BOUNUS TIP: Try to keep your shoots to well lit locations, the low light capabilities aren’t great in this phone. Also, ALWAYS remember to lock your focus & exposure before each shot, this will help your shots look much more professional.
Steve, your videos are absolutely excellent. The tips, reviews and concepts are just great and the style with which you deliver them is so empowering to the rest of us!! Many many thanks.
Always great learning from you. I did do a video shoot of my showroom on the 11. It has really come out very smooth and crispy. And image stabilisation on the video is really amazing
Thanks for a super helpful video! I'm about to inherit an iPhone 11 (quite an upgrade from my current 8), and we're headed to Disney World! Really looking to up my video skills.
Your videos are amazing. Thanks for your service, much appreciated. Btw my note 9 has focus lock, that acts somehow as you mentioned in this video, it does a pretty decent job.
Not necessarily, with the right technique it is possible to get handheld shots that look like they’ve been shot with a gimbal. I’m currently working on a ‘Gimbal VS Handheld Shots’ video, I’m curious to see who can spot the difference.
Thank you Steve my guy absolutely love your videos. Thanks for helping us up my game. As a business i'm learning so I can take great product advertisements
Steve, great video! You've got such a good eye for stunning footage! I've got a little channel about making smartphone videos. I'm a newby, Your channel is a great mentor for me. Thanks for sharing your hard work! :)
Thanks Greg Renstrom, I’ve just checked out your channel and have subscribed. Great work! I love your video about Gimbal VS handheld, I’ve got a similar video coming out soon 👌🎥

Hi Steve , i have seen that you are editing with cut pro which is only for apple, what is your recommendation for windows and for beginners? Thanks a lot
If ever I’m editing on a pc then I use ‘Adobe CC’ (adobe premiere pro). This is subscription based though (about $30 pm). I would star using free software first and see if you enjoy it. Hit film express is free and I believe is available for pc 💻👍
Wow, that cellphone is nice, sir, the clarity of his camera is really nice, sir, I hope Vlog is just that, I just really don't have the money to buy that phone, it's super expensive, because hehe, I also Vlog sir, but your cellphone camera is not good I just mocked but I still vlog to make money sir. Thanks for sharing more you know sir💖💖💖💖💖💖
hi loved your info, curious i have an 11 and i was shooting an art info video of myself talking. when i enlarged the video my face closest looks blurry-clear the sides are very pixelated, it that what you meant about resolution? if not any suggestions. i used 3 lights, soft settings. it’s terrible. also i have darker skin.
Smartphones always struggle in low light situations, this will create blurry/grainy looking images. Use plenty of light and if you can then shoot in a high resolution (4K), this will use up lots more memory though so be careful. With these to tips combined you should capture crisper looking footage 👍
Steve, you always give me great tips for my videos. I shoot all mine on a Samsung s10+, ive just started a youtube channel a week ago, my next video is on Saturday, would love some feedback/suggestions.
Hi MBarkerFilms, I just checked out your channel and although you only have 3 videos I see huge potential from you! I watched your latest video and I really liked the music, pacing and ‘adventurous’ feel you created. My recommendation and tips would be to maybe focus a little more on the storytelling aspect of your video, I noticed you traveled with a friend so it would be nice to include some natural audio and talking from you both (this would really help with the narrative). Also, remember to try and keep each shot motivated and intentional. Great work though, keep going and don’t stop👌🎥
Thank you so much, i really appreciate the feedback, i will remember to get some narrative on the go when we go out filming again, whenever that will be. Thanks again, looking forward to your next video!
Hey DC Fitness, the iPhone 11 Pro is better as it has an extra lens (the telephoto) however I didn’t think I would use it enough to justify the additional cost.
Making video by iphone is not a big task, making video by any medium range smartphone is main task, so please make video on how to make video by simple smartphone
Already done this my friend, check out this video about how to shoot cinematic footage with a crappy old phone: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KPPL72QtV-k.html hope it helps
Almost your videos got my ass hotter and hotter to just seat, then I started to think adding up my gear initially from electronic gimbal and rode mic. Could you suggest me what brand and model od gimbal + what type of rode mic suits to my Samsung A8+ (2018) since I love this cellphone capability to shoot video. FYI, I am trying to film any tourist destination to be a short film episodes for people getting a virtual tour in Bali island nowdays. Please help me to suggest and decide, Steve. Thanking you in advance.
Hey Zera, if you have an older iPhone (or another phone) then I recommend getting an attachable lens (a wide angle lens), this will really help your footage look more dramatic. The image stabilisation in older iPhones is actually pretty good, not as good...but still good enough to get smooth handheld shots. Hope this helps.
Firstly , there is no evidence that these clips were taken with a mobile camera, of any kind Secondly , no mobile camera can shoot such shots without shaking the image and without the help of a gambil !!!
Hey Kamel Kamel, I’m confused. What do you mean there is ‘No evidence to show that these clips were taken with a mobile camera?’. You mean apart from all the behind the scenes footage showing me shoot using the phone? Also, you say no mobile camera can shoot such shots? A phone most certainly can....the iPhone 11, that was the whole point of this tutorial. Are you sure you watched the right video?
