@@EvanSol919 The point is it's the same sandwich you've had before. Some people want classic Superman; some people want something new. I personally enjoy both. I like classic Supes & Elseworlds versions.
@WRDend Right now I would say that both DC and Marvel need a back to basics approach to rebuild their foundations. So just give people the sandwich they ordered.
@@thomasjohnson1885 frankly, I wish the suit was more fitted, with more definition with the suit detail. The trunk over the thick suit is lame. Supes is invincible, why does he need a thick, foldy, suit? Body armor? I mean, if they are going to make it all fit using CGI, I'll be very disappointed, because every previous incarnation didn't need to.
Have we learned nothing over the recent years? Why are we spending so much time in complaining in such detail about how costumes look in RAW UNTOUCHED images? 🤦♂
Just came by to say this. Kinda disappointed in the stream. I hope it’s a good movie and am excited to see the first real trailer! Love Superman and am always interested to see folks’ take on the icon.

I agree. These photos are taken with phones and regular cameras, not movie camera that have been adjusted in post to fit a movie aesthetic. I'll wait for the trailer to get a better feel for how it'll be.

James Gunn will make a better Superman than Snyder. The more I think about Snyder's choices, the more I think he had some contempt for the comics. He had Superman stealing people's clothes off their clothe's line. He killed Jimmy Olsen immediately. Batman was killing and shooting people. Clark didn't wear glasses or act like a farm boy. Pa Kent died in a weird way to make a weird point. It's just all so... Snyder. IMHO, he's been exposed as a bit of an edge lord. Looking forward to Gunn's playful approach. Loved Guardians.
Let's be real, the only bangers he has given you is GOTG which was helped significantly by the building blocks of the MCU build up. Not saying this will bomb but his track record is just OK. Me tbh the only things I do like from Gunn is Gaurdians. Everything else is just mid. Time will tell but that said I am also not the biggest supes fan. He's just boring to me.

Your complaints about the suit go directly against what Superman is supposed to be. That costume is the epitome of Superman and I’m so here for it and I think a lot of comic book fans are as well.

There was no beefcakes in the batman either lol, we just went because the trailer blew us all away. So we should hold off judgement until the first teaser comes out.

Its so easy to fan cast. You don't have to worry about budget, schedules, acting ability, or whether the actor actually wants to do the work. Grace is so unserious.
What if the suit fits poorly because Ma Kent made it? The cape is Kryptonian but the suit is made of man-made material. Wouldn’t a good son wear it even if it didn’t fit well. He’d know that it didn’t look good but would thank her and tell her how great it is. In the end, he’ll get a new suit. One like what we’re used to.
Superman suit is designed to withstand elements and bullets. You dont need him looking like Luke Cage after a fight because he decided to wear a regular shirt...lol

My cousin messaged me last year when Kraven was supposed to come out and said "LETS GO SEE IT" and she is in ZERO way into anything with superheroes. She only wanted to see Aaron Taylor-Johnson because he looked so great in the trailers.

Needs to make 2 billion. Remember, they said BVS should've made a billion because of the trilogy. There are around 8 known heroes in this. Anything less than 2 billion is a flop.
@@GiveonKingno I'm sorry but the same rules have to apply to Gunn. More than one hero multiples the expected box office by a factor. The maths will need looked at, but I'd say given that this has so many heroes I'd say 2 is fine. Also introducing them without origin stories? We had that beaten into us for years because the DCEU didn't follow the MCU with that. It has to follow this too.
I've always liked the skin-tight approach to the suit so that alone makes me resistant to fully loving the suit…it looks like a motocross suit and I really hope they fix it in post to make the suit look more sleek. Regardless though I'm very excited for this iteration of Superman...🤷🏽♀️
@@David-hc4xh right...I very rarely watch Grace in these lives, and I see why. For someone who says they are close to this stuff, she sure doesn't have a clue how films are made. "Like its too bright"...like where they fuck are they going to film? They film during the day and use "move magic" to change the grade, brightness, and sharpness of the color. She also seems very biased although she is pretending really hard to not.
@@superboyjrv its common practice now, suit technology can only go sofar, either you sacrifice aesthetics or mobility. Take Aquaman’s suit for example, it’s gorgeous in person, but it doesn’t look like the most articulate thing in the world. Guaranteed they designed this suit to give Corenswet some mobility maybe for action scenes. Speaking of it could just be a stunt suit and not the main one we will see in the final film. Either way it’s no biggie it’s all going to look better in motion.
I just want James Gunn to embrace the comic book cheese of the Golden and Silver Age. Even though I'm a fan of the Snyderverse, clearly that chapter is over. By all means the new DC should be completely different and not play it safe. The saggy look aside this is looking great so far.
Go back to square one! There’s a great love story about Clark chasing Lois and Lois chasing Superman, themes of identity and duality, what a man is vs what he ought to be, what women look for in a man, etc. That’s a romance that’s never really realized it’s potential in the movies and it was a missed opportunity in the Snyderverse when they opted to go the realistic route and had Lois figure out his identity from the get go. If Gunn’s movie isn’t gonna be apart of the Reevesverse then it should be a back-to-basics superman story anyway

I think James Gunn should’ve watched Challengers to style Lois. Some of Tashi Duncan’s look are INCREDIBLE, and they strike a good balance of comfortable and professional

What i like about the suits is the characters standing out. I don't remember the name of most The Suicide Squad characters, but i sure remember their outfits, they have a lot of personality. Gunn knows how to translate Comic Book to the screen
If Grace is desperate for beefcake then wait till this Superman is shirtless in the trailer . There’s 0% he won’t be shirtless at some point . There’s your beefcake . No Thor has reached a Billion . Thor in avengers films don’t count . RDJ made a billion as Ironman and he’s no beefcake . Capt America only made a billion in avengers films so again it don’t count . Civil War don’t count as that was an avenger lite film . Deadpool and Logan were beefcake and they didn’t hit a Billion … yet but even then this new DP film is like an “avengers” level film . Grace, you're absolutely correct in your read of Mr. Terrific's hair. It gives 70s, so much so that I thought this movie must be a period piece. It does not scream timeless.
Idk how u could be more down for a tactical, military looking Superman when he’s never been presented as such in the comics. It’s like a complete 360 from why he visually works so well. And that whole idea honestly goes to show why takes like Snyders superman existed lol. May I remind u that that was not at all a favored Superman.
I’m hoping Gunn doesn’t lean too much into his cynical side. I’m kind of looking forward to just watching a simple, hopeful HERO with the Superman movie. I just want good vibes.
They were filming at Mentor Headlands Beach last week as well as downtown Cleveland. Mentor Headlands Beach is about 15 mins east of Cleveland. Looking forward to seeing my local beach in this film.
Modern audiences like 'cuteness', for lack of a better term: Rocket, Groot, Baby Yoda, Tony Stark, Peter Parker; Cap's butt is memed more than his muscles; so I think Corenswet has a chance 👌
I question how this movie will perform because Gunn is going for a traditional take on Superman but telling a very non-traditional story with so many characters. Will either group be totally satisfied?
James Gunn is from Troma Entertainment. If you look at his Guardians of the Galaxy and Peacemaker series, he has a B Movie camp aesthetic upgraded with bigger budgets.
