Supernatural Reaction 14x02 Part 2 DakaraJayne 

"I enjoyed it a lot. And by enjoy I mean it was unbelievably painful" is a quote that most fans of this show can relate to.

"I had Sam and Dean but, I also had something else that was really important; I had myself"- I cannot tell you the number of times I have remembered that line as a supportive reminder and so, yes, this is a fictional show but, this episode is just another depiction of how profound these characters have become to us. With that said, Jack and Cas's growth in this one was my true pull because, again, I'm a sucker for Dadstiel as he genuinely has taken that role with such devotion that- I can't imagine what contradicting emotions must be going through his head when his son essentially says, "Dean doesn't matter...Do you think he'd want it any other way?" (of course not! but the self-deprecating part of being a Winchester is NOT something that needs to be followed...but, alas, he has always looked for Dean's approval and so mirroring him to a seemingly infinite extent of protecting others? it's well-known to Cas and us). Then his talk with his grandparents and the heartbroken noise that I produced when we find out Kelly named him after his grandpa and that they don't know she has passed away?! *Pain...utter pain* Kelly would be so proud of him...maybe just a wee more if he understands that we do not say Dean (or anyone else, but especially Dean) can die...in front of CAS- thanks. More so, again, Jensen's portrayal of Dean and that reflection scene...the power Micheal possess and yet, doesn't see the need to flaunt (the clean-cut suit; precision and appearance of authority and even trickled in when he is "working") it's so good! And you are absolutely right in saying that him simply fleeing just doesn't make sense but...it is a fun mystery- for now, Dean gets to see Sam and his glorious beard and (I'm being hopeful) rest. Also, in my opinion, Nick's storyline seems a bit strange because it is heartwrenching to re-visit what he went through with his family but, if he was capable of doing what he did and call it "Justice" then perhaps, "The Devil comes dressed up in what you desire" just furthers what he may already be capable of. Well, perhaps not the annihilation of the Earth but- to weed out those who he thinks is his right to take out of the world and that...well that, that is a whole another talk. For this show, I just don't like him being near these boys cause of the trauma of just seeing his face- what that could bring up for all of them...and even through that Sam wanted to give him a chance? it is generous, to say the least, but may not be the best thing

Jack honey, Cas loves you more than anyone and anything in the entire universe, but you should know better than to suggest killing the love of his life in front of him.

Castiel is straight up not having a good time. Firstly Nick guilt tripping him for absolutely no reason, secondly him being unable to be present there to rescue Dean, Jack acting like a bratty teenager and suggesting that he is not his real family and saying that Dean should die :)

Jack meeting his grandparents nearly broke me. Did dean get free or not is the big question though. Thanks for a wonderful reaction from a wonderful perspective.

I didn't really consider this first time watching, but I dont get how "Nick" is even alive. Like that vessel was supposed to have been destroyed back in Season 5, but then Crowley recreated it and made it stronger as a prison for lucifer later (somehow). But why would that require Nicks soul? (reminder that Jimmy is in Heaven so def don't need a soul for a vessel) They kind of stretched it a bit just to keep that character in the show on multiple occasions.

This might be one of my favorite episodes of season 14. Although Jensen's performance as Michael was part of that, I love it more for the depth and the emotion it brought from all the other characters in his absence. The father / son dynamic between Cas and Jack, how we see just how much Cas has changed in his perspectives over the years just from being around and siding with Sam and Dean. We see once again just how much the tearing of Jimmy's family changed and affected him and genuine remorse despite the fact that he had to do it in order to do other, more important things. It shows how human he's become. And, I love ( despite the fact that I'm not a fan of Nicks arc simply because it doesn't make a whole lot of sense) the way that Nicks character was fleshed out further. It makes so much sense for him to be permanently influenced and tainted by Lucifer. He had a small child that never got to grow up, and a loving wife and both of those were taken from him. It's true that this would affect different people different ways, but unlike Jimmy-his family was killed and used to exploit his emotions. Lucifer didn't need him for some grand deed that was inherently good despite needing a vessel anyway and that's what made it diabolical. It makes sense to me that it would twist Nicks feelings and motivations into someone that might not have pure intentions. The time he did that little snap thing, not going to lie my heart kind of stuttered. Also, Michaels plan was kind of interesting. Who knew vampires and werewolves would be at the heart of his plans. So cool.

I enjoyed this episode much more than the Premiere until the last five minutes! My response was much like yours e.g it is Michael playing v is it Dean. The only difference is I watched with a friend and I was fuming and ranting at the prospect of getting rid of Michael after two episodes!! The acting in SPN is always good but everyone was brilliant in this episode.

Perhaps Nick's neighbour was nervous as he can sense that Nick is a psychopath.

Only have season 14 and season 15 left…my advice would be to buy more Kleenex.

This is getting interesting, 3 storylines full of emotion and can’t wait for more and where it leads
