This 3v3 style would actually be really interesting to see in competitive smash with items off and legal stages

honestly this looks really cool for a competitive play. It's not doubles, but actually a team strike. Seeing gameplay "occasionally" fight around smash ball does actually make it a pretty interesting, such as in the bit where shiek took the risk to get it, but ended up dying as a result. The biggest issue with the smash ball i feel, isn't the item itself, but the super large imbalance between all the final smashes...

Even though these have items I still can’t help but feel hype for some of these matches

To all those people who are getting butthurt that this ONE smash tournament uses items & stage morph, while literally all other tournaments have no items, Stop. Please, for the love of god, stop complaining about a single tournament that doesn't have the rules you like. Go watch a different smash tournament if you get salty about items being on. Nintendo turned items on for their tournament for a reason. Items are a huge defining feature of Smash.

There can be different types of tournaments, guys. Not every tournament has to be no items, not have stage morph, etc. That's what makes Smash so unique and special.

When you see the comments, I think most of the people think Super Smash Bros is a game which only uses for competitions. I don't think there is any problem to use items (well low items), because this game is made for fun, for all people who truly likes this game which is not just for strict competitions always, and this is actually what Sakurai wants to see when he starts the project of Super Smash Bros.

This tournament wasn’t too bad; it’s not perfect, nothing is but it shows what the game is at its core, showing off the features and stuff. It doesn’t have to follow traditional rules. Also it’s more intriguing for onlookers, which it what you want, it catches the eyes more.

Notice how often items are just thrown off the stage? The players don't want them, Nintendo.

God dang! Who knew watching top players play with items can be quite entertaining! Adds a little twist, strategy and luck in the mix. Seeing this actually doesn't make me mind having Nintendo set up tournaments like this. Besides, we also got Evo for the bigger meatier stuff that most of us watch. If anything, what Nintendo is doing is easing in new players to the competitive scene and helping them have a taste of what it can be like if those new players decide to take it a step further.

Kabuking for smash Down B: jumps on the spinning umbrella and moves side to side (like sally stageplay's final phase in Cuphead) Up B: hands blast the floor and propels him up Side A: shoots his hand out like a rocket Side B: stuns opponents with inspirit A: regular punches and stabs with umbrella Side A: he poses and launches 3 heat seeking umbrellas Down smash: minochi and mochismo appear next to him and they both trip and fall slamming anyone near him Side smash : (go nuts) Up smash: (Go nuts) B: puts out his umbrella and picks 1 out of 3 elemental attacks /a fire ball that falls from the sky and does slight damage over time/ wind that pushes back players/ and ice appears from the ground impaling them (these all do small damage) Final Smash: he turns big and whips his hair 3 times whoever gets stuck they appear on the Kai-buki theater (they look confused like falcon’s final) then the soultamate text appears and blossoms and wind thrash and whip them Stage: Kai-buki theatre

Pit look awesome in this game. This is too much to ask from Nintendo but we need Kid Icarus game for Switch.

Here from watching VODs of the hardcore competitive scene, and I gotta say: this looks more like Smash Bros with items on. Makes me remember why I loved the game in the first place... Unfortunately, I can't fully respect the victory.
