Im not sure you understand the the struggle of morality when people are indecisive about killing someone even if they deserve it or not. This That's what most shows are aiming for which doesn't trivialized killing and depends on a character. The boys has only ever actively killed supernatural creatures/monster, not humans. And jake even with supernatural powers is still human. And as you mentioned Sammy has struggled to do good especially when he learned he's supposed to go dark and that actually fits his character. Enjoyed the reaction btw.

Due to the writer's strike season 3 is only 16 episodes so the writers didn't really get to do every thing they had planned but it was still great. No spoilers but I will say you will not be prepared for that season finale either.

I cried so much especially when dean was talking to Sams body saying he screwed it up 😭

Honestly, while I'm sure he was thinking it, it sort of surprised me that Sam didn't outright mention that the way John disappeared was far from hellish. In fact, it was sort of similar to the priest, a glowing and soft light, rather than the flames that most ghosts disappear in. It would certainly make sense to me that clawing his way out of hell to rescue his sons and kill a demon gets him a fast track through the pearly gates instead.

I really love the Dean's smile at 14:21 He doesn't care about all the demons out there cause he got this brother back. And they can do anything together

Jensen was so brilliant in this episode. This definitely goes down as one of my all-time favorite episodes of the entire series! Also, I don't know if you know this or not, but the actor who played Jake in this episode and the one before, Aldis Hodge, played Michonne's boyfriend/baby daddy in the flashbacks of her pre-apocalypse life on TWD.

Not gonna lie, love your reactions to this amazing show... but it's extra fun to watch you stressing TF OUT in certain scenes. 🤣 "Shoothimshoothimshoothim..." And it's definitely fun to watch someone see this show through new eyes, even from 14 seasons ago, because it's such an incredible journey, so thank you for sharing and welcome to the Thunderdome!!

Yeah, this is STILL one of my favorite Season Finales on this show. And that emotional scene with Dean near the beginning is still a tear-jerker. Also, a behind-the-scenes note: As you've doubtlessly noticed from watching the gag reels, many shenanigans happen on that set, but the guys have mentioned at conventions that while filming that scene in the shack with Sam dead and Dean talking to him, Jared was legitimately trying to be as still and "dead" as possible, to help Jensen with the scene. And Jensen has said that sometimes while filming, if an actor needs to get visibly emotional, a lot of times they'll think of someone they know irl close to them dying, or something like that. But that all he had to do was picture Jared being dead and that was enough to bring on the tears. Because even when it was just 2 years in, these guys had become like brothers and really genuinely cared about each other. I really enjoy your reactions and am SO excited for you to continue on this journey! (Keep the tissues handy!) Season 3 is short, as people have mentioned due to the writers' strike that was going on at the time, but it still has some REALLY good episodes, and I"m sure you're going to enjoy it.

These next few seasons are amazingly pieced together and story is as close to perfect as they could have possibly gotten it

3:25 The beginning of Supernatural in my opinion! This is the main reason I always felt that Crossroad Blues was definitely not a MOTW episode. Very important episode in the whole series, period. 3:40 Not for the Winchesters. LOL, never that. 10 years would be weigh too much time for them to come up with something. 5:42 Bobby Singer is the best character ever. It is damn there impossible to throw him off. 7:03 Yellow Eyes was a more powerful, top of the line demon that Holy Water didn't work on. Hence the yellow eyes in comparison to the regular black demon eyes. 7:37 Sam and all the psychic kids could cross because they are not full demon. Yellow eyes and all other demons, it's a no go. 10:00 You noticed once the gate was open the Devil's Trap that was connected by Samuel Colt when he build the iron lines was broken so now demons can cross. 11:04 This scene is Legendary in Supernatural. John Winchester from the pit to save the family business! 11:18 That bullet was sitting in that gun for a whole season. CLASSIC! 11:47 We couldn't without a spoiler. It was necessary for you to be surprised and feel all the raw emotions. Supernatural is excellent at this. 12:14 You nailed it. My mouth was wide open for a good few minutes when I first saw this scene. 12:40 He damn sure did and escaped, the door was open for a pretty long time. Season 2 was excellent, but season 3 is short and sweet. Where you're heading you might not believe when you get there. You will not be disappointed, that's a promise!! Loved the reaction and looking forward to Season 3 w/ you. Til then.

Now you understand why Dean never wants to take Jo anywhere. It's not that he thinks she can't do it, but he'd rather she hate him and she be safe than the opposite. I notice you question alot of why Sam and Dean try to do everything themselves during these reactions. As a guy, I can tell you that's normal. Dean cares about her like Ellen does, Sam died because of this.

I sobbed so much in this episode especially when John saved them

When John's spirit comes out of Hell and grabs the demon long enough for Dean to shoot it... Still gives me chills, even more than a decade later. It's so perfect, yet it's something you don't see coming at all. Best episode of the series, by far.

RU-vid ate my comment. As per wiki, he sat with his corpse for like a week. Am thinking 3 days or more. But since its Dean, I have no trouble believing that he would not let go of Sam's corpse like never. Moving on to an awesome Season 3!!! And hey, you take your time. Yes, I am a Dean girl so I guess I’m biased but it blows my mindddd how little people care about what Dean is going through. Like everything is “oh my god Sam this” and “oh my god Sam that”...does no one care how Dean has to WATCH all of his little brothers struggles and feels helpless when it comes to saving him?? like am I the crazy one here? I love your videos. I love your intelligent analysis and your deep understanding of human nature and the relationship between Sam and Dean. I found Supernatural this year, when my sister was watching it and I became hooked and went back to the beginning and watched 13 seasons back to back. Watching these videos is like discovering it all over again and the best part is that I know you are going to find that it only gets better. The writing, acting, directing, effects, music and every tiny detail is flawless all the way.

Wow... so much to say, but I won't go on and on like I could. First... thank you again for another great reaction! Like I said, this episode and its Part One are among my absolute favorites overall. And the earlier seasons for me are better than the last few. I love the first two seasons above all the rest and while some of the other seasons coming up are good too, I mostly like just certain episodes within them more the the seasons in their entirety. But with that being said... Supernatural is still good, I still enjoy it for the most part, and there's lots of excitement and new fun characters to come. Now... Jeffrey Dean Morgan who plays John Winchester... he is a very busy actor and it was extremely difficult for the show's creators to get him back, even though Jeffrey loved being a part of Supernatural. And he did so much and was very sad to have to leave the show for other jobs. This is way they could only get him back for this brief scene in the end. As for his character... the creators wanted to give the boys a little bit of peace of mind in the end and so they had John climb out of Hell so he could come in to save his sons. And because like you said, the gates to Hell were closed and John was able to escape, his soul moved on to a better place... Heaven. Now the boys don't know for sure where he is now, but they choose to believe he's in a better place and he's finally safe. I loved this moment too. Amazing!!!! As for Sam's telekinesis power... at this point in the show, I almost feel like it was something the creators had Sam do once to show he was capable of more and that it was like something they forgot about. Because like you, I was getting frustrated we haven't seen him use his abilities again. However, I believe it's also because Sam has been so afraid of his visions and of turning evil, that especially when he learned in Part One that the others like him could develop more powers within them, Sam grew even more afraid of what he would become if he accepted his other gifts. And rightly so, seeing as Ava, Jake, Andy's twin brother, and Max Miller all turned evil with their abilities. Andy was the only one he really knew who didn't ever turn, even though he did develop his power further. But Sam is still just so afraid of becoming evil, so he suppresses his gifts as much as he possibly can. That's why I feel like he hasn't used his telekinesis ability. I loved how Dean fought for Sam and was so broken upon losing him, as Sam was broken upon learning that Dean sacrificed his life for him to save him. I loved how Sam vowed he would find a way to save Dean in the end, but it's still just so sad. Honestly, it was wrong of Dean to sell his soul for Sam, even though I understand wholeheartedly why he did so. But after all Dean knew about what happens to those who sell their souls, even for the right reasons, it isn't good and it's hardest on those they leave behind. In this case... Sam and Bobby. Also... it was great that Yellow Eyes is finally dead!!! And Jake too. Unfortunately, the gates of Hell has been opened, so there are a ton more demons on the loose. Lastly... I was happy to see Ellen again. I'm glad she survived, though I was sad that Ash died. Overall... I loved this episode so much! I look forward to more reactions from you as we get into season three. I don't care about it so much, because there are fewer episodes that I like, but there are also some really phenomenal episodes in it too. So, until time... Thank you again!

My thought about John was (when I saw season 2 for the first time) that he is a ghost on earth now. Because he just disappeared like a ghost. At my opinion he can't just go to heaven because his soul is marked for hell. But like you said, the gate to hell is closed again. So I thought he is a ghost - trapped between the worlds now.

I was so angry when I watched this episode on my own and John returned. I hate this man so much and I can understand when people don't see it that way but I think he was a horrible father. So I wasn't happy when he returned. But still, I love this episode. Jensen is so amazing with emotional scenes

You're actually watching one of the very best episodes of one of the very best seasons (season 2) the only season that's equal in terms of quality would be season 4 and season 5.
