I heard someone I work with that said Jonathan Kent is a clone of Superman that Lex Luther made...can anyone confirm or deny that? I have watched all of Rob's videos on Superman Rebirth and found no evidence for this claim.

He said was going to take some time and figure stuff out because there were lots of problems... The fact is that the video he made was full of errors, because DC is hyper complex where as Marvel really isn't... and there are concepts that we really don't have words for that are present in the DC universe that you have to account for... And when you state something, because you think you got it figured out, well it may only be true for a short bit of time or only in certain contexts... like Superman is the creator of the DC universe... but so is the abrahamic God...but it's really the Source which is the abrahamic god, but not the same one as the other one I just mentioned. There is the fact that the universe? dies and restarts and this is separate from the big bang which also happens... And then there is the problem of major continuity errors that have to do with minor aspects that should be major aspects like there in the New52 there is the Justice League and Superman who are said to be the first Superheroes... but then there is an African Superhero group that existed 20-30 years ago... Asnd not to mention the story that they are pressing now which is that The New 52 is the same multiverse as pre-new52, but edited to remove 20+ years of history which noone knows existed but some people do, because they did actually still happen ... they just aren't remembered... Or you can look at things like Wonder Woman who has been rebooted like 80 times in the last 70 years... or Nightwing who continuously gets retconned... Seriously, it happens so much to Nightwing I'd use that for the Watchmen edit history arc, because then it would salvage that comic series... It would explain why after every writer writers their last issue with Wonder Woman or Nighwing everything they wrote is retconned in the next issue pretty much. It'd make for an excellent explanation that those are Manhattan's early attempts and use them to explain a lot of random editor mandates through things out or in which messes up the story/characters...

No it's just an outdated look, not just for Superman but for any superhero who still wears them.That whole 1940s silverage strongman look was way past due for an update,even the S on his chest has been constantly updated again and again over time, DC realized this and got with the times. Batman got rid of them, Wonder Woman's modern looks is perfect the granny panties and bathing suit look she had was very sexualized and less superhero/amazon. Part of picking a comic book is the visual appeal, Superman visually looked like a comic my dad or grandparents would pick up instead of something I'd pick up. Marvel started updating looks and it worked out fine for them, for a long time DC stuck with those "ICONIC" looks and they just looked stale. Sports uniforms, police officer uniforms etc are all update and renovated to a modern look it's just part of staying relevant.

@@daraghokane4236 ik this is late but second wave feminism isn't a thing any more if we stuck to the basic origins of characters we would have a Superman who can't fly, a Batman who kills, no sidekicks, poorly defined villains, bad storytelling, no black characters that aren't characatures, and no strong female characters in the first place.

@@godspeed2272 yes second wave feminism is still a thing and even if it isn't this is a fantasy let's pretend it is. Superman could fly in golden age. The lack of black characters is because during the silver age a head writer of DC was pro segregation and told the staff not to have any especially in story's set in the future. Wonder women was made to be about sexual empowerment she should be sexy. And the underpants make superman look less intimating more approachable and make bizaro look more deranged and off putting. Superman doesn't look like a nice down to earth farm boy without the underpants he looks intimating and unapproachable

He recieved a pardon after Forever Evil and his criminal record was erased. My guest is that Pre-Flashpoint Superman tried to find some dirty deeds before he became an actual criminal and didn't find anything. He tried to do the same after the pardon and didn't anything either.
