I believe in the S&L writers, the show is jaw dropping good. S2 was good but s1 is a gem. And I know this iteration of Superman and Lex Luthor will be exciting and epic to witness. Now that this casting news has surfaced, it makes more sense now why Clark was blasted with kryptonite and the Daily Planet globe nearly crushing Lois. It's a possibility Lex is the overarching antagonist of the entire season pulling the strings behind the scenes plus using Bruno Mannheim supplying him and Intergang with weapons getting revenge against Lois and the Man Of Tomorrow.
@@CannedMeats Jon wasn't bad but Titus Welliver's Lex from titans was the best live action Lex Luthor I've seen since Michael Rosenbaum's I was so mad they killed him off but I understood why they did
I would be so happy if they kept Superman and Lois for one more season Considering that Henry Cavill is no longer Superman so to get rid of both Super-mans that I love that would suck. Love the videos as always ❤
What my guy here means ... we need A sigma alpha Luthor, a Chad amongst Chads 😁. my thoughts about Cryer are, he is more suited for a batman and robin movie like show, something more campy, supes and Lois has a bit more serious darker tone.
I've said before that Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor made sense for Supergirl's tone and his legacy having been in Superman IV... but you're right, his version would not work for this new show... Jon Cryer to me, is more of a comedy or at best dramedy person, but we need something more serious, more gravitas... and while I am not familiar with this new casting for Lex (i don't watch Walking Dead or Southland), I hope it works out for not just performance, but the look too.
I love TWD so I'm happy to see Michael Cudlitz as Lex Luthor I have a feeling he'll be legendary in the role, I agree I wasn't the biggest fan of John Cryers Lex. I really hope the show doesn't get cancelled I didn't like Season 2 as much as the first but I still love the show and I'm hyped for Season 3
In Injustice The Joker using Scarecrow's fear toxin laced with kryptonite made Superman believe Lois was a rampaging Doomsday, Superman unknowingly beat his wife (who had recently announced her pregnancy) to death, and in killing her it triggered a nuclear bomb that destroys Metropolis.
I think this version of lex will be incredible I see him being a part of intergang since lex was a leader of intergang in the comics I also hope we get Mercy graves and lex's war suit in season 3
Just heard the news via The Hollywood Reporter, confirming what I always knew and felt... this is Doom Patrol's last season, as well as TItans apparently. I wasn't a huge fan of this first half of the season but hope the show can stick a landing... I did love this show a LOT but the writing was on the wall for a bit. I cannot help but feel how that looks to reflect on a show like Superman & Lois for it's renewal prospects... but we'll see.
I think the Intergang being funded by someone like Lex makes sense, becuase this show is not equipped to handle properly showcasing the scope of Darkseid and the New Gods... Intergang can simply mean "International Gang" and not Intergalactic or something. After all we know Kilgrave helped make weapons for Intergang in season 1.
Hey @BobaTalks, great content as always. I do agree with you that I prefer this new Lex Luthor over the one from Crisis on Infinite Earths. No offense to the guy, but he just seemed like a bossy midget and didn't feel like Lex at all. Even the depowered Superman from Smallville explicitly said he wasn't Lex and casually knocked him out even though he had the Book of Destiny. I just wasn't impressed to be honest. Anyways, I have some questions in case you decide to do a Superman and Lois discussion series before or after the first episode of season 3 drops. 1. With Superman and Lois taking place on a different Earth where Superman is allegedly the only hero around, how does that work exactly? Because I think it was in the earlier seasons, probably season 1, where Clark and Lois were trying to have a romantic dinner in their barn when they mentioned Barry and Iris from the Flash, and then we've seen Diggle in multiple episodes. Do you think the writers just missed that, or is this a different Earth and the Barry and Iris reference along with Diggle are variants of the originals from the Arrowverse? 2. Do you think Lex will be the main big bad this season? I know Intergang is going to be a big part along with Bruno Mannheim, but do you think they'll be like the public aspect of the bad guys and Luthor will be the overall mastermind they'll have to stop, or do you think Luthor will be taken out relatively early and Superman will have to deal with Intergang the rest of the season? 3. The description for season 3 mentioned that Jordan discovers what it actually means to have a secret identity and Jonathan tries to find purpose outside the football field. In the trailer, we saw Jordan using his powers to help people but he was dressed in his usual street clothes. Do you think he'll get an outfit like Superboy or something to kind of disguise himself, or will the issue go a bit deeper? And then for Jonathan, Kryptonians are usually pretty intelligent and that's a feat that usually gets overlooked with Superman. Will Jordan have some sort of enhanced intelligence or tech-savviness when working with the Kryptonian tech and giving an extra edge to his family, or will he try to find a way to trigger or kickstart his powers in an effort to help his dad and brother? 4. The description also mentioned some dangerous situations for John Henry and Natalie and work conflict between General Lane and Jordan. What kind of complications might arise between Lane and Jordan? Do you think it will be a case of Jordan feeling that Lane is too protective over him and won't let him confront Intergang, or do you think it will be other stuff like trying to convince Jordan to go behind his parents' backs to do something they didn't want him to be involved with? And as for John Henry, what do you think of the theory that his doppelgänger might have had ties to Intergang? Looking forward to seeing more of your reviews for Superman and Lois and Reeves' Batverse content!
This is one decision that I can understand why they decided to recast the role. John Cryer was in a good portion of Supergirl and had a whole separate rivalry with two other Luther members in that show. I don't think that they wanted him in because of that. However, I don't think this actor would look good as Lex? Titus seems like the better choice and they seemed to have wasted him during this season of Titans!
The Lex casting... I sorta had to roll my eyes... not so much of the actor who they cast... but the fact, we are yet again going back to Lex... I know we didn't get Lex in season 1, but we spent half a season believing it was him... I am worried the show is treading in the shallow pool again... I hope they know what they are doing
Huh the first 2 seasons didn't have lex in it only rumblings. He's literally supernans main villain so why roll your eyes. And titians lex is dead so not to much Luther's anyways.
see i don’t think darkseid will appear this season, but i also don’t think it’d be a good idea to replace him for Lex as Intergang’s supplier. I think a middle ground could maybe be having Desaad as intergangs direct supplier, kinda like Young Justice did
True but Darkseid controls them kinda like a CEO from afar ..I do agree with Desaad or Granny Goodness being the "Supplier" of their weaponry, finances and their Pr guy and Moxie Mannheim as the "face" / leader of the Intergang with his son as Bruno as the "muscle"
It would be a huge mistake of CW to cancel it. But it wouldn't surprise me because lately all good shows are ending and only the reality show crap seems to last. I don't even have a new episode of a show to watch each day anymore because I hate reality shows.
I hope he does a good job as lex. I didn't really like supergirl's lex, but I only saw him in crisis. I'll get there eventually though since I'm watching supergirl right now. I'm only 9 episodes in and I feel like I've watched two seasons in the last week or two.
You should probably just avoid the last couple seasons they did, I think I somehow subjected myself to the whole show (it was always airing on the same nights as Flash or Arrow), Supergirl was never particularly good, I thought Melissa Benoist had potential, but my God, the writing on that show was always pretty poor, and it reaches fever-pitch levels of awful writing in the second half of the show's run, maybe before, I can't totally remember. I seem to remember Supergirl getting extremely bad around the time that Batwoman started, but it was already on the down-swing at that point. For every "cool" thing they did, they did 100 things that were just total nonsense. It gets *really* bad way before they ever brought Lex onto the show, Lena Luthor was insufferable from day one on the show. They never knew what the hell they wanted to do with Kara as a character (aside from trying to make her a female version of Clark). If they had gone the route of Supergirl always feeling like an outsider on earth, they could have done something interesting, but the show got way too obsessed with injecting American politics into its plot lines in some of the most on-the-nose ways I've ever seen. I remember the final season just degenerating into a total farce. Tyler Hoechlin shows up once or twice but they always tried to have Supergirl one-up Clark, and it was before Superman & Lois existed. Best to just ignore the Supergirl show honestly, much like the showrunner's of Superman & Lois have decided to do. I was ecstatic when I realized they weren't at all worried about tying S&L into the CW-verse.
@@doggodproductions2259 for me I just think of all the shows came into one in crisis on infinite earths including S&L season 1 and imagine John irons daughter never landed, and the one where she landed is the version of S&L being the only earth.
All American, Walker and Winchesters will remain on CW, I imagine. 2023 will probably be the last year for DC on CW. HBO Max can always pick this up for a 10-13 episode final season. But who knows.
No it's separate, the Intergang is an organized crime and cartel that uses technology from Apolokolips which is the planet Darkseid rules he also allows them to profit off the tech on the black market to criminal organizations as well as private contractors... The leaders are usually Moxie Mannheim or his son Bruno, Morgan Edge and once Lex Luthor They usually go through Desaad (Darkseid's Second In command and his chief psychologist and torture expert) for the tech, weaponry or even a few Apolokolipitans as he speaks on behalf of Darkseid It's why you're seeing comments in here mentioning him
I get it Cryer's Lex was more comical and dark like Jesse Eisenberg Lex from the DCEU It was good for Supergirl because it was a more lighthearted show but Superman and Lois is more darker not dark as Titans but more serious than Supergirl. It's no disrespect to Cryer this isn't his role.
theres just.. something off about Tyler's face. He never looked like superman to me. Great acting, but i dont know. just as you for lex, this superman casting isnt cutting it for me
I definitely believe we are leading into the darkseid story. Hopefully its paced well. Lex and Mannheim definitely make think we will get there maybe a couple seasons down the road. I also hope we get a Mercy, (a jimmy olsen appearance) and I think it would be cool to see Dan Turpin. Many parallels from Superman: TAS and this show already.
Sorry last comment (if i didn't waste one making a joke maybe i wouldn't be so annoying). I would bet the Kent farm that chrissys new love interest is going to end up being a villain and driving a wedge between her and lois. Either using her to get to her or Clark or just being involved in shady shit
I think Jon cryer was a good lex luthor for Supergirl but not for Superman n Lois..we need a real lex luthor and this guy could possibly be great to play that role
sigh... Okay, i can understand that this is probably for their own creative freedom on how they're gonna use this character on the show, but WHY couldn't they just bring in Jon Cryer? Literally the only time Tyler's Superman and Jon's Lex were in an Arrowverse project is Crisis on Infinite Earths and yet they did NOT interact with each other at all.
I suppose it is a bit contradictive of them to strive for seperation & still include a version of Diggle. I think Jon Cryer is a lead on another show anyway, so he wouldn't neccessarily be available for what they would need him for + it might have worked out for everyone in the sense that Jon Cryer got a new role for his carrer & the showrunners might've just want a new Lex anyway, given that this is apparently 'seperate' in a way lol. Which I'm completely ok with as I personally wasn't a fan of Cryer's Lex, and have always been vocal on S&L having a fresh face for Luthor.
Well for one Tyler's arrowverse superman isn't the same superman from this show. Secondly Jon cryer was good at first but kinda got silly so having an actor play a more serious luthor is for the best.
In a strange way I want this to be the final season. With Gunns Superman right around the corner and the history of Arrowverse shows dropping off the cliff after their first couple seasons this should be the last. If Lex is the villain he’d be the perfect final big bad. I ultimately hope this show goes out on a high note and not like a wet fart like the all the other Arrowverse shows.
Three seasons is not enough and I don't get this hype of late where good shows only have a few seasons just because the younger generation has the attention span of a fruit fly. This deserves to be on for as long as the other arrow shows were.
THey should have replaced john cryer with an actor the looks like Elon Musk. btw does it look like Tyler Hoechlin has finally decided to shave his facial hair?
Never was a Superman and Lois fan and now that they're not a part of the Arrowverse and leaving out Jon Cryer for Abraham....yeah i don't care even more of this series if its its last...Stargirl was superior!
Wtf this is such a weird opinion. No offense but you kinda like crappy shows. Story, acting, writing and ect are all better in superman and Lois then supergirl lol.
Cancelation definetly possible, firstly it looked like it could be good (when HBO Max had it), but its really just CW shiat again... somebody should destroy this "factory" created series.. nothing special.. bring your tissues or whatever...
@@wyruZzah87 emo cringy? Tf you talking about you don't think having a reverse of a world cool. And by the way the CGI of that world wouldn't be done with supergirl's crappy ass budget. Bizarro world was easily the best thing about the last season. Are you saying it's emo because of the fashion lol it's being comic accurate.
@@cngotham4111 What? Im quite sure that creators/writers of this show never-ever saw any Bizarro world comics.. so they went straight "Emo something".. if you like a show good for you.. im like ok with cancelation..
