Sam walking off kinda was unexpectedly funny to me because Sam always wants to talk about feelings but this is the first time that I have seen him be like, "Nah."

I know it's common as dirt in stories, but damn if I'm not a huge sucker for a hero refusing to play the game on the villain's terms. Good on you Cas for refusing to play by Batholomews rules. I love how he lets Bart go *once*. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice ... I also loved Linda and Kevin in this ❤

15:31 poor Cas has been trying to skirt the mantel of leader since s6! Raphael demanded he bow down or be destroyed in part because he saw large number of angels were willing to follow him (s6) Naomi lost several angels rescuing Cas from purgatory because she felt it was important to bring _Cas_ back in line (s8) And now several angels want to follow Cas AGAIN! He's just trying to mind his business!

People keep fogetting that Cas _does_ care for his siblings/family & only kills them as a last resort. He reaches out first, he tries to reason with them, tries to _save them_ (see 13:10 14:00, Muriel (9x09), Hael (9x01) plus countless others in s5-7) He is still dealing with his guilt over decimating Heaven (from s8) though he doesn't seem to be suicidal any more at least

Bartholomew was _Such_ wasted potential! He was a true believer! He drank the Castiel koolaid back in s6, he believed his teachings on free will (only he used his free will to try & gain power/control) It would have been sooo interesting to keep him around & have him/his faction as an opposing force/foil to Cas! But SPN writers cannot live with themselves if they don't destroy any & all interesting subplots & implications 🙄
