It's foreboding. Even before he left I was thinking Jack won't be "Jack" ever again. Once they explained Chuck's level of omniscience, I knew Jack, a good kid, wouldn't be able to ignore the world. Sam gets it too when Jack's about to leave - he couldn't ignore it all either. It's sad, but you can feel the transition immediately in his voice, in his tone, even in his posture when he's taking God's power. Jack's on a different road, driving a different car, and he has to go it alone. Even though he brings Cas back and he'll get help - Jack's going to work at a bigger job than any of them are qualified for. Not even Jack. You can see that weight on him immediately.

To me the real issue is that they left Chuck's Death book there. That is something they should keep just in case, even if they decide not to kill him. The Winchesters should know though that from the Styne family to Rowena and Crowley literally ruling Hell, that is possible for a regular human to become incredibly powerful. Chuck would have a huge leg up in knowledge about magic and the supernatural than any other witch

He is a normal human being, right? A normal human being's memory has limitations. And even if not? What he does know is how it works. So, when he dies, he will either simply be gone (if he has no sooul) or be treated by the rules and the rules say that the bad guys go to hell. The place where so many hate him. So, no matter what he remembers, he better be a good boy and keep his head down. Oh and he better hopes none of those that can loop time let's him die again and again and again...

He always had immense, divine and primordial power. But he never struggled. He never grew a backbone. Chuck was probably much weaker than the average person, he just had a large safety net in the form of his powers. You can see it when he talks to his sister about wiping the world clean and starting again. He wanted to reset everything, just hoping he’d feel better if he did. He’s not strong enough to face reality so he wants to make a new reality. It’s quite pitiful, and the fact he was so strong while like that is almost insulting. Now, I doubt he’ll even be able to live as a person. I’d give him less than 10 years before he runs his body into the ground, annoys someone to the point of killing him, or does the deed himself

Thats what I always say dude. Remember when they tried to exorcise demons instead of killing them AND the human? When they said that killing isn't always the answer. If there is another way, they should go for it. And beside that, Sam&dean went to way more then just the little smacks from Chuck. Broken arm/leg? They went through way worse shit than just that. Like you said, Death isn't always the worst thing that can happen. So in many ways it makes sense that they don't kill him. And I'm very happy with this ending. Being a thing that lives since billions of years, knowing and seen everything, having the ultimate power and then changing to a human. Becoming mortal and powerless. And he's not the youngest anymore. No one knows him, no one will believe him even if he tries. Having health or other human issues. Losing people you just found. Or feeling lonely. This is rough and I kinda feel bad for Chuck, but when I think of what he does and would still do. It's pretty deserved. And I would be even more scared before death. Purgatory? Hell? What's gonna happen with his eternity? Empty? Dreaming the same things over and over again, all the things where you felt really bad and scared? Getting murdered over and over again in the Purgatory? Getting tormented in the hell? Sucks to be Chuck these days.

Perhaps Chuck will get his own human arc in a Supernatural Spin-off, like Castiel and Lucifer did. If so, maybe he'll change for the better, and someday regain his all mighty powers, somehow, and be a better person for it? Could happen, especially if Supernatural ever sees a revival or future movies, or some other kind of projects. Hell, maybe Chuck will be a victim at some point that the boys will have to help because he's being haunted by one of his creations. Leaving Chuck alive actually in a way keeps the series alive, but allows it to go dormant to allow the actors and crew time to explore different avenues and opportunities.

The Empty was what existed before creation and currently outside of it. OG Death was the end of everything or death. I know more about it because I read a series of fanfics back then where the writer turned Digimon into a sort of adaptation of Dragonball Z. Good stories too. But anyway, it was during the Cell Saga (after the Freeza Saga, Freeza wasn't destroyed by the way during the battle with Goku, Vegeta's son Trunks from the future got him later though) when the main bad guy Cell (some kind of time traveling artificial monster thing from the future) was battling the good guys. After having one of the two beings he absorbed knocked out of him (them being in him had something to do with the source of his power or something), Cell decided to go nuclear to destroy everything or something like that. Goku teleported Cell to another planet so Cell detonating wouldn't hurt the people of Earth. Goku died in that blast (death on that show is about as permanent for the main characters as it is on Supernatural), but Cell regenerated which even he didn't expect and came back even more powerful than before. Goku's son Gohan managed to destroy him, but the point is that teleporting Jack away so he exploded harmlessly was like Goku teleporting Cell away for the same reason. No it's just bad writing, because we have seeing Chuck before be aware of events leading to his death like when he knew about billie and jack plan to kill him and after Sam stopped that plan billie confirmed that the plan changed, meaning that was indeed how Chuck was originaly supposed to die. There is literally no way Chuck couldn't have seeing Sam, Dean and jack planning to lie to Michael about a fake spell and lure him, how didn't he see that coming ? Jack and the boys were literally the only people left in the entire multiverse, how did Chuck miss that ? That stupid plan didn't even use Chuck's death book because they couldn't read it. so the only reason Chuck suddenly lost every shred of omnisciense and became oblivious to everything going on is because of bad inconsistent writing.

But I think there might be an explanation on why Chuck supposedly didn't know: He might have actually wanted it to end this way. Remember S11 when Metatron read Chuck's final script on how it all would end? (We never saw what the ending was until now maybe in this season) Metatron looked genuinely sad and I think that he did read this ending. The ending that God would lose his powers aka retire and Jack becoming God and the Winchsters becoming free. Just a theory though.

YES!!! I mean, like two or three episodes ago Chuck could know what were they planning, and suddenly he forgot he could read minds or be nigh-omnicient, and didn´t predict the outcome. Also, I think it was VERY convenient that Jack: 1) he blow up but did not die, 2) absorb power from plants killing them, 3) didn´t absorb power from humans so he did not kill Sam or Dean, 4) Lucifer and Michael fight giving him power, 5) Chuck choose to punch them in a very slow way releasing all the power he needed. I don´t know, many things to convinient. Sorry if I misspelled something, english is not my native lenguage

I think it's possibleChuck planned for Jack to take his powers this way and was acting along, but he genuinely didn't expect Sam and Dean to leave him alive and mortal.

Chuck is a close depiction of the Abrahamic God. An egomaniac. So he was also an asshole back then. Which was clear, when they talked about the Bible and said, that most of the stuff is made up, just to make him look good ... They didn't change any of that, they just stayed true to the source material.

Yes i always thought that because of Kelly's vision of him when she was pregnant she said he would do great good and the world needed him which is why she wouldn't let anyone kill him or take his grace. When chuck came back i figured that's what Kelly saw.
