Superman Returns is my favourite Superman movie. That Plane scene is just amazing. I was fortunate to have also seen it in 3D at IMAX. Simply the best 3D movie I have ever seen.

It's a shame Superman Returns didn't do better. The plot was great, it looked terrific and Brandon Routh is the best Superman since Christopher Reeves and if given the opportunity I feel like he could have even surpassed him.

That's the problem, it has great moments but boring quarters of an hour. I love the airplane and the minigun scene, but most of it isn't exciting enough to keep you interested all the way through.

I always thought that in the time travel scene, he wasnt spinning the earth backwards to reverse time it was more that he was travelling so fast himself that he was going back in time and from his perspective the Earth would apear to spin backwards.

According to Richard Donner, the "reversing the Earth" was supposed to be part of the ending of "Superman 2", but got used in "Superman", so, the "magic kiss" was used to wipe Lois' memory in "Superman 2"... I'M a time traveler. I'm traveling to the future at the rate of 1 second/second... ;-P

Superman Returns turned out to be Superman V, thanks to the CW Crisis event. The Reeve/Slater/Routh movies are my preferred Superman lore. The best. Not a teen drama, not a cartoon and not a goofy romance soap opera. Just heroics, adventure and fun.

Superman spinning the Earth backwards is not a case of Superman breaking physics... its a case of no one understanding what they saw when he did it. 38:10 Time is malleable. The faster you go, the slower times goes from your point of view. Go as fast as the speed of light. Time slows to a stop. Go faster... guess what time does? It goes backwards. Superman flew faster than light, time reversed. The Earth didn't spin backwards, time did, from his perspective. What does a backwards time flow look like? The Earth going in reverse.

@@virtualbeast3936 Warner Bro came to ventura for the filming of sword fish. They held a carrot on a stick over everyones heads and acted like they were the shizzizle. The business owners in ventura on the street where they filmed paid upwards of 7 grand a month depending on the store front and some over 10 grand a month. WB offered far less for spending all that time in front of their businesses disrupting their businesses. WB wooed the public against the businesses owners and those who refused had to sue WB. The city mayor at the time sold the business owners out. After the month was over and WB left, businesses on 3 blocks downtown ventura were in serious debt. Numerous businesses went out of business. WB came in acting like hotshots, OH WE ARE THE MOVIES. WE"RE SPECIAL. Some of us werent so star struck. WB treated the businesses owners like human trash. Over the flop of a movie.

Yes. Superman's costume was actually brown/grey, to give it the right contrast for B&W as red/blue. If you see "Hollywoodland", where Ben Affleck plays George Reeves, they show him in that colored padded costume in parts where they were shooting the TV show.

I always felt Superman still shouldn't be able to flying, cause he was an infant when came from krypton. He wasn't walking around, adjusted to krypton's gravitational pull, which would make him less affect by Earth's. He started walking and grow up on earth, so shouldn't his body adjusted for Earth's gravity?

The problem is Superman arrived on earth as a baby.. So, scientifically, he does not experienced Krypton's gravity that much. So how did he gained his powers which took the gravity advantage? If he came to earth as an adult, that might do the science since he had time to train his muscles.. Like Son Goku and Vegita.. they need to train in a gravity chamber..

The ending of the movie and the movie made no sense. He falls down to earth from being in outer space and they try to help him in the hospital .Then at the end you see him flying in outer space circling the earth as the sun rises then flys forward the camera.

Parts of Doc Savage were added in the 1950's. Doc was the Man of Bronze, called a Superman, and had a secret hideout in the Arctic Circle named the Fortress of Solitude.
