The concept of supply chain management is based on two core ideas. The first is that every product/ service that reaches an end user covers the combined efforts of many organizations. These organizations collectively are referred as the supply chain.
The second idea is that while supply chain has existed for a long time, most organization have paid attention to their activities within their "Silo". The result was disjointed and often ineffective supply chain.
