TheRealDerohneNick with Vigilance you can win the game cant you just keep attacking with it and you can block it untill your next turn attack again and block again im confused sorry
Kris Valle this is the simplest tutorial ive ever seen... if your new to tabletop/card games you're in for a shock this isnt a quater as difficult to learn as others
Ok so Toms turn was first and i know everything you guys did was on point but why did he draw a mana card if he wasent allowed to on his first turn he drew
I just want to reply to this bc I really really agree. I’ve been trying to learn on my own and this video answered a lot of questions I couldn’t find answers too. Thank you🙏🏻
Yeah. It's also been the most popular card game on the market (beating out even hearthstone in popularity.) since it originally came out. Well, I take that back, the Star Wars CCG has been more popular than it in the far past (around 1999 and 2000 or was when the SW CCG was more popular) That said, even though it's the most popular, it only became the best selling a few years back when they started releasing what I like to call "super ultra mega special super awesome special cards" that you'll only get in every 100+ card packs. (Yu-gi-oh, was the best selling card game, incase you were wondering)
Chavier_ no no, not like they are functionally different games, would be better compared to Force of Will or Hearthstone, you know. Card games that actually share similarities...
I've been playing since the first Innistrad and this has been one of the better tutorials I've seen. It doesn't over load the newer players with rulings and in explains the actual basics of the game. Good job guys, will direct new players to this video for sure.
If only I had friends to play it with. :) Probably better for my wallet that I don't, though. I'm just waiting for my son to be old enough to play pokemon cards with me, hope I have the money for it by then. :p
How to play Magic the Gathering Turn 1: Play an island. Turn 2: Play a second island Tap both islands Cast Storm Crow Win the game (If you get into magic get used to hearing that joke)
Yeah I've been playing the game since I was 6 (I'm 17 now for reference) and the only reason I watched this was because I enjoy videos with Lewis in them (the guy to the left) Although I agree, this is a great tutorial :D
Thank you sooo much for this😊 My older brother recently got me some cards and arranged a deck for me. He tried to teach me but I didn't really understand. This helped.
Thank you guys so much! I really appreciate this video! I started Magic a few weeks ago and I was completely clueless. I opened 4 bundle boxes x2 Ixalan, x1 Amonkhet and x1 Hour of Devastation and didn't know what I pulled. Now I have a much better idea! Since I have Vraska planes walker and vraska's contempt and deadeye trackers, I will make a green black pirate deck! I also got Carnage Tyrant, Ripjaw Raptors and Fericodon so I will make a green red deck. :)
Tysm for this very easy tutorial to follow! I am a yugioh player but the comic shops near me DO NOT host yugioh tournaments but they host magic the gathering tournaments so I came here to learn how to play magic the gathering tysm and keep up the good work!!!
Wish I could give two thumbs up. I have watched several videos just to understand how to start a game... this is the best one so far. Thanks fellas and the team who helped produce this.
Curve is more important if you play seriously though or when you're just starting out. By the end of my MTG playing (it's too expensive for me to keep up with now so I went cold turkey and sold all my cards), I was playing an 80 card green deck focused on landfall (abilities activated by playing a land card), elves, and big beasts/tokens. the elves were used to draw more lands, to the point where I could have 10 by turn 3 in really lucky games, and then just playing the biggest nastiest wurms, behemoths, etc as well as four Howl of the Night Pack (summon one wolf token creature for every land you control), which gets pretty ridiculous when you combine it with Coat of Arms (+1/+1 for each creature you control of the same type, so if you have 10 1/1 wolf tokens they become 11/11). Of course, this was out of tournament play and was more casual "see this bullshit deck I made?" style gameplay, but i think it's important to play the game in different formats if you want to keep it fresh.
yeah, this game's stupidly expensive. I stopped playing after I got into online card games (Eternal is the best card game I've ever played. Some of my friends work with the company that made it, and the game is great - it's ALOT like a modernized MTG made for online play)
As someone who has never played Magic and has played a couple of hours on Hearthstone, I am compelled to say that Hearthstone ripped off Magic after watching this simple but quite informative video.
Yu-Gi-Oh doesn't have such summoning sickness, the graveyard is a 2nd deck that has effects from monsters that was sent to there. Traps/spells have different effects while some monsters has effects while many are used for ritual/special/synchro/xyz/tribute/link summoning a.
But wait, if you attack your opponent and let’s say your creature attackings power is 4/2 and the opponents blocker is 3/1. Your creature will kill your opponents defender but will it deal 3 damage to your opponent since 1-4=-3 so your creatures power would go through the defender and to your opponenent?
If you've never played this game, do yourself a favor and run. It will suck up your life and money and you'll be left giving hand jobs for booster packs. I escaped, barely, but many of my friends never did. You can find them, glaze eyed, outside the local game store waiting for the new sets with their paychecks in hand.
Useful information but maybe a little less mocking of the people who don’t know how to play that’s the reason why they clicked this video in the first place ! Just saying. Hurt Feelings ):
I have a few questions What is the maximum number of cards i can have in a hand at any on time ? How many land can i have on the field ? How many creatures can i have on the field?
not a bad tutorial except when you were talking about instants and sorcery's you called them spells which isnt quite correct as all non land cards are considered spells including creatures and enchantments etc.
How many fucking cards do I need in my hand when I start, if I put two cards down do I get to draw 2 cards on my next turn so the total is back to 7 what the fuck does trample do and why the fuck is my girlfriend beating me
I wish if I could get those learner decks but I don’t have it. I am keen to learn the game and I am learning from different different channels, sources. This video helps me a lot..can some one please tell me how to get a free deck for first learners those who wants to learn.
The idea is to get alot of land early on so that you can summon monsters with it. each land is represented as a mana. its very simular to yu gi oh, there are some diffrences like, magic the gathering dosen't have any fusion monsters. in yu gi oh you sacrifise monsters to play bigger monsters in magic of the gathering you just need to have enough land and you can summon any creature.
you guys are awesome but sorry confused on the first bit only 😂 man im bad at understanding technical stuff Ok so Toms turn was first and i know everything you guys did was on point but why did he draw a mana card if he wasent allowed to on his first turn he drew ok got it you can play cards but cant draw them part 2 Ok so by summoning sickness it indicates that lands cant be used u ntill the next turn in itself as in the creature cant get the mana untill the next turn
Thanks guys :) seriously the best Magic introductory video on the web (better than the one on there own site) thank you for taking it slowly and explaining every aspect! You guys rock! x
