I really like this intro - “a critical lens to skincare.” It’s what we need, especially now with so many skincare enthusiasts that have huge platforms.
The way this looks on you and how you describe it reminds me of the Clinique CC cream SPF (which I hated 🙃). It's practically a make-up product and as you say, the full coverage required to achieve the advertised sun protection is not for everybody - or for every day. If I wanted some coverage, I'd rather apply a regular sunscreen first and then go in with a Korean cushion compact where needed, without having to worry about whether I'm applying enough SPF.
You have an olive undertone (a genre of neutral but ranges from cool to warm and is usually quite muted, I think you're neutral-cool olive) -- that's why it's so tough to find an accurate tone that works. Almost everything will be too orange/pink and/or saturated :/
Why can’t some brand create a sunscreen with good coverage with spf 50+++ 😭 and which won’t oxidise. I am going to buy this just because of your review, but i always mess up with correct shade. Btw i am your loyal follower❤️ Keep up the good work
I feel your pain. I think iron oxides are tricky because they do tend to wear on the orange side. I would say if you're going to buy this one just know that it does feel heavy and I personally won't repurchase it because I would rather wear a regular foundation with sunscreen underneath :)
@@frugalskin please suggest me a good tinted sunscreen which is available in Australia. I am desperately looking something with lil coverage as I don’t wear foundation, bb or cc.
Great review as always! Iron oxide concentration is largely irrelevant in the cosmetic sense though. The more iron oxide there is, the darker the tint becomes. What use would a 3% or higher of iron oxide be for you if it ends up being too dark on your skin? So if you want it to look good and blend well, the iron oxide percentage is really not relevant. 🤷♂️ Also visible light protection is not even standardized like UV yet, so telling you the %iron oxide isn't really helpful in choosing the product.
So, from all the TINTED ones you've tried, which one would recommend for oily skin? Cotz, sunbum, any other brand in mind? Matte is good for me, but i don't mind a lil bit of dewiness (*satin?)
