Mike Jizzwalker well you never know like with out his suit he is just like a form of energy maybe thats why they made him like that not saying I like it or that movie but there really the only explanation
Unicron I guess. Galactus gets weaker over the time he doesn't feed or uses his powers, and Unicron doesn't have the problem of losing power. Plus even if Galactus destroy Unicron's body, he can survive as a "spirit". ThT is what I think at least, what are your thoughts on this? :)
Yeah... do too the power Cosmic being described as like endless unthinkable power I believe the silver surfer or anybody possessing it for that matter could kill Unicron. As I recall Unicron has a "heart" that if destroyed he dies. I may be wrong on that though.
+EpicHeracross He was supposted to appear fully in either the planned third Fantastic four movie or silver surfer spin off i dont remember which... But they said that they didn't want him to appear fully for just one second and wanted his role to be bigger before making him appear fully
The cloud of fart gas was a huge let down in the Rise of the Silver Surfer. I wanted to see Big G, not what happens when he breaks wind. The comic version of Galactus is awesome, Fart Gas Galactus can kiss my vacuum cleaner's exhaust pipe. End of mini-rant.
zobitX I mean that I was expecting to see a giant Galactus like in the comic and not some stupid cloud of gas. Whoever suggested that cloud should be fired and never allowed to write again.
Your not the only one, I was like since the silver surfer is in this movie, that means Galactus must be present but when I saw that space cloud I promptly took the disk out, went back to Wal-Mart and demanded for a refund
So many villains we still need to see. Galactus, Dr.Doom.... That's just a few. If i should make a movie about him, it would be the last of a 5 movie series with Fantastic 4. To make this movie #2 would be insane.
+ArthaxtaDaVince777 The Living Tribunal is well above Galactus' power range and is considered one of the most powerful in the Marvel universe. Even the mighty Infinity Gauntlet is beneath him!! Only the Falcrum and The One Above All are more powerful.
There is no such thing as Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer. That is a myth and a joke some troll on 4chan made to piss off the comic book community.
Galactus is not a villain. He's a force of nature, beyond good and evil, an oversight the near- omnipotent being called the Beyonder failed to realise when he placed Galactus amongst the villains in the original "Secret Wars"
Just imagine. The Avengers, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy, Fantastic Four, Inhumans, and Defenders versus Galactus in one grand finale. Galactus is the epitome of *Endgame*
Steven Santos All of those teams are ants to Galactus.. i.imgur.com/9q6ze7d_d.jpg?maxwidth=640&shape=thumb&fidelity=medium There is a few characters on Marvel earth that can beat Galactus, like: 1. Franklin Richards 2. HoM Scarlet Witch 3. Molecule Man And 4. Mad Jim Jaspers (possibly) Everyone else on those teams that you listed get blinked out of existence by Galactus..
Chris_Emiliano Galactus did appear in Fantastic 4 rise of the silver surfer, but all that was shown was a fucking cloud... By the way Galactus is probably not going to be making any appearances in the mcu anytime soon considering the fact that he's owned by Fox. As for him appearing in Xmen, that's also very unlikely because he's a main antagonist to the Fantastic four.
Probably because they didn't know how to portray a giant big lipped dude in a purple fantasy suit in a live-action movie without him looking extremely silly and not at all threatening or god-like. Not saying the cloud-thing was a good alternative, but c'mon, look at the guy. How is he supposed to work in live-action without a major design-change?
What I hate about this Marvel universe is the fact that the supervillains are obviously way to powerful for the Avengers to ever defeat them, common. Thanos, Ultron, Galactus....Avengers dont have shit on them
The Avengers actually have shit on them, but only if they fight together. But if its only in 1 on 1, then only Thor and Hulk (and maybe Iron man with his latest armors) would be able to do any noticeable damage. But as a team, Hulk and Thor would be those that would lead the heavy attacks, Iron man could make up a gadget that can suppress the villain's attacks along with dealing some damage himself. While Cap could find weaknesses on the villain's attacks so that the heavy hitters can deal more damage, as well as his shield might become pretty useful considering that it can tank most of the attacks the villain can launch (even tho it might break sooner or later in this case).
Hell no. Thor is crazy strong like the shit he's done with the odinforce. And seriously? THE FUCKING HULK is on the avengers. Even thanos tries to avoid fighting hulk if possible. Iron Man's suits get insanely improved upon as he develops them as well (flying at mach 8.7 and tanking multiple nukes level) and holy shit dont even get me started on captain america.
Wait wait, there was a WatchMojo list for the worst super villain portrayals right? If there isn't one, please make one and put Galactus from FF4 : Rise of the Silver Surfer... ..and venom from Spider-Man 3.
The reason Galactus can be used so much in comics despite all his power is because unlike other cosmic beings (such as Eternity and Infinity) he doesn't have unlimited power all the time. He begins to lose power when he doesn't feed, which is what gives weaker characters a shot if they're in big enough teams. For example a STARVING Galactus was beaten by a team of The Avengers, The Fantastic Four and Dr Strange. If you don't know Dr Strange, he's powerful enough to take the other teams himself.
Yup. Thanos is just a warm up. Sadly galactus may not happen till marvel gets all its movie rights back from fox. Getting spiderman from Sony for civil war was a good start tho.
***** I know he is, I'm talking about the movieverse... hence the mention of Sony. Anyways, where is Galactus confirmed for the infinity war movie? Fox has the rights for Galactus because of Fantastic Four. So yea, like I said no Galactus till Marvel gets their rights back.
Lol you think thanos is a warm up for the avengers? Thanos is one of the most powerful villains ever with the IG, which he will use in the new avengers movie
I'm on a binge of Supervillian Origins. Almost all bad guys seem the same. Some random occurrence formed the most evil and powerful thing EVER and absolutely nothing can stop it. Until the good guys come along and find a way to stop it. Still, it's pretty fun to watch.
The thing is Galactus devours planets not because he's evil and just wants to kill people, it's because he HAS TO. He feeds on planets as his source of energy, he has no other choice, he's just surviving really.
Like the summary. Felt let down by his appearance in the Fantastic Four movie. Now you could see his general shape when Silver Surfer entered the cloud but there seemed to be absolutely no power there and he was easily dispatched by Silver Surfer.
+KumaoftheForest Too many writers involved. Every time they change writers, the story and characters change to some degree. For example, it's one of the reasons (if not *the* reason) Superman became increasingly powerful over the years. Reboots and retcons are other consequences, with the former usually happening because a new writer might think that the previous one(s) fucked things up and they want to bring the comic back on track again.
Peter Parker, Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne have more or less one fixed origin story. The problem is that different writers have different visions for the characters.
The big bangs event horizon? I thought only black holes had an event horizon? Well, whomever came up with this pre big bang idea, I applaud them, science fiction use to be awesome and thought provoking.
Supposedly there's a black hole at the center of the universe each time there's a big bang. Just so everything can clash back together and explode once more. But given the theories of entropy, I'm doubtfall it's a real thing. But I do like sci-fi so I'll just work with it lol.
Big bangs are white holes. (The other end of a black hole opening /leading to a new/different dimension(wormhole)) it was on something I read many years ago. Do consisting top paraphrase.
I remember reading long ago a really cool encounter between the phoenix rachel summers/grey and galactus....Big G was starving and about to devour a planet and was beaten pretty easily by rachel but he overwhelmed her on another level by just being the entity he is without human emotion describing the purpose of the phoenix and how it wasn't anymore innocent in the scheme of things then he is was a very cool thing to see....rachel was so shammed she just flew away and galactus continued his meal was a interesting contrast of the cosmic beings.
Don't get me wrong please, I do love Galactus... one of the most interesting and powerful comic book characters from either Marvel or DC. But people seem to think he is the strongest or one of them, truth is there are tons of characters that are way more powerful than him...take the Living Tribunal and The-One-Above-All (the two most powerful beings in the Marvel universe).
but exactly how often has the living tribunal appeared in comic books? the only one i know of is the infinity gauntlet series, and then The-One-Above-All i think he's appeared even less.
I think that the strongest beings on the Marvel Universe are 1 - One Above All 2 - the Beyonder 3 - Living Tribunal 4 - Galactus I'm not 100% sure, so correct me if I'm wrong
what movie was that clip of Galactus and the silver surfer...? Not the sucky cloud that was supposed to be Galactus in the F4 movie, but the clip that looked like a cartoon/3d Animation.
Actually that cloud was the outer layer of Galactus. When the Surfer gets to the core we a being of energy that's appearance looks like the trademark helmet. I would've prefered an actor or something that showed real sentience,
Am I the only one that would like to see a battle between these five: Doomsday vs Darkseid vs Thanos vs Galactus vs Apocalypse. the battle would take place on the earth.
Alex Carr hey would you happen to know if ''the origin of galactus'' is just a newer version of ''galactus the origin''? cause i have galactus the origin but it has the same things shown in the vid and the comic in the vid is the origin of galactus
Edgar Ledesma I can't say for sure but I think they may be the same but tweaked. Its a guess, I do not known either but I think I read one of them but no clue which. Sorry I cant be more helpful.
i wonder now dragonball Universe expanded to 12 universes soo what if Beerus , Glacutus ,champa, Darksied and thanos meets and have cup of coffie I sound so stupid lol
Walder Hodor Forget that dumbass movie? There was no movie called Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Anyone who says differently is a filthy liar and should be banished to the desert of no return.
+rubikfan1 actually he eats planets to sustain himself. if he didn't keep eating he would die. and he himself stated "I will give back as much as I take from the universe
The Living Tribunal is (just)the 2nd most powerful being in the Marvel Universe (The One Above All is top). The Living Tribunal destroyed the Infinity Gauntlet with ease.
Pple make this guy like he's one of the OP charecters in Marvel universe😇, well guess what he ain't❌.... I can name 10 mutants not just comics but mutants that r way powerful than this dude😊😊.
+Jesus Ramirez Romo no not Apocalypse, but Matthew Malloy, Scarlet Witch, Franklin Richards, MJJ, Legion, Onslaught, Hope Summers, Selene. Nate Grey, Vulcan and Iceman r OP as well but i don't think they can take down Galactus but IMO they can give him a good fight.
+Guled Abdo do you even remotely know what powers Galactus has? Thanos being as overpowered as he is could take on the names u just named out. And if Thanos can't even land a single hit on Galactus, than I think you're in for a shock.
+Carlos MagicSchoolBus Franklin Richards owns Galactus now, and Matthew Malloy can own Franklin Anytime he wishes.. I'm pretty much aware of what Galactus is capable of, but one word of the Scarlet Witch "no more Galactus" can erase Galactus from existence, MJJ is stronger than Galactus and same goes to Onslaught and Hope Summers. The Phoenix Force made Galactus what he is now so all of those charecters r above Galactus.
lol the marvel power scaling is so full of shit. thanos with the infinity gauntlet actually still fights people. if he is so god like why can't he just kill them with a blink of his eye? same with galactus. not to mention these so called "god like" people do get beaten some other heros in the marvel universe. ok so wtf is with the reality warping shit? if someone can reality warp then wouldn't they be like the strongest? as far i know the celestials can reality warp but yet they are not the strongest. so basically lets say both the celestials and galatus are god like so if they were to fight then the first one to wish the other out of existence wins? even then, they still actually "fight" with marvel heros. i believe celestials have fought with odin and the other gods before? if they truly were what their abilities say they are then why do they have to attack? they can just win with a blink of an eye.(they do have attacks so that means they really need to attack to win they can't just blink an eye) and lets say somebody already has control over everything like for example thanos with the infinity gaunlet how exactly is there somebody stronger than him? i mean he has control of everything................ marvel is so full of shit lol.
Thanos /w IG was only fighting ppl when he weakened himself to put on a show for Death. When he was fighting with his full power he was fighting the Cosmic Abstracts. If someone can warp reality it doesn't mean theyre the strongest. Its a huge power though. There are beings with power over the entire multiverse. The most powerful reality warper has only shown to have warp over a single universe. Galactus won't beat the Celestials, there are so many of them. Unless he's at full power which has been stated that he's equal to Eternity. Then he would probably beat the Celestials. Nobody was stronger than Thanos /w IG. Except The Living Tribunal. Thanos just has some a subconscious inferiority complex that makes himself lose. The only true god of Marvel is TOAA (which is the Marvel company itself).
You don't know much about D.C. comics do you? PLENTY of ridiculously powered "godlike" beings there . 1) The Spectre 2) The Anti-monitor (He eats freaking universes). 3) Mr Mxyzptlk (D.C. has said he can literally change the laws of logic itself, and he's not even top dog) 4) Elaine Belloc 5) Michael Demiurgos 6) Nekron 7) Kismet 8) The Endless (7 different characters ) 9) Eclipso 10) Superman Prime One Million (a version of Superman that can destroy entire galaxies and warp reality ) I could go on.
Onieracraft To be fair, what the dude said earlier about Marvel can be used agaisnt DC as well, as a matter of fact, any comic book for this matter is a fucking mess, they have a shit load of stories being made at the same time by different writers, years of stories and a shit load of characters, theres no way it could not be a mess, they even try to solve the problems that all of this bring by making those crises and shit but its impossible, the fact is that any comic book company make a mess and is full of bullshit, even Star Wars comic book sucked, to the point where there are comics where Boba Fett defeat Darth Vader in a fist combat... no jokes, and it was not even the first time that Bobba Fett defeated Darth mothafucking Vader...
he will END the worlds good thing I beat him in the GAME I also sent a letter at the POST office I give CREDIT I also like SCENE in movies check all capitals of words
He is the devourer of worlds! Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we’ll be exploring the comic book origins of Galactus. As with most comic book characters, there are often re-imaginings and different versions to a character’s past. We have chosen to primarily follow the storyline that unfolded in 1966’s Fantastic Four #48, which was expanded upon in 1996’s Origin of Galactus #1. A nearly omnipotent being from the Marvel universe, Galactus is the sole survivor of a universe that existed before the Big Bang. Born billions ago on the technologically advanced paradise world of Taa, he was once named Galen, and became aware that all currently existing life was about to end abruptly with the occurrence of the big bang. With his people dying of radiation poisoning, he decided to bravely fly his spaceship into the Big Bang’s event horizon in an attempt to sacrifice himself and neutralize its formation. However, once inside he discovered a cosmic entity called “the sentience of the Universe”, who merged with him as the big bang decimated and fertilized. Resurrected, he drifted for billions of years in an inert state until he was happened upon by a Watcher, a member of an advanced alien species studying the cosmos and practicing non-interference. Giving into his curiosity, the watcher inadvertently awoke Galactus. Having become a life form of pure energy, Galactus formed a body suit to regulate his boundless power and entered a new state of hibernation that would allow him to evolve into his final form. This incubation period ended when he fed upon the elemental energy of a nearby planet and crafted a reproduction of his long-destroyed homeworld, which he called Taa II. In the millennia that followed, Galactus fed upon the energies of countless uninhabited worlds, and the time needed between feedings continued to diminish. Eventually, he lost all reservations about annihilating life forms and turned his attention to inhabited worlds, seeing himself as a superior being that kept the balance between death and eternity. Galactus then came upon the planet of Zenn-La, and was convinced by one of its natives to show mercy in exchange for loyal service as his Herald. Bestowed with the “Power Cosmic”, this selfless being became the Silver Surfer, who would act as Galactus’ scout and seek out new planets for his master to devour. It was he who then discovered earth… At this time, a visiting Watcher recognized the imminent danger, and decided to intervene by forming a barrier around the planet. With the Surfer making his way through the enclosure with ease, a message was sent to his master, who quickly arrived in his giant ship only to be met by the Fantastic Four. Ignoring their pleas, Galactus formed a ray to convert the planet’s elemental energy. However, the Silver surfer felt pity for the humans and decided to help the Fantastic 4 restrain Galactus. While the Thing destroyed the world-consuming device, the Watcher transported The Human Torch to Taa II to retrieve a powerful weapon called “The Ultimate Nullifier.” With the Fantastic Four threatening to use the Nullifier to destroy Galactus, he was forced to promise not to harm their world in exchange for the weapon’s return. However, Galactus eventually returned out of desperation for his Herald to rejoin him, and to claim Earth’s life energy, thus spurring a face off against Earth’s mightiest heroes, the Avengers. An unrivalled force, Galactus has demonstrated a vast and never-ending array of incredible powers, including taking on the appearance of whatever species looks upon him and resurrecting the dead. He continues to appear in countless media, and marked his live action debut in 2007’s “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.” Are you a Galactus fan? Thanos (infinity gaunet) + Darkseid + Apocalypse + Doomsday + Galactus + Vulcan + Onslaught + every other supervillain in dc and marvel. Give Batman a few days and he'll be ready
+Jack Houlihan pls bro, not again with that dude! He is a stupid human who thinks that he is capable of such thing, sure when he is fighting the likes of Joker etc, but Darkseid!?? All i can think of is to laugh at him and those who make him fight them.
Enlighten me then, how could Doctor Who take on Galactus, he would dissolve him with his mind! He once moved a galaxy from one end of the Universe, to the other end (the Universe is infinite.)
Well, the universe isn't really infinite, and Galactus moving a galaxy would not really do anything to The Doctor, and The Doctor could for example blow up the T.A.R.D.I.S that would destroy the universe and Galactus. And thats just one of the things he could do.
Angumar But you see, in Marvel the Universe, it IS infinite. And Galactus is a force of nature, killing him would simply kill that version of Galactus (just like Doctor Who, Marvel and DC have the Multiverse theory.) Also the Celestials could make Galactus immortal. And The One Who Is Above All could rebuild the Universe.
Its Official!! British actor Ralph Ineson will play the Devourer of Worlds for the new Fantastic Four movie of the MCU. I'm eager to see him how they adadpted.
Dragon ball series was fun when we were younger. the writers on the show were crap and made humans weak and worthless. the powers the characters displayed were way over the top. i hate it when people do the whole vs. thing with Marvel and DBZ.
Richard Löwenherz We look back on older franchises from when we were kids some hold up and others do not. This may be because we become more mature or simply desensitized. DBZ/GT is not a bad show but come one man. DBZ writers were sooo bad I mean I can destroy this planet with one little finger beam yet I have to power up for 3 episodes to destroy Namek?
God, not being a comic book fan I didn't realise just how cliche their characters, story lines and origins are... Thank God for Breaking Bad and Game of Throne! As far from cliche as something can get.
Not only Stronger, but way, way way more versatiles, and is a Force of Nature, he is a Billions of Years Old Cosmic Entity (He was there before the Big Bang), He is a Balence within the Marvel Universe, a balence between Death and Lifes, he can bring Death when there is too many lifes among the Cosmos, and bring Lifes when there is too many Deaths, among the Cosmos. Lady Death take care about the Death Domain Eternity/Infinty take care about the Creation of Life/Time The 3 of them are the Equillibrium in the Marvel Universe.
I might think your top tens are always missing something, but your origins work is great. Even one or two things that this old nerd/geek did not know. (Generalising from the footage I have watched, thus far, on the many different posts.) Thank you very much. These save me explaining things to some of my mates, who are getting into comics for the first time, all thanks to the movies. So, thank you also, for saving me time. :)
Father galactus: I’m home with planets. Kids: YAY Father galactus: Try one Kids: ok Kids: Mmm what is that cream in the middle Father galactus: Oh that’s the core of some of the planets
Galactus isnt evil. Uatu even says this. He isnt evil nor is he good. Galactus is a necessary part of the universe. His existence is necessary to preserve everything that exists or will exist. The heros and other characters in marvel are just too limited to understand what role he serves. To the heros death is bad and life is something that needs to be preserved. The university is far more complex than the morality of mortals. They lack the perspective necessary to really see everything for what it is. Death is necessary, death is important, death is sacred. Death, Eternity and Galactis all have their rolls to play. Eternity(all that is), Death(all that was) and Galactus to make balance between these. Death, and Galactus are not evil counterparts to Eternity, even if at times they are not on the same side. All three have functions. Look for example at a reality where life was the winner of the battle. A reality where Galactus and Death were both defeated. Reality 10011 or cancerverse. Life, growth and consumption all left unchecked. Without the balance death provides, life in the universe grows more dense as time passes. With this endless growth comes endless corruption since things that should die dont. In this reality elder gods that should have died long ago are overtaking planets one by one. Life always finds a way. In our world there are animals and plants that overpopulate. This causes all sorts of problems that can even lead to ecological collapse, but given enough time it all balances out. The population will equal the resources available to be consumed. In the Cancerverse there is no balancing out. Overpopulation just continues forever. This is why Galactus is important and why he is neither good or evil. He is above such things just as Death and Eternity are. Somebody needs to check their facts. I should also mention that Galactus takes no joy in what he does. It is an uncontrollable hunger. When anybody or anything gets hungry enough the hunger takes over. Galactus' hunger is always like this leading him to suck all the nutrients out of planets across the universe. I hate it when people call Galactus a villain. He is the balance. He is needed.
*I always hear that galactus is supposed to be far above almost all beings in the comic multiverse, and yet he's always given a tough time by your average superhero. How do you create Heralds strong enough to kill you. It doesn't make any sense.
