This 10mm f2 from TTArtisan is a super sharp, super wide lens for APS-C cameras.
Unlike most super wide lenses, this one shows no distortion on straight lines, so as well as being a great fun lens is also a very useful tool for architectural and landscape photography, where you need lines to stay straight.
A beautiful little optic - check out the video for a high quality super-wide that won't break the bank!

I’ve got the 7.5mm fisheye and it is a fun lens to use. Old school manual focus. Slows you down. So enjoyable.

In the past I had an Artisan 7.5 mm fisheye that I had fun with, but I bought it more out of curiosity than necessity. Now I have a 12mm f/2.8 that is less "extreme" but more useful for the type of photos I like to take . However I agree with your review, in general 7 Artisan produces good lenses at an absolutely competitive price.

Bravo, Nigel. I've been on the fence about this one, but your discussion pushed me off, and one is now on its way. The lens market is awash with remarkable optical quality at bargain prices, and this may be the current "best value" out there. Getting that angle of view at any aperture is generally a very spendy proposition, let alone getting one that is as well corrected as this one seems to be. Now, I'll just be sitting by the postbox waiting for mine to arrive... I've recently acquired the ludicrously named Brightin Star 35mm/0.95 for my Fuji kit. Comparing it against its competitors, - I've shot all but the Laowa/Argus - it delivers impressive performance. You might enjoy giving this one a go. Wide open, it's not QUITE as sharp or contrasty as the Rokinon/Samyang 35mm/1.2, but the quality of the bokeh, at least to my eyeballs, is more delicious, and the Brightin Star has a flatter field and less chromatic aberration besides. Strangely, my copy is quite superior to my 7Artisans "version," despite using the same lens formula, and from the looks of them, being built in the same factory. There might be a story there. ;) Keep well, mate. Thanks, as always, for another great Zenography video.

I bought this lens purely by mistake not realizing it was APS-c lens 😁 my main wide angle is Sony 20mm G lens and sometimes needed something a little bit wider. This lens perfectly delivers

Thanks for the video. I have this one on my wish list. I can attest to the build quality and image quality of TTArtisan, as I have the FE 50mm f1.4. Full metal construction and very premium in all aspects.

Thank you for an informative review. I use the Samyang (Rokinon) 12mm f2 on an X-E3 for building interiors, which works very well, but 10mm would give me an extra wide view. Hearing that the TTArtisan 10mm f2 has no visible distortion makes it very attractive for interior work, from cars to buldings.

I had the Laowa 9mm 2.8 for a skinny minute. (your lens is rectilinear) I noticed that leaving my IBIS on continuous on my Fuji X-H1 with it was an amusement park ride gone south. (Single shot mode) The rear screen acted like it slipped on ice while chugging Old Grand Dad... I found it to be a lens that demanded experience and thinking about camera height and tilt. Watching the nighttime Hong Kong drone footage on youtube was marvelous. But bills came, and it took off... curious to see what your minimum f stop is for the good stuff edge to edge. Well, you seem to be happy with f 2.0 I like these super wides because you can shoot old format near square imagery like the cinema of the early 1960's. Films like The Cranes Are Flying with It's traveling camera have amazing depth of field with no edge distortion because the format crops the edges. A win win. Thanks for the review!

Flare is good in the right scene, many adverts on TV use washed out and colour graded scenes. The only flares I am against are the ones I used to wear in the early 70s.

This is cheaper and more efficient than the olden-day grinding method. If hand grinded, the rejection rate is very high and there's a lot of wastage of time and material. Also, it requires highly skilled lens maker of which there are only a few. Some lens are still made this way and they're extremely expensive. A bit like trying to start a fire by rubbing sticks which takes a much longer time compared with striking a match or using a Bic gas lighter.

@@larryngThank you for the information on Precision glass moulding. That explains why most brands of lenses cost less than they used to Though still leaves the question of how TT-A and other Chinese brands are so much less than the Japanese brands. While Chinese wages would a lot less, with mass production and precision moulding .. to make each lens there’s probably no more than (?) one hour of labour cost

Hello Nigel, many thanks for showing this lens! For you it’s a keeper I suppose. If I get a Fujifilm, I would strongly consider this lens. It is about the equivalent of a 2.8/14 mm for full frame. TTArtisan has quite some interesting lenses! Best wishes Ralf

It's just my humble opinion, but I've never liked lenses with such a wide focal length! The maximum I prefer is 24mm in full frame; wider than that, I find the photos lose their resemblance to anything, appearing completely distorted and not pleasant to look at. Moreover, I also don't like super sharp images; they feel too clinical! By the way, I shoot a lot of film, and on my digital cameras, I use 10% cinebloom filters to achieve softer and more organic-looking photos. But, as I mentioned at the beginning, it's just my opinion! 🙂

Each to their own mon ami, it sounds like you have your personal style very nicely developed (no pun intended). I know what you mean about wide lenses - I found them difficult at first but once I'd adapted my style a bit - and learned a bit too - I found there was a whole new way. of working!

@@zenography7923 Yes, I already found it challenging to take photos with 28mm and 24mm, so my preferred combination is 28mm and 50mm. Alternatively, if I use just one lens, it's typically a 35mm.

This lens is a failure.. a huge failure 1. f2 very bad for me.. 2. when use f8-f11, there is an image point around the middle, which is not clear, like watercolor and blurry.. so bad that you can't use f8-f11.. Some photographers also experience the same thing even though they have replaced the item (warranty)
