You don't need to change your disks to SSD in the BIOS as both Linux and ESXi ignore this BIOS settings (it's non standard anyway) and they read the settings direcly from the chipset or from the drives themselves. Also: Erasing NVRAM? not needed as it preserves compatibility between BIOS/UEFI versions.

is it only for me or does that IPMI freeze on power reset trigged by IPMI. I need to unplug my server and replug to get IPMI up again.
