This season was around the same time as Iron Man 2 so it was still a new feeling to have a fun/cool/likable villain, Crowley predates MANY of the MCUs best bad guys. Have Huddleston guest as Loki would have been hilarious😅
“Feeble”? I think you missed the point. Sam had to test the gun and watch your response, he wouldn’t have assumed you had it loaded. And the very act of pointing it at you was cathartic.
They really did Crowley dirty in the competence department, even just after season 5. How many times did he fall for a demon trap on the ceiling, under a carpet, or in a bullet in season 6 and beyond? Yet in his first ever scene he clocked the carpet, checked, and had full control of the entire situation from beginning to end. Crowley will forever be my favorite character (I stopped watching after his total death), but he really only went downhill, slowly yes, but downhill after season 5. We rooted for Crowley because he was a competent, charming, bastard. He was here in season 5 because he knew how to pick deals, keep out of the sights of hunters, and squash any competition mercilessly. But that kind of went away over time.
I think it's awesome that Crowley is a excellent shoot he knew he had 2 bullets and he knew he wouldn't miss just so he knew the boys would try and shoot him
Watching these scenes for nostalgia. Oh Crowley how I loved you. Always found it hilarious af how when Sam attempts to shoot him in the face and Crowley just goes: "Oh yeah, you need some bullets."
The actor who plays Crowely is in the new series of Doctor Who... It took me over a day to figure out where i recognize him from. When i found out I was like "HOW COULD I NOT SEE THAT!!!"
well, crowley was always the best thing that happened. his one-liners and the way he speaks so normally and suddently starts yelling with something hilarious... XD
the one of... the best of the best of the best, sir (q/MiB) scenes of SN, incl. "Kevin...Diiiick", "GOOOD MOOOORNINNNGGG, VIIETTTNAAAMMM" and couple of others...but...just now, after million times i've watched THIS scene...I've really admired with Dean's reaction @1:32
Can someone explain how Crowley has become so powerful? He said it himself, he is in sales. A crossroads demon has the same amount of strength as a black eyed demon, the only difference is the deals they are allowed to make. But since he became the king of hell, he has fought other demons, angels and hunters without too much effort. The only times he has ever been visibly afraid, was with Abaddon or Cain. Does the throne of hell automatically grant the king power or something?
I don't think it's so much about power as it is about being smarter than the rest.like you said he's a salesman & a dam good one too which is how & why he was the king of the crossroads & eventually the king of hell.more importantly being a good salesman requires being a good strategist & always knowing who you selling & buying from so not to get screwed over & given crowley was the best salesman in hell,he was the logical choice for being king of hell.he may not be the strongest but he doesn't need to be because he's such a brilliant strategist & great salesman not even angels dare take him lightly
MatserSensui But he must have some sort of new powers, because even if he is a brilliant strategist, he clearly doesn't have the support of his underlings in hell. He treats them like trash but they all just take it instead of banding together to kill him. The only reason for Crowley being able to throw around demons, killing them with ease, and not having them turn on him in a revolt, is because they fear he can kill them.
TheAndersand2500 my only explanation atm is simply he was already more powerful than the rest of the demons in hell before he become king of hell & like I said he's not an idiot he knows who his enemies are & not to underestimate them which includes his own subjects I mean they are demons which ad crowley once put it talking to bobby "lying deceitful lazy disorganized short sight sighted Evil creatures & stupid" or something like that & for a moment understanding why lucifer himself wanted to wipe demon kind off the board.he's knows full well if he let his guard down, the rest of demon kind wouldn't hesitate to take him out so no doubt he has plan a-z to handle any & all challengers including ones who may or may not be stronger than him
Lilith dead, Alastair dead, Azazel Dead, which made him the most powerful Demon of the line-up after them, King of The Crossroads and also Lilith's right hand man, He was already more powerful than the other Crossroads demon's, Not to forget he was the most intelligent Demon to be on the show, He didn't just go on power, he went on knowledge and he was the top Salesman of both heaven & Hell I'd say. Crowley/Fergus also had the added bonus of possibly the most powerful witch as his mother which I do believe may have helped him learn some tricks. I'm not surprised he became"Top Boss" in hell, Crowley KING OF HELL! Lucifer GOD OF HELL is preciously how it is.
For the really interested... this is the script for this scene: tvwriting.co.uk/tv_scripts/Collections/Drama/Supernatural/Supernatural_5x10_-_Abandon_All_Hope.pdf - the scene starts on page 11. This is the episode (Abandon all hope, 5:10, Ben Edlund, writer) that introduced Crowley - to us, and also to Mark Sheppard. It's always interesting to see what got changed around, cut out, and how it all came to life.
i have met mark shepheard who plays crowley at a convention hes a really good person friendly and he called me back at autograph table and we kept chatting really cool person.
Mark Sheppard, and a doll in person. At a recent Convention, I had just gotten his autograph and was turned around (place was chaos), and he saod "I think you're supposed to go that way, love." I could have fainted then, being called "love" by Crowley's alter ego.. :-)
And 3) HOW ABOUT YOU DON'T MISS? OKAY? MOROOOOOOOONS! What a line, man. That's why SN is the greatest, it mixes super serious world ending, god stuff with comedy, but it makes complete sense to be mixing those up.
He is right. How dumb do you have to be to think that a demon would willingly hand you a fully loaded weapon that's just one of a few that could kill him? lol
Mark Sheppard had said a couple of years ago that he wasn't interested in returning, that he has moved forward. It would be a disservice to bring Crowley back in another body, really
@VonApplestrudel well, i started from season 4 and before episode starts there is a couple short scenes from previous episodes which are linked to main topic and like in my case it was helping me to understand whats going on
i agree crowley is 1 of the best villains ive seen in tv series,i enjoy every moment he's on the show...but truth be told...the series went to shit after lucifer and gabriel died.
hhh i love Crowleys character i even named my dog after him and the other one name is Sam and i always play a mix i have with deans voice when he calling his name but i cant fand one with Crowleys name so pleas if any one can find or make one for me i will be so thankful thanks guys
ya imma have to go with 504gab here. Crowley is second no doubt, but Castiel is just altogether too funny, and too cool. The angel of the Lord trumps a demon any day.
'click' 'followed by moment of silence' Crowley: " ooh you probably need more ammunition " This cracked me up. Hands down my favorite bad guy even up till season 9
