It's been way too long since putting out a video. Life has really gotten in the way but I've decided to hold myself accountable to write and release more music, either in video form or otherwise. I love my Deluge and having the ability to write an entire song on just one machine, but lately, I've felt a draw to craft something with the semi-modular Moog setup. It takes longer, and I sometimes get decision fatigue, but in the end, it always feels like it's worth it.
This piece started on the Subharmonicon. Combining its 6 oscillators and running it through the Strymon Blue Sky and Hologram Microcosm gave me some really cool unexpected overtones. Of course, I had to use the Deluge somehow, so I set up a drum loop there. The mighty Minitaur provides the bass, which I play live, and toward the end, I bring in the Aerospace Atmosphere for a bit of lift.
This was all played live, but when I finished it, I thought it needed something, so I decided to overdub a guitar track, and now it feels complete. The guitar was done in just one take so while it's not perfect, it still has that "live" feel.
