I watched the first takeoff of the XB-70 in 1964. I was not quite 8. My dad got me up very early and we drove to the perimeter road that paralleled Plant 42. Quite possibly the loudest thing I ever heard. Once again Mike, your model collection is amazing and I learn something every video.

My dad was a junior engineer on the XB-70, it's always been my favorite bomber.

I recommend everyone should go to the Air Force museum in Dayton Ohio. Looking at small scale models is nice, but looking at these marvels of Aviation in person really blows you away. I recently went for the first time and I was amazed not just by the aircraft on display but also with the stories, history and knowledge of the personnel there. I was like a kid in Candy land.

The XB-70 is my all time favorite plane, just a beautiful design. I was lucky enough to see her at the Airforce museum back in the 90s. I was shocked by the size of the aircraft! Just eminence! I was able to get up close and look inside, I flashed my McDonnell Douglas badge and they were nice enough to let me see the cockpit. So cool. Great info on this video! Thanks

This is my favorite of all your Celebration of Aviation videos. I have admired the B58 Hustler supersonic bomber since I was a child and my father gave me a very cool vinyl toy replica in about 1959 or 1960. Wish I had not played with it so roughly and that it had survived my childhood. 9-10 year old version of me failed to fully understand the difference between static display and flying models. I frequently crash landed my plastic model aircraft on the sidewalk in front of our house. I love your collection of aircraft display models! You did an excellent job of showing your viewers the evolution of supersonic bombers and put the B58 into a nicely illustrated historical context. Thank you Mike!

Great side-by-side comparison. Never realized the F-111 bomber variant was capable of faster speeds than that of the B-58. Wonderful models as well. Have you done an episode on the British V-force? Thanks and keep up the great videos.

Excellent presentation of some of the most incredible aircraft ever flown. I learned a lot watching this one. Beautiful models too. Thank you Mike.

I had a friend who was a Captain in the USAF when the B-58 was coming into service in the early 60's. He gave a briefing to some Airforce officers, and for some interest in the briefing, he talked about the new B-58 from the information on a model kit box, he just bought at the base BX. Later that day he was called to the base commander's office. He was ask were he got the classified information about the B-58. He told the commander from a model box he bought at the BX that day. Love the channel. 🛫 Cheers ☕☕👮‍♀

Saw the XB-70 fly as a young boy in 1965 at an airshow at Edwards AFB. Between the B-58 Hustler flying chase and the XB-70 itself, they were both bigtime LOUD. I was 8 years old at the time and was duly impressed even at that young age!

All your epsodes are great. Lots of information, to the point and just the right amount of fluff. I build a Lindberg model of the B-70. then I would run around the house flying it with my hand. Thanks for your videos, they are a great way to end the day..... Keep the blue side up.......

The early B-58 concept MX 1626 shows how serious they thought the mission was with only a nod to practicality - the disposable lower half of the aircraft contained not only weapon and fuel but the search radar and nose landing gear (the main aircraft was to have a secondary nose gear or skid).

From the first time I saw the XB-70 in a book about unusual aircraft, it has been my favorite aircraft. Such a beautiful aircraft in flight with the wing tips at 25 deg.
