Don’t take this as an insult, just some constructive criticism. Cut the music. We want to hear the car, the owner/build, and Shawn. Use it for transitions, sure, but put an exponential fade on that puppy and bring it down to zero at the first increase of RPM.

I'll go one further, turn it DOWN! I'm not a fan of music in videos, especially when it massively detracts from the focus subject, but I can't stand it when the audio isn't leveled and the music blows your ears out. If you're going to use music, level the audio!

That's because it was designed by the brits The ford gt is based on the Lola mk6, Ford bought the design from the British car manufacturer called Lola cars.

That 4 valve in the 08 GT500 was fun as well. they sound the same. Mine was long tubes, H pipe, no cats, and Flowmaster outlaws. VMP gen 2. 2.3TVS.

Man hats off to the fabricator that crafted that exhaust. That takes a lot of effort and skill to craft metal pipes into that many curves, weld them, and have it all looking smooth and natural.

Among all the other incredible things about this car, what's really attractive is it's configured for real-world daily driving! Yeah, I'd take this anywhere, any time. Shawn, you'd be right behind me in line with that checkbook! Growing up in Detroit, I was 9 years old in 66. For me, there was nothing more impactful than the GT40. One of my friend's dad, a Ford engineer, actually built one from scratch in his garage and we literally could hear it fire up from ten blocks away. Just epic. Everything, just epic. Thanks for this!

Looks like my Lakeforest neighborhood! My father-in-law has the GT-40 as well with the Gulf 6 graphics that he purchased from Superformance. He goes to so many shows and people just love his car!

I can't wait for you get one of these cars like the ones you review Shawn. You deserve it bro. Top notch content. I'm 20 and I wish more kids my age would appreciate the beauty of these old cars. Truly unlike anything you see today. I really want a 69 Camaro. That's gonna be my goal to get one some day. I'd do either a 572 big block with a Tremec T56 or a Built LT4 with a 10 Speed Automatic. I'd definitely take her to gabes custom interiors too. Not too many people my age are into old cars mostly JDM and other modern stuff. I love new cars but these old schools are so unique and beautiful. Truly timeless works of art.

Most of them have become high end street rods or race cars. i know a guy with a street-legal all original perfect condition '69 and he valued it at 50 grand 10 years ago. He's actually got about 5 others in various conditions and degrees of being complete cars. Also a 67 and a few 68's. My father has a 71 Nova that he's owned since he was 15. It's street legal, but it was a drag car with nitrous/big block. Now it's got a small block and a supercharger.

@@drownthepoor I've wondered about the situation with the reproduction body shells that you can get now ' for example you can get a repro tri five chevy body 'or a Mustang ' Camaro 'Chevelle ' Bronco ' Challenger ect ' ( as well as every other part you need to make it fully restored) but say you had a wrecked or rusted out original and as far as the body is concerned your'e taking the original ID numbers and putting them on something new 'is that legal? Mark Worman of Graveyard Carz said it's an offence to take tag's off one car and put them on another . I dont know what the rules are in America ' and god knows what they might be in New Zealand.

Great video! I own a Superformance MKIII with a Roush 427R and it's a blast to drive. I have also been in Lance's GT40 and I would love to put one in my garage next to the MKIII. Maybe someday...

The Ford GT is remarkable and timeless. I miss seeing them competing in IMSA. I'm hoping some owners of the final 67 copies of the GT IV (40) use their 800 horsepower as intended.

I emailed a major car race network ( I don't consider nascar real car race) that after the announcers introduce the track and drivers, they are not necessarily needed to talk or give the play-by-play . It's not a horse race.

That silver GT40 is gorgeous! There's one thing that irks me about it, though... those dinky little brake rotors look so out of place behind those wheels. Larger diameter rotors are DEFINITELY a must.
