Kirby basically has limitless potential. If kirby can inhale them than he basically is the most powerful character in smash bros. Also in kirby and the amazing mirror kirby gets the smash power up which gives him his smash bros moves.

I still feel like Kirby’s missing something. With the amount of abilities he’s used over the years, it’s disappointing that most of his moves are still generic hand and foot attacks. I’d love to see him designed like megaman where all his normals are a different kind of copy ability based attack. An example would be his nair. Instead of just spinning around, he could transform into a wheel first and then spin. Edit: I feel kind of the same way about a lot of characters from 64 and melee. Link for example, should use more botw based abilities to represent the modern Zelda era. Revali’s gale for up b, stasis for side b, there’s so many items and abilities from botw to make up a more fleshed out moveset.

Finally, someone gets it right when it comes to Kirby final smash. The other RU-vidrs just keep using his super sword footage on the first level.

It's amazing how Sakurai puts every detail of the characters in Smash, that man does a really good job.

I think his idle animation might be from dream course as well: When you are at low health, he will droop for a second before taking his turn.

Fun fact: Yo-Yo's Break Spin was also Kirby's dash attack in Brawl and Sm4sh.

At 7:49, the actual reason for yellow Kirby was because the co-director wanted Kirby to be yellow but he turned out to be pink instead. Though, yellow is the default color of any player-two Kirby in games with multiplayer. At 8:05, blue Kirby is also the default player-three Kirby in multiplayer Kirby games. At 9:05, 'sunburnt' Kirby is from the color he changes to when he gains an ability in an early Kirby game before they created hats for Kirby. Plus he's not even orange. Though, everything else in this video was surprisingly accurate.

Fun fact In kirby's adventure there wasn't any costumes so kirby has a little color change in every ability so the costume origins were in kirby's adventure (Mostly all of them)

Imagine if they did this for Ganondorf. It would almost all be clips from older smash games.

I feel like Kirby’s moveset is way more clever than people give it credit for. Maybe it could be given more, but it’s still really good references. I mean, basing a ton of his moveset of the Fighter ability is a really good fit for smash.

It's worth noting that Amazing Mirror came out after Melee. So some of Kirby's moves originated in Smash and were put into the main series as an homage.

Kirby's front and back throws come from Kirby's Adventure with the Backdrop Ability(the origin of Suplex). I also believe his blue color comes from that game, since he was already blue and had no crown when using Ice or Freeze.

Kirby's forward air and up air both predate Amazing Mirror, so it's actually the other way around in terms of what's referencing what.

Fun Fact: Kirby's old dash attack, the one where he spins on his head is a reference to the yo-yo copy ability.

One thing I really wish they did is kept his aerial side b from Melee and just improved the move some more by giving it a strong final hit

It's INSANE how all of Kirby's animations actually come from a Kirby game and are not just smash originals

I'd add some stuff about Kirby's animations. When Kirby copies Bowser's neutral b, the pose he does when throwing fire is the same that he does when he attacks with the fire power in Kirby's games. There are some other like that. Maybe you can do some more stuff with that ;)

Kirby in Smash Bros VS Kirby in his own games: a comparison *Attack buttons in Kirby games include B, Y and 1, depending on the game. Right here I'm using the controls of Star Allies, the latest mainline Kirby game. *So far I've only worked on the special attacks and final smash. The forward air and up air aren't based on anything. Those moves originated in Melee, which came out before the games you showed here.

They should make kirby used his copy-sword air attack for his neutral-air in smash. Maybe for down-smash he could use his copy-spike ability. I hope in the next Smash they make more of his attacks based off his games copy abilities, kinda like how they made Megaman's moveset.
