Superfruit - FROZEN MEDLEY (feat. Kirstin Maldonado) REACTION 

Not sure if you’ve done Superfruit’s Defying Gravity, but you will see Mitch’s vocal gymnastics in this one!

Hey Saeed. You’re one of the very few reactors I’ve seen who actually realize it’s Kirstie hair. OMG a PTX musical? That would be 🤯❤️

This one is always so much fun! They've admitted to some adult beverages before and during this filming! Three childhood friends, self-proclaimed choir nerds, just having fun and being amazing. This was done at the same Los Angeles studio (Endless Noise) that they used for filming a lot of their early evolution of... videos and some of the early Superfruit music videos. That black curtain you see behind the white one (that was knocked down at the end) is the backdrop for many of those videos. As far as musicals, Kirstie was a musical theater major for her 1st year of college before dropping out because of the Sing Off. She performed on Broadway in early 2018 for several months in Kinky Boots. Scott has been working since sometime during the pandemic on writing a musical called "The Life of Death". It's been through several readings and workshops already.

All three of them have said that "adult beverages" were involved in this one. SuperFruit was active during the years when Scott and Mitch were living together. Kirstin is their oldest and closest friend. As far as I can tell, it happened like this: One day Scott and Mitch invited Kirstin over for the evening, just three old friends relaxing together after work. Naturally, that meant starting the evening with a few drinks. And equally naturally, given who these particular old friends are, relaxation eventually turned into singing. Mitch and Scott had anticipated this, so the studio was ready for them to spend the rest of the evening there (so as not to disturb the neighbors); they even had someone there to film them. And, of course, since this was still about relaxing and having some fun together, they drank cocktails between takes, thus proving that, while alcohol affects their judgment just as much as it does anyone else's, it doesn't do a darn thing to their voices. The blonde wig appears in so many SuperFruit videos that she practically qualifies as a character in her own right. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm seriously impressed that Mitch managed to recover his composure after only two lines. In the blooper reel, they're playing a game they invented in high school; I'm told that most choir geeks invent the same game, or something very similar. The goal is to sing as badly as possible, for as long as possible, without bursting into laughter. In this instance, Kirstin lost when she dissolved into laughter. Then Mitch saw that Scott was on a roll, so he graciously conceded and let Scott have the floor. And a good time was had by all, including us.

When asked on who is the best singer in the group, Matt, Kevin, Kirsty, and Scott always points to Mitch.

I always feel like Mitch gets even better when he doesn't takes himself serious.

I always laugh when I watch this. They are just too cute together. Also I just love hearing them sing without studio effects. They are truly talented. I don’t know if Kirstie had been on Broadway yet, when this was recorded. She did a few months of Kinky Boots. I bet she was fabulous. All talented performers who are also good friends. 13 years together as performers. Love them. Thanks for the reaction. ❤

Although he’s just goofing around, Mitch is at the top of his game here I think (in Let it Go). It’s brilliant. Defying Gravity is equally iconic Superfruit material. I think Mitch may have been mimicking Idina Menzel who was the singer for the movie, but someone can correct me if I’m wrong.

All I can think of is the 3 of them as pre-teens having a slumber party and their parents yelling “STOP ALL THAT SINGING!!!” at 2am. No facts or evidence, just my head cannon 😛
