Far better then the new ones of 2022 none of them other then ctx3030 no other ones can do this always have been Multi frequency think the explorer is a bit like this
Damn you must be old lol. Well I started when I was 5 years old...now 44. I think I will make it to 60. Agree, the Etrac is a wonderful machine by far. Respect my friend. HH
I've always (~12 years) used the variability at 30 and threshold pitch at 15 - I tried the suggested threshold pitch at 30 and WOW what a difference. I am not sure if I will stay with it, but it is a serious difference. The noise cancel setting at 1 (from a different video) was a super useful tip. Great stuff!
Ya love that hum in the back round it help picking out deep targets always will keep that etrac around not sure if these super new ones have this many options
Mate, that was a bloody awesome watch. Bought my Etrac about 8 years ago and hardly used it thanks to spinal surgeries. Hoping to get out soon. Thanks heaps for this. Ive forgotten so much...
Cheers Robbie! Even after 8 years, you'll still be ahead of the pack! Wishing you the best of luck out in the field and best of health going forward...Thank you for watching my content and supporting my channel! Respect...Jason
@@Diggin4LifeMetalDetecting I've got my E-trac set up similar to what you have. I did adjust it a bit but running stock coil. Is the X-12 the one from Sun Ray? I can't seem to find one on Ebay. Any clue where to purchase without getting ripped off?
Hey Crown Vic - Not sure my friend. Sunray is in the process of opening back up, but I am uncertain whether they are going to continue producing their coils - I do know, that the cost invested in the coils before, was quite a bit. You my want to send a feeler out on some of the MD FB pages. You may even be able to grab one used in good condition.
You are very welcome. I appreciate you watching and hopefully subscribing. I use the ETRAC on 99% of my videos and usually always talking about the tones etc. ATB...Jason
Wouldn't you miss silver dollars with your programs? I thought I read that you need the top right corner accepted for them? Awesome videos! keep them coming!
No you do not. Not one silver dollar registered higher that 48. 49 and 50 are designated as wrap around numbers. Thank you for watching and the comment!
XP has some good reviews, though I have never used one. Other that it being light and wireless, I believe it operates in the same capacities as other standard detectors. Overall, I think almost ALL detectors operate very similar; divided into Multi Frequencies, Single Frequencies, & Pulse Induction. They are all different in their own ways, but they will all detect metal. At the end of the day, I believe it comes down to how much the operator can "Tweek" a detector to be able to more accurately seperate different metals like coins. The ETRAC offers some great adjustments that relatively stand alone and make the ETRAC "different" in its capabilities. The extra value for these capabilities is worth it (for me anyways) Technology doesn't change very much; it's re-formated, re-configured, & ultimately re-packaged into new "design"! Think about that for a minute. The ONLY advancement that carries the most weight are the bells and whistles! The more you have, the more you can fine tune to your advantage over other detectors.
@@Diggin4LifeMetalDetecting i have an e Trac but its hard to find anything with it if you can share please your patterns I'll be grateful I sent you already a message on your facebook page
Would you use thresholds pitch at 30 in UK I use Neil Jones and he set at 1 wich iv used n found just thinking learning other setting now learned this one will uk silver coins work same for this pattern
I found that using the Threshold Pitch @ 30, really helps to separate the silver coins from the high pitched copper ones. It takes the E to another level. I think the Jones pattern is a more open pattern and less refined. In farm fields, I do open the pattern up a bit more, but overall, it works with great success just about anywhere because it covers pretty much everything. I am not 100% sure of where most of your coinage will hit as I am in North America.
Appreciate this Rick! I do share my patterns and have done so many times. Send me a PM through our Facebook page and I will send you 3 patterns and a rundown of each setting so you can compare if you wish. They will be as follows: * Diggin' 4 Life: Squeaky Silver Program * Diggin' 4 Life: All Coins Program (Coppers/Silvers/Nickels) * Diggin' 4 Life: Gold Ring Program (Tight) * Diggin' 4 Life: Squeaky Silver E-TRAC Settings Thank you for watching & ATB...Jason
The Etrac reminds me of the explorer xs but with a lot more bells and whistles and additives, so what model was that whites coinmaster you started with? I will take a guess and say the 5900 di series 3
Hey Charles, I purchased it through Myers in Florida and shipped. There may not be any more new ones around unless you call around. It is a Sunray X12 and measures an precise 12.5"...full depth of detection right at the very tips as well! Appreciate the comment and would be interested to know how you are making out with the ETRAC too. J
You would have to search around Charles. There is also a few ETRAC facebook groups that you could join and ask in a post as well. They are hard to come by that is for sure. You may want to also keep your eye open for a good used one in good condition. IMO, you cannot go wrong with the X12; its the perfect size to weight ratio, it maximized ground coverage and it gets small silver coins very deep. Hope this helps.
email diggin4lifeteam@outlook.com, and we will send you an email in return with some patterns and settings. Thank you for watching and supporting the channel!
Hey Don...in regards to price, every supplier pretty much is consistent with their resale value. I ordered mine directly from Ralph at Sunray. Sunray has recently been sold to Demarco Detector Sales so I would order through them! I think I may even pick up another one in the next month just to have. I think they sell for about $249 USD...but well worth it. Keep in touch as to how it goes...Jason
DIGGIN' 4 LIFE - Metal Detecting History Channel Thanks Jason... I will contact them tomorrow morning. Thanks !!! I remember tweaking my machine originally similar to goesforever and my favorite park was giving up plenty of silver again. What a treat. Now if this coil gives me another couple of inches, it’s a brand new park again!!! Can’t wait to try. Btw... I started with an eight knob Whites Goldmaster. What memories... Don
