The key takeaway from this episode is that all ghosts turn vengeful eventually, and anger is something that speeds up that deterioration. Bobby has plenty of things to be angry about. So it puts the boys in the horrible situation of getting to see Bobby again but not knowing how long he’ll truly be Bobby. Plus then they have to decide when to burn the flask-now? After beating the leviathans? After he starts to turn and their last real interaction is with a vengeful Bobby that has turned on them? All choices suck in their own ways and it’s definitely a situation I don’t envy.

I like that we got more info on ghosts... That sooner or later they all turn vengeful and crazy.

Eh, it's all stuff we learned in the s2 premier "In My Time of Dying" and/or in "Death Takes a Holiday". In the former, Dean was dying and Tessa explained that if he chose to stay, he would eventually become a vengeful spirit, sooner or later. She explained the whole process really. And in the latter, we saw how new ghosts couldn't do much in the way of telekinesis or interacting with the physical world. Which explains Bobby having issues reaching out to Sam and Dean. So idk. This episode doesn't add much imo. Although I think it's the first time we saw a ghost gaining power from other ghosts. Decent episode though. At least they finally saw Bobby too.

Yeah I totally get your lack of enthusiasm in the Leviathans. But personally I enjoy monster of the week episodes, I think the thing that kept me a Supernatural fan for so long is even if a seasons main plot wasn't my favorite I still enjoyed most of the episodes even if they were filler.

The reason Dean and Sam aren't overjoyed to know Bobby is a ghost is because it complicate matters. Some fan's say Dean is being hypocritical calling what Bobby did unnatural when he and Sam have come back from the dead, but being a ghost isn't a full resurrection and Dean has experience being a ghost himself. Plus it's not like a "Good Monster" every ghost on this show turns bad and out of control once they go hostile which Bobby is clearly going to do if he goes against the Leviathans. The only good ghost on this show are those who just died, didn't realize they were a ghost or are trying to stop other ghost. There is a very real threat that Bobby could go bad and Dean knows they'll have to deal with it which mean hunting Bobby and he doesn't think he can do it or live with it.

I wouldn’t have been very happy with Bobby as a ghost either. I understand Dean and stuff. I know they have come back from the dead but its like Bobby is a father figure so I guess Dean wanted him to just be in peace and rest. Alot can go wrong when this happens so he was happy to see him but super scared and worried.

Bobby should not have come back as a ghost it undercuts the impact of his death and tribute episode. Sam and Dean have also grieved him and they both know what happens to ghosts with unfinished business so if i were them i'd be concerned as well.

Hmm... I have always thought the show did a great job with the emotional side of things. I had never been emotionally invested in a television show until this one. And following the 'community' at the time had not experienced how many other people were getting the same thing. I also have loved the way the show balances the different emotions per episode so I was rarely overwhelmed. Anywho... I really got a laugh on how fixated you got on the aspect of ghost sex,lol.

Annie is the one "smashing anything that breathes." She knew they all knew each other & they knew her. They didn't see her enough to even have her on the show before. What a ho! LOL! Annie's portrayer (Jamie Lunar) is 40 at the time this was filmed. Whitman got all his power from killing the other ghosts. Since he was killed trying to kill Bobby, all the power Whitman had went into Bobby, which gave him the energy he needed to be seen by the boys.

You could take the Leviathans out of 80% of the season and the season wouldn't change much.

I think the main issue is that the Leviathans aren't in the season that much.

So back in the day, we had 22 episode series. Now with like 8 episodes in the season everything goes toward the main story arc. Back then, you could kind of play a bit with episodes. Way back in season 1, Sam wanted to go after dad and Dean made the point that, yes, they would do that but in the mean time, they would do their job saving people, hunting things. You seem to have forgotten they do worry about the big picture, but also do their main job. I know you are way past this, but hopefully you've realized by now that 1) guest stars are more normal than regulars, no you probably won't see them again, 2) This is not the Bobby is dead world tour series. They honored Bobby WAY more than any other death they experience. 3)Monsters of the week are the bread and butter of the show. The story arc is woven through the season. It's season 7, you probably should have picked up on that by now. Been loving your reactions, but roll with it a little more.

right there with you on wanting to astral project to see yourself. Yep thought about that before as well and for the same reasons plus much easier to check out if an outfit looks okay on if you could see it from outside perspective. and you're right mirrors aren't the same.

It's a shame you don't like this season and I think that, not the direction is the problem. I find this a very emotional episode. For two people who both know about and have been ghosts to try to hug one would be slapstick, not emotional.

I knew you wouldn't like this season bcoz previously you've liked the storyline more but you should be prepared cause there's basically no big storylines until sn 11 maybe just a bit in sn 8 and 10
