That scene emphasizes just how broken Clark became after losing everything. I believe, it’s one of the reasons why Joker luaghs as Clark kills him. More than proving he was right, it only takes one bad day, Joker knew that this corrupted Superman would continue the anarchy and madness the Joker lived by. Weather the regime Superman created would live on, or be undone by rebellion gang would spiral into anarchy, the world would plunge into disorder. Even the dictatorship Superman forced on others was not order. It was the illusion or order and control, as we see with the division of the League, more pain, death, and destruction followed in the process to take down the Regime and Superman. But it only makes sense he was in his kid form when superman killed him, this is because in no version is shazam this weak that in his shazam form could superman simply heat vision and man handle him to death. Their's a bit of a continuity error here was Billy is clearly in his SHAZAM from and such wouldn't have to call out for it or be killed that easily. He's also stated to be a kid when this takes place as in Injustice 2 on of the intro's involving Superman and Blue beetle, Superman states that he doesn't kill children in which Blue Beetle responds "didn't stop you with Shazam". Further proving that Billy should be in his SHAZAM persona and not his human persona.
