I have... mixed feelings about the series finale. It broke my fucking heart... I think the only times I've ever sobbed that hard were over Mother 3, Persona 4 (not specifying because spoilers), and episode 8 of Black Bullet. You know the episode. If you don't, look up "lolis getting bombed Black Bullet". you'll find the one. Oh yeah, and a few times during Endwalker.
I love the way Sam gets off the tour bus as fast as he can when he heard Gilmore Girls but like Dean giving the thumbs up in the background just steals the cake
I love it even more bc the tour guide said that they could have met the star of Gilmore girls and he was already there. Sam getting off so quickly was like he didn't want anyone to recognise him
The amount of second hand embarrassment I got from Jensen and Jared playing Sam and Dean playing Jensen and Jared playing Sam and Dean is just beyond everything 😂😂
Honestly this aspect of the show elevated it massively. This was such a genius thing to do and the amazing thing is that they did it way back when. If they had done it later, like s13,14.., it could have been weird and cheap but this has been a part of the show since early on and they explored it just the perfect amount. Not too much to make it uncomfortable, just an episode every few seasons. I love it.
I absolutely agree. Those were also my favourite episodes but i am glad they didn’t do too many of these cause as you’ve said it would be very weird and cheap
Unparalleled? I get it was a show, but the show had both Truth and Fiction. Can we also maybe it was also parallel to the world we live in? Well, I'm just going based on how I lived my 38yrs so far from seeing 15 Seasons. I'm going over the whole show 2nd time around while sharing with my current boyfriend who is catching up watching the show 1st time around. He's watching Season 11 closer to going on Season 12.
Fan Fiction is one of the best episodes of SPN. It’s one the top favorite episodes from the fans. It also has a 9.4/10 score on IMDB. Which shows most people loved the episode.
A few seasons later, Castiel was the embodiment of those guys who didn't lay off, and Dean was the show saying over and over, "It's always been YOU...and me" to SAM! Salute to the bold middle finger :D
@@shrutimahant nah sorry i can’t accept that when he said “it’s always been you and me” he meant it as anything else than just siblings. it just doesn’t make sense in my head tbh
@@shrutimahant actually dean and cas are married in heaven and live w their son jack and visit sam and eileen and dean jr every weekend ! cas told me this himself
Not to mention all the times they referenced Thursday. The day of the week that the show aired. For example, Dean saying something like "oh another monster, it must be Thursday" or them referencing Castiel as the "Angel of Thursday." All subtle fourth wall breaks 😂
The whole paper aeroplane "incident" happened years after they filmed The French Mistake, but in the words of Dean Winchester 'Accidents don't just happen accidentally'.
i love how they play up the misha/cas contrast, like when you can see him getting into character when he thinks "jared and jensen" are trying to rehearse with him, and of course his reactions when he gets attacked, the high voice and all
The way they called out the fan fiction writers. I've never written any fanfiction about supernatural but seeing those episodes kind makes me worry that the canonical characters of the other fandoms I'm in are aware of the stories and art that I've done
@@somber.cosmos8381 there's just so much to unpack here y'know, like the fact that this is the same guy that makes the "I thought you and Dean were joined at the...you know, everything" comment before this...or that this was an episode written by the showrunner himself...so many thoughts
Wait i don't get it... Someone explain plz. Here's a 💐 for all of you because it's almost Valentine's day and if you don't celebrate Valentine's day take it! You deserve it!
@@iminurwalls69 okey okey okey, so how I took it, is that they use Cas as bait in this particular scene, but in the show overall they use/used Cas as queerbait...and it really just hit me watching that scene
@@hooly_crab9560 okay, that makes me incredibly sad wtf dude, they really didn't give a shit about cas did they? Take a piece of cake for your broken heart 🍰, I hope you have a spectacular day!
@@iminurwalls69 Doesn’t seem like it😔 He deserves/deserved the world, the best character Here’s some cake for you as well🍰 Hope you have a good day too!!
when metatron was talking it just made me realize how they willingly and knowingly strung the audience along for So Many Seasons and. ugh. i love supernatural but sometimes i hate it too
Omg I didn't even catch the gilmore girls one until this compilation. That's fucking amazing! Sam looks so scared to meet his past from another life. 🤣🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏👏
Really changed the dynamic of first chunk episode when you watch it knowing Chuck is just playing a character the entire time. God is a good actor apparently.
10:31 I love how Dean's first thought is "ew, we're brothers" not "ew, we're not gay." I appreciate that on so many levels. Also, great vid! This distracted me from the hell outside my window for a tad. Cheers, mate.
@@LinkJTO i didn't hate it in fact I cried a lot because of it but there were definitely some parts I was very unhappy/unsatisfied with. It could have been a lot better if it wasn't rushed and if Dean had a more honoring death
@@LinkJTO I mean, I def consider erasing the character's development and not letting them have a rest or be happy/have a satisfying ending a shitty ending
@@LinkJTO me too! I mean I get why some people didn't like it but you have to consider Dean's character. He deserved the happy life without God controling it but at the same time if Dean didn't get a big hunt in the long run, it would have been horrible on his mental health. He's lived his entire life thriving on trauma and that does something to a person. To remove that from the equation may seem sunshine and rainbows at first but eventually it can lead to many psychological issues like paranoia and hallucinations among others. Sam on the other hand adjusts to his surroundings, surviving without hunting would be easy for him. So I think it fit, though they could have ended it on Bobby saying time move differently in heaven and Sam would be there before long. Showing his entire life was a bit of an overkill but I enjoyed it so I'm not complaining.
You know, not that I have started reading fanfic for a couple of months I 100% understand why becky was so weird when she first appeared. If I met my favourite fictional character I too would go insane.
Yes, I think they did. They literally made themselves the final villain. Chuck had been a stand in for the writers. So the brothers defeating Chuck for free will was supposed to be seen as the writers being defeated. And Cas was also a meta metaphor. Chuck says in the fourth season that he wasn't supposed to be there, then in the fifteenth season says that in the stories Cas was just supposed to do what he was told and leave, but this Cas didn't. That was supposed to represent how Cas was only supposed to be on the show for a bit and even thought they reatedly tried to write him off he would always come back. He was the epitome of free will (and representative of the audience). They were meta until the end. Even having Becky come back to say how the audience didn't want a sad ending, she literally says no that's a terrible ending, and no Cas! Then that is the exact ending they gave us. They said in the beginning of season 15 exactly how it was going to end: not how the audience wanted. terrible.
You can tell they didn't originally have a plan for Chuck to be God by the way he reacts to meeting them. It's just something that they thought "Hey, this actually could work" and they were right. If only the other CW writers were that good at improvisation while keeping some semblance of consistency **cough** Riverdale
the creator of this clip put a ton of effort into it and it shows. Great editing, I loved the little details and references explained. They flew right past me when I watched it a decade ago
The fact that Sam and Ruby are married IRL blows my FUCKING MIND. I thought it was a joke the first time I watched it, but I searched it up and holy shit
9:12 if there’s ever a continuation/retcon of Supernatural (like the new Dexter show) they’re gonna shade the fuck out of that “finale” Mark my words lol
"what makes a story good? is it the writer, the characters?.. the text... the..subtext" "ofcourse, the homo-erotic subtext of supernatural" "oh its just subtext.. but then again, you know you cant spell subtext without s-e-x" I LOVE THIS SHOW
That's the thing. That's why I liked Supernatural, that's why I like Rick and Morty, that's what amuses me the most in David Foster Wallace's or Kurt Vonnegut's books. The Meta Funny™ xD
