I gave myself the rule/limit of buying only characters the were part of the original wave 1 line-up (with Baxter Stockman as only exception because he was my favorite figure back then). I gotta say that resisting this Metalhead wasn't easy, especially because the lack of vac metal finish isn't a deal breaker for me.

That's what I'm hoping. Still unsure exactly what they're trying to achieve but it if's in this realm I'll be happy. It's super metallic, so it'd work.

As a kid, I loved all of my TMNT figures, but Metalhead was THE figure I would take with me if I could only take 1 toy with me. So needless to say, this guy is who I'm waiting for the most!

I'm firmly in the camp of high metallic paint is better than chrome/vac metal and no one can change my mind. Vac metal always looked cheap to me, like those flimsy dollar store cap guns, not to mention it always ALWAYS flakes and rubs off and wears away and just invariably looks poor

Awesome review bro! Yeah I am going to be 35 in September hate to admit that and I do look alot younger lol. But I grew up loving TMNT, Power Rangers, Batman, MOTU, Star Wars, Terminator ECT. This is truly amazing that they're bringing back new versions of our retro figures now! Almost makes you feel like a kid again to want these once more. Seen on your shelf you have a Vintage 94 deluxe White Tiger Thunderzord could you do a review of it if you haven't already?

How are you able to stand him upright without him falling over? The figure has lose hip joints so the backpack causes him to fall over.

Thanks for reviewing this so quickly, which answered some questions I had about the figure. Making an additional head without light piping is so pointless. I'm disappointed about the lack of vac-metal and I was wondering why, but your explanation makes sense. I'm still excited to get this figure, though! I'm calling it right now, instead of making a GITD side figure they're going to repaint this to make a Warrior Metalhead Michaelangelo.

I kind of disagree. Some of us aren't big fans of light piping on expensive figures so I for one like the option. But to each his or her own.

@@dkutch8776 mainly because I've heard some people have the opinion when the eyes aren't lit up they can look sort of dead. Plus, honestly, most of us probably won't have a lot of use for the light piping assuming the figure is going to be mostly on display.

Great review as always! Interested to know - how did you manage to pose Bebop and Rocksteady in the runaway poses at 19:39 ? My guys don't have any stand holes on there feet? Thanks!

A few minor changes I would make (some of which you mentioned): vac metal torso (but the gold paint is quite nice), less rubbery parts (I worry about them cracking over time), thicker hand pegs (too dainty!), better alt head, and more paint detailed on the "ultimates" accessories. Overall though, a fun figure! (Why don't any of these figures have peg holes in the feet??)

Nice review! He really does look like the old one. No vac metal though, ugh. That’s why I skipped him. Even if it limited articulation, I wouldn’t care. That Rocksteady is stupid tall 😆

I am really interested in this guy, I never owned it because the vintage figures weren't easy to get in my small town but I remember staring fondly at those cardbacks for hours and Metalhead was one of those that caught my eye particularly. Aesthetically it looks just right, with all details and paint deco and shiny gold. I have the same complaints as you: wish the robo-tentacle finger should have been wired and bendable; the alternative head should have had like a hinged jaw or at least a different expression or battle damaged parts...and of the same old complain : limited articulation. Specially egregious on a literal robot where articulation would not hurt the aesthetic at all if not it should enhance it to look more mechanic. Super 7 really need to address this it might be very damaging to the future of the line if they don't

The April figure was great. I don't understand all the hate for it. Metalhead is the weakest to me because he wasn't upscaled like Bebop and Rocksteady.

This was by far the biggest disappointment of the year. My hips a so loose he literally cant stand, even without the backpack, the belt was glued on crooked, and my waist is fused. Hopefully I can get a replacement/refund from BBTS.

I think he should’ve been bigger. Even if the vintage figure wasn’t. Kinda like the tmnt game. Why is his backpack & everything still that generic green tho? Idk. Not liking him too much
