Super7 Ultimates Power Rangers GREEN RANGER JDF Tommy Mighty Morphin MMPR Wave 1 Figure Review 

The figure looks good, but I am very disappointed that Super7 showed off renders with him playing the Dragon dagger, knowing they would do single jointed elbows. False advertising. SMH.

I think it’s kinda eerie how super 7 put out the 2 rangers that passed away in the first wave, and not even knowing the unexpected demise of Jason David Frank when doing so. Rest in peace sabretooth, rest in peace dragonzord! Awesome review! 💯

If they were ment to be stylized that what they should’ve shown on the renders, don’t bait and switch the customer! Already know I can’t get through a review where a person is given a product.. people complained about marketing with marvel legends and Pinless joints on packages compared to the actual product, but when they are given free products they don’t complain about how the marketing lied. Super 7 has been bragging about these figures at convention about how they are better than Lightning Collection, follow the Sentai Proportions, BS! There figs are proportioned like crap, have less articulation than LC and those head sculpts are trash, and for $50+ nah…

A little less detail. That is a straight-up lie. Articulation looked sketchy from the promos, and I understand they wanted to go for nostalgia, but this is just poor design choices. The female characters have a better-looking stomach crunch, which goes away from the nostalgia appeal. Makes no sense. Should have just used that torso design on the male bodies so they dont look like giant bricks. Hell, they are ninjas that can't kick for more than $50. On top of it all, they decided to release the green ranger first. He can't even pose with his props. Literally, their cash cow figure and they done f'd it up. This company is nothing but liars. They did this with the tmnt line, and now this. I would wait about 2 months after release if you want it. They tend to drop by 20ish bucks by then.

Those first bandai MMPR figures were so ahead of their time and have such a charm to them even now. I can't decide if I want to pull the trigger on the Super 7 ones, but the nostalgic charm is pulling hard. Great review.

I was really wanting to meet Jason David Frank so much he was one of my most favorite childhood martial art actors while growing up as a kid in the 90's. I was planning to meet him, get a picture with him shake his hand and tell him about my love & passion for martial arts and Power Rangers and tell him that my goal in my is one day travel to Japan because Power Rangers originated from Japan as Super Sentai, and I'm sure he would've wish me luck accomplishing my goal traveling to Japan. May He Rest In Peace. ✝⚡😔

The old school weapons have holes in them because the original figures had a small peg on the hand that went into the hole on the weapon so that the figure could hold them.

The holes on the 90's style accessories is before Bandai hands had pegs(that broke) as they weren't flexible to grip. I don't miss that stuff

Absolutely awful. I cancelled my over $700+ preorders for all of these. I can't believe they're somehow worse than Lightning Collection, despite Super7 throwing shade at those figures at conventions. Hasbro actually has the more accurate green color between the two (though still not great). As most prop makers and screen cast holders know, the color is much closer to a lighter teal, not forest/hunter dark green as Super7 has chosen.

Good to see the Super 7 figures finally come out. I like the Yellow Ranger one the best in wave one because she comes with her Mr. Ticklesneezer doll.

I like the look of the head sculpts, as a Power Rangers collector, I'm still trying to find a way to justify paying the price, even for me to review them. They are great looking figures.

Ahhh finally! I pre-ordered two of these figures back when BBTS opened the window (Green and Red Rangers) sight-unseen, so I've definitely been looking forward to seeing what I'm in for. I can see here that some of the smaller paint apps are definitely not at the level of quality they should be for a $60 figure. I see a fair bit of smudging in that area, but overall, this guy still looks phenomenal. I was interested in seeing what the final product would look like as far as the color of the suit, and yeah, much like their TMNT line, they [Super7] went with the look of the original [two '93] toy lines as opposed to show accuracy. Not issue with that whatsoever, as I had and have a lot of love for the O.G. Auto-Morphin' and Deluxe figures. That's the interesting thing with Tommy; because of the multiple American and Japanese footage reels that Bandai used for the show, the Green Ranger is seen sporting 4 different shades of green at any given time (5 if you count the color on the original toys). Speaking of, the '93 Dagger and Blade-blaster had/have holes in them because the Rangers in those original two lines, for some reason, had wide-open hands with matching pegs in the palms instead of tight sculpted grips. This is a great figure, though, and I'm certainly looking forward to getting mine in hand.

The sword of power was actually used when lord Zedd and made a ram monster to steal Tommy's green ranger power,the rangers combined thier enemies and made that sword to stabilize Tommy's powers ,and lord Zedd wanted the sword because it would boost the rams power and help it defeat the rangers.

tommy transfered the green ranger powers a couple times, once with zack and twice with jason which after the powers were completely lost after the green candle 2 part episode happened.

I can’t believe you justify that the likenesses of the head sculpts are because as if you supposed to get them on 1993 because they are “stylized”. I can’t believe you are defending how bad they look just because you get them for free.

I disagree strongly about the bad faces defense. When compared to other Super7 lines, the face is a joke. I have all the original toys and outside of the accessories, the nostalgia is lost on laziness

Stylized yes. But the fact the heads are not the quality they sold people on is an issue.

The reason it had the holes on the weapons for the 1993 versions is cause the figures itself had pegs in the center of the hands in order to plug into the hole and grip better.

The wholes on the weapons were there because ether the 6 or 4 inch ranger toys had pegs in their hands. About late 90's to early 2000's is when they remove the pegs from the hands and wholes from the weapons.

I opened my Green Ranger, but was pretty disappointed with it. The two unmasked headsculpts are HUGE and just look awful, IMO. I also had a wrist peg break within 10 min (thankfully on the spare arm and not one on the figure). The joints got floppy real fast, too (not as bad as Grune, but pretty bad). I'll be selling my Yellow without opening her and I'm not going to be getting any more of these. I think I'm done with S7 at this point, if I'm being honest. The last few figures I've gotten from them have been of pretty poor quality. I might even sell this one. I dunno. I'm pretty bummed about it as I love the Dragon/Green Ranger.

I never bought Super 7 before and actually just preordered the Goldar yesterday so I’m really excited to see you reviewing these

I ordered these and they look great but this is not supposed to be stylized to any year. They’re supposed to be current day styled figures . Super7 just suck at doing real life head sculpts their cartoon and fiction characters are fantastic. Just take a look at their other human/man/woman characters based on real people such as Andre the giant Matt Cardona and Brian Myers they’re also like this. Super 7 make fantastic non fiction characters but never good head sculpts of real people. I believe the guy who used to do the head sculpts is gone now too so we should see an improvement in future products.

The Mega Heater from Billy was used when Tommy got eaten by TurbanShell to heat the inside while zack used water to freeze him

The auto morphin and bike figures (5 inch?) Had pegs in the hands to hold the weapons. That's why they have holes in the old stylized weapons.

I had sold my Lighting Collection figures (had every single one from debut to fall of 2021) and only kept the non MMPR teams and went all in on Super 7 for my MMPR figures. I might still pick up Hasbro's Remastered MMPR figures, but this looks great. Sure, articulation is sacrificed, but this is a better looking figure, visually, than previous versions and I am confident I can the whole team in their character poses and that's fine enough for me. The head sculpts we're disappointing... until I saw this review. Sure, they're soft sculpts, but they nailed Tommy's profile and hairstyle and looks way more accurate to JDF than any of the 90's toys. Can't wait to get mine.

The sword you were talking about is the Sword of Power from the Green Dream episode. The heater gun came from Green No More Part 2

Yellow was nicer than this one , accessories are good but sh figuarts still made the best looking ranger figures out of all the companies , they just look the most aesthetically pleasing.

The green ranger did have a blade blaster when Billy was under Rita spell and gave the dragon dagger to goldar in return of an old friend when Tommy came back as the green ranger

If I remember right, there was a scene where Tommy, while evil during the evil Green Ranger arc, warped into the Command Center and opened fire using a gun to wreck the place. He also put a computer virus disc into Alpha's back slot and disabled Zordon's chamber.

When it comes to accesories, this figure rocks! I however, still prefer the SHF versions better when it comes to their poseeability.

You can even place the Golden Dragon shield over the plastic gold Dragon shield on Tommy Oliver

God I would love to pose this guy playing the flute on the shelf next to their Dragonzord. The new tigerzord and white ranger are looking really good.

That's not a gesturing hand. The one with the two fingers up is to hold the backside of the dragon dagger He held it with 2 hands, one to play the notes, and one to stabilize from the back

They had the holes in the weapons because the toys had a dowel or whatever it is called made in the power rangers hand so they can hole the weapons

just realized that tommy with the pony tail is a white ranger look. The evil tommy head should have been duplicated with normal eyes for the perfect look

This is the only Ultimates Power Ranger I have at the moment. The only reason I got it is because I'm collecting the MMPR villains Super7 Ultimates line since we never got a Rita nor her putties in the 5" line in the '90s, I want my figure sizes for my villains to be consistent when displayed on a shelf, and since Green Ranger was first evil I thought to myself no MMPR villain scene would be complete without the Evil Green Ranger. I have to say mine looks really cool in person. I might get the others, but gonna have to wait for a sale since they're so expensive. I think $30 would be a fair price for these. $55 is a bit too high for me to get all at once like I want to do. I understand they need to profit and it costs to make them, but at the same time I can't bankrupt myself for very cool looking figures. I'm having to pick & choose between them a little at a time as I catch sales on them. I hope they stay available for at least four more months. I'm trying to get two per month until I have them all. So far, I have a mix of Lightning Collection & Ultimates villains to go along with my vintage childhood and my retro MMPR figures. I just need my Bulk & Skull figures to arrive safely this August and if they'll make a Squatt & Baboo I'll have a complete collection of the season 1 villains. Need Master Vile & Rito to complete my season 2 villains. Until then, I have all of the vintage ones at least.

These are based on the flip head figures from the 90’s. The throwback weapons have the holes because the hands had pegs in them so the weapons could peg in.

I said it before and I'll say it again, this figure looks horrible. The figure's posture looks off, making it look like it's slouching. That coupled with the weird design of the shield makes the posture look worse. I recall critiquing the designs of Lighting Collection figures and being told, "well what did you expect for $20"? Well, what's the excuse for a figure that's over $50? I have a theory about MMPR figures, that the main five are the ones that the developers prioritize while the Green Ranger is most of the time relegated to an afterthought. And it's such a shame, as I generally like what Super7 makes. This and the Optimus Prime figure are such a letdown for me. Also, the second shield and dagger are a more specific homage to the automorph figures. The hands had pegs in the palms to make up for the fact that the hands couldn't close like the deluxe figures. And yes, the Green Ranger had a blade blaster in his first appearance. He never used the the gun mode, but he did attack the other Rangers with the blade mode.

They look great, but that lack of posability kills it for me. Could have been a homerun line.

I really like the slim shape of the figure. Looks wayyy more realistic than the Lightning Collection. LC is cool but they're a bit bulky but I totally get it; muscles sells the toys. Super 7 is not to thicc and not too skinny like SHF imo. And the gloss paint on the helmet is a really nice touch!

Thanks for reviewing this one first and i am so hyped to get all of these figures. However I am a little disappointed on the pale faces but I mostly keep the helmets on my ranger figures. Also i am glad the helmet sculpt came out perfect because early shots looked like it was too skinny . Other than that I can’t wait to receive mines feels like a long time coming..Great review!

Dang its finally out That shield look phat The figure does look nice and if u want accessories i guess its the figure for u Lc figures dont look bad in general but in particular green feels botched the shield is bad and he just looks like a kid in a winter coat especially in tge side by side compare

I like the shiny gold shield better on him with the old 90s styled weapons brings a throwback to the big figure that came with the old Dragonzord I have.

The 93 weapons had a pin hole cause some figures before zeo had pegs in the hands but I think after the og movie they stopped having pegs but still made the weapons with holes.

Articulation and joint tolerances keep me away from super 7 figures. That squeaky plastic as you were manipulating him just shows me that we are going to see allot of busted figures from this line, truly awful at this price point.. they need to do better. Had some serious QC issues with the TMNT was hoping that was a one off..

I think the Super7 figures look terrible. yes, Hasbro does have some issues on their's, especially with the paint apps, but they kill Super7 in articulation. I also love the details on Hasbro's where they look like a suit someone is wearing compared to how smooth the S7 one is. S7 does beat Hasbro out in the accessory department, but honestly, most of those accessories would be useless to me. I never liked the green ranger shields as a kid because they never looked accurate enough to what was on the show and they constantly screwed up the dinosaur teeth triangles on his boots and gloves. I am curious to see how an updated version from Hasbro would look when it comes to show accuracy. You might be loving it for the nostalgia factor, but I am a huge Zyuranger fan and Super7 just doesn't do it for me. I am curious as to how their Megazord and Dragonzord turn out those because Hasbro seems intent on not doing a non-combining, fully posseable 7inch line that is show accurate. And then I believe S7 showed they would be doing a few monsters Hasbro has not done, so I guess I will get those too as long as they are actually from Zyuranger.

Thanks for the video bro. No disrespect to Super 7 but I’m not the biggest fan of their products. I understand they want to hit on the nostalgia factor but when Hasbro can do a similar figure better at half the cost it’s hard to get excited for this guy. Too many accessories that we’re all going to put in a ziplock and never look at again. If these were $30-$35 I’d be a little more interested.

Aside from the badly painted helmetless head, the only thing thats a big "UGH" for me is that vertical torso break up on the male rangers/ They shouldve done the diaphragm torso cut right under the point of the bottom of the diamond. Better hidden that way, especially with Green because of the Dragon shield. Aside from that, it looks amazing.

Finally, they are hitting. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the T-Rex and Goldar came out though. I'm skipping the rangers from the line, and based on how this looks I'm ok with that choice.

I feel like the helmet on the Hasbro one looks bad and that whole figure just looks too odd and lumpy and chunky compared to the Super7. The Super7 gets some things not right either, so neither is it quite satisfying to me.

Can the Super7 shield fit on the lightning collection Green Ranger?

I would like to put it next to the Super7 Dragonzord and maybe the ZAP Megazord. Does that look good in terms of size?

Super7's specialty is the ironic retro style of the reaction figures and displayed carding... otherwise they don't do much else that well. Stuck to your guns kids.

The classic "shell-type" shield and the older style 90s toy weapons don't really match well with the figure and what they were trying to do. Instead of that, I would have rather had an alternate shield that looks like the "puffy" one used in the American footage, and an alternate helmet with the silver stripes as used in the Dino Thunder and later appearances.
