@@A_Short_History Thanks for asking. I thought I had a reasonable knowledge of aircraft, but you constantly surprise. So I guess the answer is, would I like to see videos on planes I already know about, or learn? I'm happy to learn. You deserve more subscribers.

@@stephenh3919 I try to go for the aircraft that are not so obvious - that way I get to learn a whole bunch myself :) Hope I’ll be able to find more stuff you will enjoy!

I Ince saw one if these that came in fast at a Biggin Hill Airshow. It went straight up and punched a hole in the clouds. Spectacular.

@@A_Short_History Early to mid 1960s.l lived near Biggin Hill and went to the Battle of Britain Airshows there every year .In my late teens l played 5 a side soccer on Wendnesday night in one if the hangers and seated by netting were British and German WW5 planes.Theyxare now probably at Duxford. I remember a Wellington an ME 109 and 110 plus an FW 190. My father had 5 Brothers and it was a Family gathering. I also remember going inside a Herculeas with my dad and Maternal Grandfather who was injured but survived the Somme. That would have been nid to late 1950s

A beautiful aircraft, but outclassed by the Hawker Hunter.

Wish we could have seen the 545 with crescent wings like the victor! Expected mach1.3 as well, oh what could have been! Britain really were the world leaders by such a long way! Canberra, vampire, Hunter, lightning, victor, vulcan, javelin, buccaneer and harrier just to name a few!

What comprised the Soviet strategic heavy bomber threat at this time? UK should have developing all weather strike aircraft instead.

I read it was the usual dysfunction between the ministry of supply, the Air ministry & the RAF top brass. None of which could work together & each dishing out conflicting requirements that resulted in a sub-par plane as with the Javelin & TSR2. So sad as this plane could & should of been fantastic.
