To get all those channels do you need to have some kind of paid subscription? Or you just buy the box download the app and the live tv is completely free?
So many of these cheap Chinese Android TV "Box"'s (98 to 99%) are chock full of malware/spyware though. Personally no matter how good these might be it's simply not worth the risk.
you are right on something, there are a lot of chinese android tv boxs, but the thing you are wrong about is that its not worth the risk. I've had Superbox for over 4+ years and have not had to pay for cable or subscriptions and I'm able to watch all my NBA, NFL, UFC. I had the superbox s2 back then and now have the S5 Max because I wanted the faster processor but the S2 Pro still works and is in my son's room. If you are paying for cable or even 3-4 subscriptions, you are spending as little as $80 to well above $250+ a month. At $100/mo, you are paying $1200/yr vs buying a superbox once and even that first year, if you paid $400 for a box, you are still saving $800 for the year. Its definitely worth the risk. @@josephabanes4226 Everyone's idea of risk is different. But essentially what these boxes are doing is illegally bypassing all sorts of content restrictions using dodgy software. By the same reasoning of risk, I could tell you it is not worth staying inside during a lightning storm as I have walked outside during them for years without being hit. Until you are hit by something *that you notice* it seems worth the risk. There could be sleeper DOS processes in your box. There could be processes that are scraping all sorts of data from your wifi network. Maybe there's currently no malware running but you have an entire ecosystem that is not officially checked by any reliable source so you could get malware with any update. I am tempted by these things, but spending $300-$400 on hardware worth maybe $80 max with an illegal software ecosystem that could easily contain malware/spyware, and also could easily be shut down if copyright owners decide this is getting big enough to put effort into stopping, is not something I'm quite ready to do. Since you are stealing anyway, better to steal the software on these content-theft devices, put on a stable Android release somewhere, and find a way around their lock to these devices. But better just to stay away from this whole concept. I have OTA Tablo TV DVR which isn't great and certainly can't do half what these boxes can, but is much cheaper than this, lets me LEGALLY watch/record local OTA content, and is far less likely to cause harm to devices on my home network.
