If you use a bunch of Acreus’s or Zacian’s, people usually predict those type of Pokémon and usually would have a counter for them. I always figured legendaries (or at least a full team of them) are sorta bad choices

@@FatherManus Pressure is an ability which reduces the PP of an opponent's move by +1. So, if you use Sucker Punch against a Pressure mon, you lose 2 of Sucker Punch's PP instead of 1. Yet, Pressure doesn't work on your opponent's self-targeting moves. Moves like Shell Smash, Recover and Haze are good examples of Pressure immune moves.

You know you are really bad at Pokemon when you have to resort to Legendary spamming just to try and have a good pokemon team, especially with either a majority of your team or your entire team just being one legendary pokemon.

As someone who doesn't know much about the competitive pokemon scene, I feel like most truly optimized teams should consist of legendaries, pseudo-legendaries, etc. Is that wrong?

@@64MilestotheGallon Well, as far as I'm aware there are certain moves that can be incredibly powerful and have their own mechanics that can beat legendaries, it's a lot more nuanced than type advantage and spamming legendaries and you probably shouldn't have them all over your team lmao

You then come along a guy like tempt who has effects or moves that weaken you or strengthen him (eg sticky Web, defiant strats etc), then suddenly the legendary and its huge power is actually weaker. Most of the time the actual game breakers are the support pokemon. They are what control the battle so you can just click legendaries big button to win.

When I first got my first Pokémon game (Sapphire), we also had the Colosseum Bonus Disk. So I got Jirachi as my second Pokémon, but I treated it as my first because I just loved the dang thing! It was my favorite Pokémon, and I still treasure it to this day!

I personally like to use 1 legendary Pokémon per team never more because I don’t want to look like players like rustletown

I still love using Dialga mainly because it's the first legendary I ever got as a kid (started with og Diamond) but in general I don't like using Legendaries because it feels like a cop out. In Alpha Sapphire half my team is Legendaries and when it offered me to catch Deoxys I was like, "nah mate. No thanks. Here Deoxys, a PokeToy have fun".

Nothing wrong with using legendaries in the tiers their allowed in. Though i do agree on the fact that cool strats with near "useless" Pokemon can be cool

@@seal8667 I got interested so I checked, assuming max ATK IV/EV Empoleon with +ATK nature (since he's running Defiant I figure that's likely) against a typical defensive Skarmory, +4 Max Geyser is guaranteed OHKO after stealth rock. The crit would have overkilled it by 30% even with no sneaky pebbles. Since we didn't see Empoleon use a water move other than Max Geyser, I took a guess that the water move being used was Waterfall, since it and Aqua Jet are the only physical Water moves Empoleon learns. If it was Aqua Jet, then it needed the crit to OHKO after Stealth Rock.
