In race 4 finally a worthy tactical management (start and marking) for LR. However, I still see a poor ability to read the wind (we end up too often where there is none) and I was worried about the panic on the last leg.

Commentators just keep being so much against LR They even managed to say the start was even while it was a crushing LR win. The disappointment whenever LR is kicking it is real

Vendo AC 75, usato pochissimo , credo da Ben Aisle, tutto sommato in buone condizioni. Velocità’ discreta. Unico problema, vira un po’ male, ma credo che possa andare per un uscita in barca con amici a bere una birra a bordo. Prezzo trattabile. No spedizione, solo ritiro a mano.

Ma davvero gli errori di LR si sprecano, anche stavolta da quasi 500 mt di vantaggio siamo passati a 150 lasciandoli andare a spasso. Poi non contenti del recupero degli avversari abbiamo anche fatto una manovra in più bell’approccio all’ultima boa. Almeno si è visto anche qualcosa di buono, però li vedo male.

Exciting. Poor assessment by GB in starting box so LR got the jump. GB should not cry wolf. Better weather decisions leading to better sail choice by LR with smaller faster jib. Better weather/pressure info again for LR on where those 22 knot patches were (or just luck? I doubt it) so that gave them the big leads. Poor tactics from GB in too early gybe at first mark, if they had followed LR down to the start for the start of leg 3 they could have been starting leg 3 with 50 - 80 - 100 metre to catch up. The positives for GB are faster boat than LR uphill and same speed downhill. So, bad start, a bit of panic by GB leading to slightly poor decisions mid race. LR raced better until the latter half when they too fell into a bit of a mess. Overall, a wasted chance by GB, but LR didn't let them get a look in. This looks like the final of the 36th AC. Better sailing by LR with a slightly slower boat than the opposition. However, GB not as much faster than LR as NZ were in 36AC. Whether GB can alter their boat to make it a click faster at this stage should they win this LV cup is debatable because they have run out of money and time. LR have better and deeper resources so they can improve again. Anyway, that's my view.

Ineos in these conditions was superior but we need to say that LR had a different larger, less performing mailsail. (Replaced because of the rupture) PS: the boundaries around the boats should be linked to the wind and the speed, they cannot be the same when they go at 30 and 50 knots. It is like with the car, the safety distances increase with speed.

I am Italian so I am happy with the result (and seeing Haughty Ben out of his mind also a great satisfaction) but honestly the maneuver of LR at the prestart was a penalty and a huge risk for the safety of the boats and crew of both teams. They were technically within the rules but we all saw in previous races that the sole cross of diamonds is not safe enough to guarantee from dangerous situations. I hope the rules will be changed because next time things could go terribly wrong
