I also wasn’t that thrilled with the messy ness of this box. Once I found out you could use water with the charcoal I was away though, supper fun. Loved all your pictures, the second one you did was lovely very eerie the mist behind the trees. Your fox 🦊 is supper cute. Have a wonderful weekend. My kitty has a fascinating with my paint water, he will sit there and watch it turn colour is doing a fun head tilt after a while he gets quite close this is when I must watch him as yep his paw is in there and he’s splashing it all over! Lol I think he’s looking for fish 🐠. Isn’t it nice to have a furry family member come help with art.

Oh I love that denim paper ! The green one is really great as well. They work perfectly with gouache ! And the waxy white pencil also exists in blue, grean and red and they look absolutely wonderful on heavy kraft. Also I'm a dumb idiot who blew on my phone to remove the chqrcoal dust from the paper.

I really needed a nice relaxing art video right now, it’s been such a week with medical issues and doctor visits and scheduling appointments. It’s a welcome change to just sit down and watch some calming artwork and narration by Kattvalk

Could be that I'm still tired after getting up, but something about the fox's fur and the blue-gray color made me think of a stingray, lol.

I never thought I would like charcoal until I took a Drawing class and I'm actually pretty good at it. One of my charcoal figure drawings is displayed at my college, so I'm proud about that. I think it's kind of weird Scrawlrbox included graphite with the charcoal though, because I was taught graphite and charcoal shouldn't be mixed. I've never actually mixed it, but it makes sense not to because charcoal is matte and graphite is shiny. I like your landscape drawings, btw. Deer are my favorite animal! 🦌

The cat playing with the pencils is the highlight of this video, not gonna lie.

I really love the side by side comparison of the two landscapes. Never get discuraged if a piece doesn't come out as you wanted to, just do it again! And in this case it turned out great!

Awesome video x Three tips 1 the graphite blocks are a fabulous thing to have as you can create your own transfer paper with them in a blink of a kitty eye, you can also get blocks in brown\sepia and White which can transfer onto coloured paper\ canvas less harshly than traditional graphite, bonus tip use them with water and a brush for graphite washes. 2 when working with crumbly media like charcoal invest in a cheap crumb buster or mini vacuum, suck up the dust by hovering above it. It will prevent accidental smears from rubbing, blowing or smearing. 3 get yourself some sheets of waxed deli paper, use it to a. Rest on (wax side down) so that you don't accidentally pull up your charcoal, pastel, chalk or graphite or smudge it. B. Use it to protect sketches in sketchbooks\paperstacks from going on to other work, I find it best if held in place with some washi tape (it's also a cool way to use your washi tape hoard a little). If you look on Amazon you can find small sheets in pretty designs for wrapping sandwiches so it can look aesthetically pleasing, I also recommend checking amazon warehouse for returns, as it's not being used for food prep so opened stock can be acquired for a reduced amount letting you invest into more art supplies! This is awesome! I have to be honest, I have been into using coloured pencils, paint pens and paint recently so I opened this box, thought "oh that's interesting" and haven't touched it since 😂 I definitely have to try that tailors chalk with water though! I love the opacity you can get with it! I wonder if it would be good for disguising the black lines in colouring pages?

I personally can't stand pastels or chalk because the TEXTURE makes me cringe like a baby 😅 it was actually very relaxing to watch this video though, for someone who doesn't use these materials that often you really outdid yourself 💜 Side note: my cat tries to steal my pencils and fineliners all the time lol

If you really want pastels without the mess you should try panpastels! They are wonderful and have less mess.. Or use the tools you can buy for the panpastels.. 😉

What is your real name ?

This is such a shitty box ngl, shame on scrawlrbox for not protecting the supplies from the candy, I would rather not get candy at all if that's too much to ask for. There's nothing wrong with messy art supplies but there is with a messy combination of art supplies. What's the point of having mate graphite pencils if you're gonna add regular graphite too? and you can't use charcoal on top of graphite even when it sounds reasonable for darker values. So you end up with supplies that are annoying to use in combination. Yeah there's good supplies in it but they don't all belong together.
