The new lightning is brilliant. I like choices. Ford dominating and innovating the pickup market is a good thing. The Maverick, Ranger and F series are great. And the new 2022 Raptor is getting the Shelby GT500 engine.

Imo lightning makes more since for an electric truck than calling a crossover SUV a mustang, when they dang well have a performance nameplate with the Focus they could have used. Would have made a lot of car guys less mad imo, but I guess you have to cater to those who don't know cars since all they will think is mustang = fast Kind if like how Porsche marketing teams says turbo just means fast....

@@isaacsrandomvideos667 I would still like the GT500, when they did the fly by the F150 was completely drowned out because of how raw aggressive and loud that GT500 is, it's not even funny how scary loud that car is once moving, there have been audio test of the big three and their representing cars like the Challenger and Camaro and the Mustang, the Mustang was always the loudest of the 3. It sounds so good.

It did exactly as I thought. Horsepower is close enough to forget it about it. The 5.0 in the f150 has more torque which combined with the 4wd launches quick but the lightweight Mustang is starts to reel in at the big end. FYI, Ford (via Town and Country TV, RU-vid channel) actually offers that same truck (brand new 705 hp 2023 f-150 single cab 4x4) with an installed Roush supercharger for $44,998.

I was looking forward to seeing the 0-60 time. In fact, that’s an additional clip you guys should start incorporating into your videos. It’d be great seeing out of all of the vehicles you guys get, just how they perform from 0-60 before and after modifications have been applied.

They are same hp. Same weight. One has 4wd and 10 gears. One has 2wd and 7 gears. Of course the truck wins. IMO which one would I rather have? The gt500. No question.

@@voodoodiecast yes. That truck in that trim, with 4wd weighs about 4350. The GT500 weighs about 4200. I’m positive the tire/wheel combo and all the suspension changes to the truck reduced some weight, while the supercharger would have added a little weight. So exact same weight? No. But very close.

In my 2018 I could press and hold the traction control button until the dash says advance track off , it's not needed in 4wd and you will get full power even when the tires slip a little. Makes a huge difference.

Traction control will still have a faster launch on a unprepped surface. Full power doesn't matter if there's not enough traction and at 775 hp it can't put it all down even with 4wd.

@@caseymurray7722dude no we are talking about our 4wd trucks, you don’t need anymore traction in 4wd but sometimes a single tire will slip and then boom traction control cuts your timing, and can also harm you engine if your doing a WOT and things do go well.

@@cleetismcdougall5425 I actually built one last night and was surprised to see the options available for 21MY. Specced up you can get to $48k. I would guess the Hennessy package would be $30-$35k. You could probably do blower, tune, exhaust, wheels, tires, brakes, suspension elsewhere for around $25k but it wouldn’t have a warranty. Would be a hell of a runaround vehicle!

I like my regular cab hemi ram in 4wd auto. With intake and exhaust it beats wrx and 328, on par with 335 and sti.

Trade it in for a single cab F150. It’s 400 to 500 pounds lighter than your ram which pays dividends in acceleration, braking, and cornering. With basic bolt ons, and E85 you’ll be making 400 WHP in a lightweight package. If you get bored with that you can bolt on a blower, fuel system, and ain’t nothing touching you out there besides a Tesla plaid, and certain exotics.

@@kevinmckinley7378 Oh. Well I had a 2010 Tundra once and in the manual it said to not really go over 60ish in 4Hi and I’ve had some friends ruin their front end by abusing that 4Hi a lot in their 98-06 chevy’s.

Even though these newer trucks can handle more power, it really does seem like the hubs or CV axles would eventually break with a lot of abuse and 775hp! 4WD Auto would be better for this application because the clutches would allow some slip in the transfer case but I don't think the XLT comes with 4Auto. I believe its only 4Hi, 4Lo, and of course 2WD.

Wouldn't have been an effective commercial if they hadn't achieved the necessary results.. I doubt that the mods made to the F150 are limited to Hennessy induction upgrades.. as the truck rolled and shifted much quicker and harder than the Shelby.

Thats why Im gonna sell my 2012 Silverado LS3 swapped and get a 2021 F150. I keep getting gapped by these coyote trucks and all they do to them is a E85 tune, headers and Ported Boss 302 intake. I’ve spent hella money on my swap and I still lose to them.

Ive owned a barracuda and several other hot rod Mopar‘s, had several hot rod Chevrolets and Pontiacs, and I’ve had some bad boy Fords, for me I don’t care about what camp somebody’s in I love bad boy muscle, so I don’t care what badge you put it under just let me feel the juice under my feet, that being said I like the mustang and the F150 both. And would like to drive them both, The sound of a good exhaust does way more for me then a whole pot of coffee

More than likely no. It appeared to have track bars, but I can’t confirm that. I just seen a 5.0 4wd whipple truck with stock converter, stock trans go 10.3 I’m sure there is some good tuning involved.

@@jsboening no, its all ford. Specifically needs to be a dealership with a 5 Star motorsport division. Comes with a 3 year warranty on all parts. You can customize your f150 or mustang with as much performance as you want at a 5 star ford.

@@jeremyh4180 Because I have a 2.7 V6 and may possibly want to mod in future. There were only 3 options on lot when I bought mine, no 5.0, even so, they were more expensive and worse gas mileage
