Moon Knight was introduced as a rather ambiguous figure, not exactly a villain but not quite a hero either. Making his debut in a 1975 Werewolf by Night storyline the titular werewolf found himself hunted by a mysterious, faceless figure clad all in white who was determined to capture him. This figure turned out to be a mercenary named Mark Spector who dressed in a ghostly outfit.

Same here. His split personality is one of the best things about the character. It's what really separates him from simply being an ersatz Batman. Moony is just plain nuts.

Yeah, I'm surprised that they said nothing about what makes him very different to other heroes. The guy is mentally unstable to the point that other heroes tend to have a hard time with him. Also, the guy is very aggressive, in the new comics, he slammed his ship on a guy that was running.

I like how people will leap to accuse something of being a rip off without looking into the character itself first. People will say Moon Knight is a Batman clone but MK doesn't have a side kick, he was a mercernary which is why he is so rich, he has multiple personalities, he actually does have powers and he is the avatar of an Egyptian god. While he shares a few similarities with Bat's (Gadgets, vehicles, rich) he isn't a complete carbon copy and Batman is a rip off too as some people have pointed out in the comics so you can't really bash MK when Batman isn't original either. Its like saying Quick Silver is a rip off of the Flash because of super speed.

Yes! Finally they did an origin video on one of my favorite superheroes, "Moon Knight". For those of you who don't know, Moon Knight was the only superhero who was able to defeat Deadpool and almost killed him. Moon Knight loves to randomly attack Dr. Doom even though he isn't doing anything wrong. Moon Knight was even fired from the West Coast Avengers for going after Dr.Doom several times without them, even though he was able to defeat them. Also, Moon Knight keeps the face of his Arch-Nemesis in his closet and sometimes pretends he's him.

You know as much as i love Moon Knight im glad hes underrated. I used to say the same thing about Deadpool in the late 90's. Now Deadpool is bigger than ever and oh man is he ever so corny. Marvel has changed him a lot since hes gained popularity. He was a lot cooler when he was more underrated and his first volume was classic. If Moon knight ever gets popular like that i feel his charm would cease to exist and his comics would be different to suite a bigger audience.

He made a small cameo as one of the various superheroes hanging out in the background image of "Hawk-eyes" ending. If you didn't know, this makes sense since Hawk-eye is the one who created all of Moon Knight's weapons.

msadaldin I know, anyway did you know that Moon Knight actually did appear in a Marvel movie? It 's true, it was confirm by Marvel that the Guy driving the yellow van and ramming the police cars was Moon Knight in the Movie, "Captain America 2". It's sad because this scene was only about 10 seconds long and they don't even show him nor give him any dialog what so ever. They just made hints after the event that the man in the van was Moon Knight. It was stupid and pointless, but hey at least he did actually make it in a movie even though it's pretty much like getting excited over being on the front page of a magazine which has a bar code covering your whole face. But whatever.

For those who don't know, Moon Knight also has mental problems with superheroes or whatever. It kinda leads him into using other heroes weapons like Spidermans webs and Caps shield. I'm not entirely sure how accurate this is though.

He has split personalities from the different phases of the moon. He gets Spidey, Cap, Wolvie personalities and gets their signature weapons/defenses. His Spidey personality actually takes over one time and dresses as Spidey than kicks butt as Spiderman, I believe.

Johnny Skinwalker He's nothing like Taskmaster. Taskmaster has always had photographic memory and he carries a sword and a shield around all the time. Taskmaster copies you fighting style by looking at you and he can also copy a flip even if you made it up.

oscar98sala Moon Knight is the only Superhero in the marvel universe capable of killing Deadpool. Which he almost did in one comic, but he decided to walk away leaving Deadpool for dead. You may not like this issue since Deadpool actually ends up in the hospital even that doesn't make much sense since he has healing factor.

If I remember correctly, in the Amazing Spiderman comics, Moon Night is shown to have a personality split several times. There's the cab driver, the wealthy businessman, that is his own self, a young girl and the Moon Knight himself as a personality.

That was the Ultimate Spiderman comics. But he only has Marc, the cab driver, the wealthy playboy, Wolverine, Spiderman, Captain America, etc. He gets some and loses some.

I love Moon Knight, he is deeply underrated marvel character. He is not a batman ripoff; he is a complex and troubled anti hero who became a hero in order to redeem himself for all the horrible things he did as a mercenary. The son of a rabbi who hated violence, Mark turned against his father and his because he thought they were weak. His younger brother Randal became his arch enemy, after he killed Marc's fiancé Lisa (this was before Sabretooth came onto the scene).

Not to nitpick but: 1) doesn't moon knight kill? Please correct me if I'm wrong. 2) I believe it's called the batwing XD I haven't heard batplane in a while Other than that, this makes me feel better about thinking of these two relatively similar to each other. I just like to think that way :D

You guys need to make more of these. Being that I watch WatchMojo, and CE (ComicsExplained ) when it comes to reading/watching comic backgrounds/bios :) The way you guys explain things are amazing, and easy enough to the ears that I can pay attention and not get over worked by exaggirations lol ( not going to name anyone else in RU-vid ). Keep it up guys, I always love watching these and love your channel! :D

Batman is not original Here's a couple of examples Zorro , the phantom , the shadow , The Bat 1926 , these are characters older than batman . those are our characters were wearing the mask and cape outfit before batman came out and cape and mask. batman did't not invent the cape and mask

WatchMojo doesn't touch upon it, probably due to time constraints, but more recent comics have added a unique layer to Moon Knight. The multiple personas they mentioned have since evolved into full fledged personalities which take turns dominating the actions and behavior of MK and each one is a reflection of the different aspects of the Egyptian moon god. Further, this separation of personalities has been developed to borderline Dissociative Identity Disorder levels. Some writers have even introduced the subtle question of whether Moon Knight's origin story and powers are even real or are just the products of a troubled man's brush with death. Moon Knight is a much younger character than Batman and has received far less love from the general public. But if you know where to look, he is a fascinating and developed character of his own whose stories offer something you wont find in many other comics.

Basically, got beat up and left for dead. Moon God, Khonshu, asks him to be an avatar of the moon. Marc Spector accepts. Gets revived. Takes cloak from Khonshu statue. Becomes Moon Knight.

Moon Knight will probably get his solo movie and play a greater part in the MCU in a nearby future. Moon Knight was hinted as an easter egg in Captain America: Winter Soldier. Kevin Feige has shown interest for Moon Knight.
