*****IMPORTANT***** Wil......as a truck driver here in the US, we who drive in the really cold northern part of the country during the Winter have to add anti-gel to the diesel fuel ⛽ because when it gets that cold, diesel will thicken and gel-up. It could be as simple as that my friend. Be very sure to read how much to add per your tank size....even the huge diesel tanks on trucks, it doesn't take the whole bottle added to a full tank to do the trick. Hope this solves your problem. 😀
For a warm floor Will simply lay down some of those foam interlocking squares. Fit them loose at the edges like a loose rug so you can lift them to clean the floor.
You should get a cheap fluffy thick wooly huge rug one or twice a yr cut it to size and if it wont clean up decently just throw it away and replace surely get something £60-100? and of course you can throw thick house flooring insulation below it
In my van I always have a pair of 2.5tog thermal socks, a pair of warm slippers, a good quality underfelt on the floor and a cheapish carpet which can be changed as I have a Labrador dog.

Get rid of that god awful cheap Chinese knock-off diesel heater and get something good like a Planar, it is more expensive but it will actually work when you want it to. Cold floor can be solved with a fluffy rug and / or a pair of slippers, if you didn't insulate the floor then it's a bit late now. I like that this lifestyle encourages people to cook. Christmas is a lot better when there is good cooking and good food, something mine lacked. I don't think everyone who does this cooks though, they aren't fooling anyone! You never see them cook in their videos but they always stop at Tim Hortons lol.

I spent Christmas with my family and now I'm on lockdown because a family member I spent time with yesterday tested positive this morning.
Everybody wants the end piece, you get more chocolate. However, if I was camping on my own I would eat the whole log myself so it wouldn't make any difference.

I suspect that getting the floor warm it extremely hard unless you install a heating system in it. There is a reason you find that some people build vans with water-based floor heating. The same problem exists in buildings and there is a reason that floor heating is used. The relatively low amount of isolation you can have in a van in combination with the ability for cool air to circulate below it will keep the floor quite cool. The floor will be warmer if you block the airflow under the van, It is not practical for stealth camping but looks up RV Skirting, It is about blocking airflow not about putting isolation material around the edge so it is something that you can improvise if required but it will be obvious on the van The way to mitigate the problem for stealth camping is the same as you often do in houses today and in the past, putting a rug on the floor and using some warm indoor slippers so you do not stand on the wood with just your socks.
Your right mate do what you can when you can enjoy the journey 2021 was crap it was for us I got diagnosed with a brain tumour earlier this year had my operation on the road to recovery. My plan was to buy a van next year and do a bit of travelling that’s put on hold at the moment, it’s great to watch you and see your travels.keep them going mate it cheers me up no end.
Sack that crap heater off and buy something decent. I had a propex heater fitted for £500 and it never missed a beat. Also get a big rug for the floor in winter keep your feet warm and get some big warm socks or slippers Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I know you got nice flooring down, but if you can't find any better solutions possibly put a rug down, to keep your feet off the cold flooring. Merry Christmas and cheers!

If you’re not adding anti-gel additive into you’re diesel fuel, then that’s the problem. Diesel will get too thick to move without it and even freeze up partially. Only way to fix it is to move the vehicle inside a heated garage and let it thaw out for a day or two.

Like U said take the leap enjoy life because you never know. I love your van build so far. I say work on your build a little more, then take a out of town trip. I'm from the USA, so show us Liverpool, Or Manchester Or York... ( Floor being cold, try insulating it, or buy some rugs, or lift van as spray a under coat, under the van. It helps insulate an cuts down on future rust. I like your open space in the van, only thing I think it needs is a toilet, An some containers for extra clothes. Carry some extra water, & food. Slide all that under the bed, an keep it open, more room to stretch out.) (Your Deiseal heater, probably doesn't like very cold weather. Here in the states we normally use regular gas, but our Deiseal engine cars & trucks ( imports )we have to plug in at night when temps drop so the fuel doesn't freeze in the lines. That might be your issue frozen fuel lines.) Either need warmer area, or need to wrap them up so they don't freeze up. Check your fuel lines going into the engine as well, make sure there all wrapped up. See if there's a plug you need to plug in to keep lines unfrozen. ) Keep on the Journey, love to see more video's. Take each day an enjoy it to the fullest, you'll find what your looking for when you find it. Until then enjoy what you have, and who your with, and what you wanna do.

Along with the rug suggestions, I would suggest trying a layer of Neoprene sponge foam rubber. Not overly expensive and if it does not work here, there are other applications you may find for it.
I’m so sorry you’re cold, but here’s a bit of info to make you jealous….. I live in Alabama US and it’s 68F (20C) not one bit of any cold weather! Merry Christmas!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR WILL. For a really warm nights sleep... try cozy home fitted and flat fleece sheets from qvc. They are a game changer, no cold thermal shock like normal sheets, can highly recommend them. As for cold floor try a thick rug to fit your floor area, it acts as extra insulation and warmer for your feet to stand on than cold lino flooring. Hope these tips help you.

😂😂🤣 Hilarious. That really brought a happy smile to my face, all the lights and the half price tree was epic. I think that van had more lights than Regent St per square meter. Just a hunch the diesel thickened in viscosity in the cold so the pump couldn’t manage it; maybe? Great video. Totally 😀💯

Loved the video my friend I did this sort of thing 35 years ago. Great I miss it. A idea you may like for your window on in side. You can get backing for marine fish tanks that show all the fish. I think it could look cool what do you think?
