I had no idea Chyler had gotten some negative reactions from family and friends about her portrayal of Alex. It was nice to see this much depth in an interview.

I love what she said about loving each other equally, I'm a Christian, and I know that Jesus loves us all equally no matter what our sin. She said it perfectly. And as she said she is telling a story. As much as some may not agree with homosexuality, she is telling the story of a person. Also as she said the show is covering a lot of things socially and politically that are relevant today, such as immigration, racism, feminism and overall equality. Not many shows are doing that. I love what this show is doing, I think it is really influential and it is ultimately teaching children to treat each other with love and respect.

I absolutely love this interview. Chyler Leigh is an amazing and beautiful woman and she's such an inspiration, not only for the LGBTQ Community but for everyone. I adore the way she portrays Alex, the character just seems so real and natural- especially the coming out scenes are excellent. She's honestly one of the best actresses on earth.

Listening to someone talk has never been so calming, even her tone of voice. Chyler is the epitome of humble, honest and just an all around good person who would love to love you and have a chat with you no matter what your beliefs are. What a class act, seriously.

Chyler is such an inspiring person , her insights and personality makes her formidable, protect her at all costs . And to think that she went through some pretty heavy and difficult issues herself, battling with drug adiction as a teenager and bipolar disorder. I'm glad she excelled and thrived. I hope to see her in many more shows , i remember her since greys anatomy when she played lexie and her acting really makes you love the character, many were heartbroken when she left and died on the plane. But she's come a long way since. And I'm sure she will be in many shows. #Chyler

Ahh, I absolutely love how this interview touched on the portrayal of Alex in relation to Chyler's faith. I'm a Christian myself, and I think it's so awesome that someone who is very proudly Christian and speaks so openly about it, can also show support for the LGBTQIA+ community by playing such a beautiful, pivotal role. Unlike Chyler, I grew up in the church and was taught a lot of things. No, I wasn't "brainwashed"-as I got older, I chose what I accepted and what I didn't believe. I agree with a lot of stuff and I deeply appreciate how I was raised, but I don't agree with everything. I just love how she is embodying exactly what a Christian should be-someone who loves unconditionally, no matter who a person is. It's not often that the two combine and coexist so peacefully. This is how I wish the church and the LGBTQIA+ community could exist, with no assumptions or hate to or from either side (because yes, assumptions and judgment can go both ways, in any situation). I'm glad I found this interview. I've been a huge fan of Chyler ever since she was on Grey's, and she's actually the reason I started watching Supergirl. Ugh, this interview just made my heart really happy.

A lot of people in TV/Hollywood should study this actress and Ms. Benoist, they exude class and intelligence. Even with the fame of the show they still present themselves properly and positively, a rather difficult task.

I love the show Supergirl. The cast is great (I'm not a huge fan of Mon-El, though. I just feel like he's taken some of the focus and attention off of Kara/Supergirl.). Melissa and Chyler are my favorite actresses and I love the strong, sisterly bond between Kara and Alex that they play. This above interview was great. I don't like the lesbian storyline with Alex and Maggie-----I feel like it was an unnecessary part of the storyline and takes Alex away from the strong bond with Kara and how they work together to fight for justice.
