At Superbooth 2024, Tom from Rodec introduced the new flagship high-end mixers from the company, MX Modular, also known as performance consoles. These fully modular mixers feature 500 slots at the top that fit 10 500 modules, along with channel control with faders at the bottom. The mixers come in mono fader and stereo fader versions, with options for hybrid configurations like the one with four stereo summing faders and four stereo slots of 500 gear. Rodec also offers preamp adapters for stacking and daisy chaining small modules to maximize functionality. The mixers are equipped with an 18 I.O. digital interface, dual effects engine, eight preamps, and additional inputs for summing, making them versatile tools for both studio and live performances.

For the viewers under the age of 50: back in the days when clubs had only turntables, Rodec was the worldwide club standard for dj mixers before Pioneer DJ took over that spot. The fact that Pioneer also offered innovative CD players probably was an important factor.

This was also introduced at Superbooth '22 just looked a little less refined Then at Superbooth '23 he had the same unit and said the mixer bay with master section and interface would be 3500€, faders around 150€ each. I'm not sure how well that corresponds to the 7 - 8000€ he's now asking but certainly wondering when these will materialize and for how much.

If they bring this in for under $3K unloaded this will sell like hotcakes, if they overprice this 500 series based mixer, like everyone does, it will go the same route of not selling well. It's also a shame they wasted the stereo space making them orange and double spaced, imagine a 12 channel configuration in this same space with 4 mono channels and 4 stereo channels, a missed opprunity for the pro music market.

@@georgewoolf6300 you're right nothing on the website and its not all that clear in the video what he means... 8k for the 8 mono fader channel version with empty top rack, but somehow 7k for the "dj" version with all the 100 series modules up top. In my opinion its going the route of being pretty out of reach / difficult to justify for the majority of studio/dj crossover users, unfortunately. But looking forward to finding out more.

@@Rareos This will fail... there are some serious 500 series console competition in the $1K per channel range, and ALL the others have strong reputations in the pro audio market. For this to have a shot it would have to come in under the $500 per channel area IMHO. This cost bracket is select buyers and those buyers go for the quality brands, which Rodec is not as of today. Do remember you still have to purchase 500 gear after the mixer, so add another $500 per channel to anything of quality used. I'm looking to either add another mixer to my API Box or repleace it with something bigger, and Rodec overpricing their tiny 500 mixer takes it out of my options... and I'm who they want to be selling to. Seriour miss with this... for anybody seriously looking at this check out Looptrotter or Wolff Audio 500 series consoles to see what $1K a channel really gets you option wise.

The Rodec mixing console was probably the most impressive gear that I saw at Superbooth last weekend. It is obviously heavily inspired by the API Box. I'd say that in some ways, it's better suited for many musicians as a project mixer. If you have some 500 Series preamps, then the main thing you would need are the Rodec channel strips. The 1/3 cartridge system seems like a great idea. If other companies like Neve, SSL and API follow with 1/3 modules to insert into the new format, you could fit a lot more function into 500 series slots.
