V8 Supercars is probably just a bit below his level so I doubt he would actually do it full time. Maybe he might have a crack at Bathurst or something.
he was simply paying a compliment, thats 90% of that comment, as you get used to driving on the limit, those small corrections happen instinctively, you don't even think about them, the passenger however can only react to what has already happened, hence creating the illusion of the driver being quicker than passenger reacting to what is going on with the car, besides that, Dan is quite a talented driver
"You're correcting the car before I even think it's gonna oversteer" - this is exactly the thing that sets F1 drivers apart, they have an exceptional ability to predict the car behavior in a given situation at a high speed.
It's just a compliment Kelly gave to feed the moment DR is in as he seemed a bit anxious to get going. In reality any professional behind the wheel of the car will have a better feel for the car's behavior over someone sitting in the passenger seat. I've been racing professionally for years in GT3 cars and the experience is the same there. No doubt DR is a fantastic driver, but this has more to do with being directly in control of the car vs. passively feeling the driver's inputs.
Of course, that's what I was getting at in regards to the quote. No doubt F1 drivers have excellent car control, but Kelly's statement was more just a compliment than an observation of driver skill, given he was in the passenger seat.
@@TheCrazySweed lol he was clearly complimenting DR's instincts why else would he add "that's awsome" if it was something as obvious as the driver having better feel than the passenger? 😂
Having met Rick in his early twenties a number of times, i am afraid i have to disappoint you. He and his brother were a couple of spoilt little rich boys. They were absolute wankers.
@@DuBstep115 Thats why i mentioned that i had known him a bit at that age - i met him at around 21 and when i last saw him he was about 24-25. People can change and all of that, but when i met them they were always consistently twats. Rick was much worse than Scott at that age. He may be ok now, but honestly i doubt it.
@@AugustusCaesar88 woah riccardo Vettel norris and saint are the best right now in f1. I would say the McClaren team chemistry is the best out of all teams right now.
@@607racing No way.... I'm 42 and watch ATCC since 1980 odd...... racing was far better back then with far more variety and manufacturers involved. Not dissing today's drivers, but it's how it is. I used to flag marshal too. My Dad did all 10 years of Adelaide Grand Prix Flag Marshal.
@@607racing Last few years it's been in decline for several reasons and now we have a team that's been in the sport for a long time (GRM) that won't be racing next year. Some serious changes need to be made to the cars to make racing better and cost far less to run.
@@TwistLosi Really sad to see GRM pull out purely because of money, and yes we need to do something about that. The thing is, for to many years 888 were the only team in the game with a bunch of "also rans". Now, we have DJR-Penske and 888 going head to head. (if DJR-Penske can keep the team order BS out of it.) The point is, for the series, two teams at the top going head to head is good. Andretti coming in will make three teams which is even better. The more teams, and cost control will help with this, that are at the top tier, all fighting tooth and nail, is the best thing for the sport.
This F1 driver, just loves cars and speed, with great humility and pleasure he listened and got to be a quick learner. What a pleasure to watch these two racers, tks for a cool video:)))
Dam, you’re right🤨 I just heard something about he and his team might have been cheating most of the year. Something about the braking system. God I hope it’s not true. I’ll be shattered 😭
paul mc guigan Don’t forget he was a master on the brakes when at RBR. He doesn’t need to cheat, even if that’s what the team actually did. They can still operate the brake biases but it’s just more fingerwork on the wheel.
@@insideman-v1w their car was completely legal, not one system broke any rules, but F1 has a catch all rule that says the driver must drive 'alone and unaided' so the FIA banned them anyway. This is the same 'unaided' rule that permits computer controlled clutches, so it's a bit of a beat up, what is and isn't a driver aid is a wooly definition at best.
What can I say Cardo is just a fantastic sportsman..true honest his integrity just blows me away..my favorite sportsman ..keep up the good work Daniel..He really is a True Champion!!! O ya mate
That was amazing. Before I always thought he was a male model, but he had a steely-eyed glint and wild smirk on his face at the fourth corner. Thanks Dan. Good luck mate.
Remember when both these guy were just young up-and-comers with a lot to learn? Awesome to see how far both of them have come in their respective motorsport fields, a pair of true pros.
