rep with either Rillaboom for fully evolved grass starter or possibly Meowscarada/fully evolved grass starter of gen 10.

The only wish I wish they’d bring back were definitely Porygon2 and Unown. Yeah Unown is the annoying swarmer, but no other Pokemon I felt played that role better. Also, hopefully the next Smash game has some Paldea Pokemon, because I’d LOVE me an Espathra or Maushold in the Pokeballs.
