A lot of improv in this episode by j2. At a convention, Jared Padalecki had said that he felt it strange Sam had the salt all along and didn't think to use it, so after pouring the salt he ad-libbed the line, "Why didn't I do that before?"

I love the special title sequences they do for fun episodes. They never fail to make me laugh.

Sam in Season 6 is a sociopath. Knowing right from wrong and not caring.

this will always be in my top 5 Supernatural episodes. the close encounters line will always make me laugh. lol

Eric Kripke created the show and ran it for the first 5 seasons that he had somewhat planned as its own large interwoven arc (even though things were added like angels that weren't in the original idea)then the show was to end with swan song but they decided to keep the show going after he left and Sara Gamble came in for 2 seasons. Jeremey carver was on top for s9-11 and finally Andrew Dabb for 12-15 (While Robert Singer stayed the entirety of the season) and all of the showrunners were successful writers on the show before taking over and responsible for truly great episodes, characters and story arc's. But as with any major writing change elements of the show changed as well as the dedication to the 'rules' of this universe although the stability of the cast, J2, and the crew (a lot of who stayed the entire series as well) kept it still feeling like the same show.

Say what y'all want, but I love Sera Gamble. After the fans shat on her and she left, our show really took a dive. I love Carver and Edlund, too, but NOT as showrunners.

Season 6 is a mess. There are some very good episodes, my favourite episode ever is in season 6 (no, not that one!), but the overall story is all over the place. It feels like they were trying to be clever with misdirects and such, but what we actually ended up with was a season that felt like it was going nowhere.

I've watched this entire series countless times thanks to TNT. They should've stopped at 5. Perfect way to end the show. Sam sacrificing himself so Dean wouldn't have to kill his brother was poetic.
