Man, I can't wait until y'all get a chance to sit down and watch season 2. Also, Mom-mode Lois is such an awesome character. You think Superman in episode six was scary? Nothing holds a candle to Lois on the war path.
Y’all gettin on Kyle for using y’all so much but as a kansas native, we 100% refer to people that way allll the time. Like it’s super normal in the midwest, but particularly in Kansas.
I think Kyle has fair reason to have a chip on his shoulder. His entire motivation was to revive Smallville in any way necessary and Morgan Edge seemed to come bearing gifts that they needed immediately, the whole town believed in and supported Morgan Edge but they can't hold him accountable so they're using Kyle as a scapegoat. I think in a close-knit town like Smallville for someone who's put their blood, sweat and tears into the community to then be rejected by it for something he was unaware of justifies his anger. But that's just my take on it.
Is anyone else getting sync issues between the audio and tv show video? The guys’ audio/video is fine, it’s only the recorded tv show portion. Otherwise, great reaction! Love this show, this will be my third watch through.
So glad to see you guys back to reacting to this GREAT show. It gets gooder and gooder. LOL. Can't wait til you see season finale AND catch up to Season 2...oh, the fire continues. S&L already upped for Season 3!!
Kyle is an irritating character with conflicting views, but to me, he feels real. I know a lot of dudes all over the place like that. He's definitely very annoying, but I think that's intentional.
Visually still the best looking show on television! Lana & Kyle only wanted what was best for the town. Doesn't blame them for being mad. Lois Mom is the bomb. Morgan Edge is a great character. Eradicator time!
I do see your point with regards to Kyle, but I still liked what they did with the character. I think the character would be better understood by fans if the show spent a little more time showing the how smallville is struggling. Kyle wanted to help the town and community he loves so much that he put his faith into the wrong person and was putting more effort in trying to help the town more than most and now that it didn;t work out the community attacks him and family for it. I would be angry as well.
Fans that grew up in small struggling towns most likely understood his character from the very beginning. It's one of those things where your emotional connection to a character is grounded around your own history. Kyle has plenty of flaws, but doing whatever he could (legally) to get money into the local economy wasn't one of them. Had Edge just been a greedy businessman who was trying to prop up the community in order to "steal" the resources from the mines then it's not a horrible move. Without Edge's business the town collapses anyways. It just happens that Edge turned out to be an evil alien who was trying to destroy the world.
They use red solar radiation against the Kryptonians, not red kryptonite. That has a whole other range of bad effects on Kryptonians. Red solar radiation takes away their powers because Krypton orbited the red sun, Rao. Js
I can sort of understand where you’re coming from with Kyle, but I personally don’t understand the need to rip on him that hard. The character has had SO much growth since the beginning of the season, especially for being someone who was such a “small town guy” with a stuck up, close minded personality. He’s come a long way. I think they’re trying to show how much he’s trying & how he himself still isn’t very good at it. And show how he still has problems because he naturally wants to slip back into how he was by getting angry. But the growth is shown when he makes the decision to try and calm his family down instead because it helps him calm down and think clearly too. Because he’s learning to put them first. Yeah, he’s not very good at it himself, but he used to be a shitty person, & he’s trying. And that’s what matters! And I think that’s part what makes him so interesting. & yes he has a very thick accent, that not a lot people here in Kansas have, but a lot of the ways he talks, especially little things like starting sentences off with “y’all” IS a very Kansas way of talking. Like as a Kansas native, it just sounds normal to me lol.
I couldn't actually remember how many episodes were in season 1 so I was waiting for something else to happen that was very upsetting (but might be working out fine by this point in season 2).
Yall honestly make my day. Its funny because oddly enough i get mad at everything Agustin says but i think its because im just jealous at his handsomeness. Mira hijo de tu…. In all seriousness, seeing other chicanos enjoying nerdy material makes me feel comfortable and happy. Thank you guys for all your content!
While i agree kyle is easily the worst written character in the first season(cause i haven't seen any of season 2 yet)he's not even close to how bad and cringey iris or felicity has been written before.
