If you think about it, it may not be anymore. Since Brainy decided not to merge with the big brain, things are going to be different in the future, so Mon-El might be able to come back at some point.

Lol I imagine since Kara just blew up her entire life and everyone she cares about will basically have to go into hiding...she is probably gonna need an escape hatch to the future 😂

It was for the best. Her romance with Monel was toxic in season 2 and when he came back in season 3, he may have matured but he also had baggage from marriage.

You know what pisses me off is that Mon El could in fact travel though time to the exact moment he left, so he could have stayed with Kara without abounding the future
