Thing is government has for the most part waged a war against Motorists and has been ignorant towards MC for decades. And in ways deliberately tryed to side line it. By making it harder to get a license, and then make it expensive or awkward to do. Personally I’m voting Reform uk. There is a clear issue with lake of new bikers. It’s down to many factors but key awkward licensing/ training, lake of awareness of MC advantages. Poor policing, insurance costs and poor roads.

I'm 52 and dying to get my big bike license,but as covered by many people in this video the cost and complexity of getting a full license is a joke I don't understand why 3 licenses are needed for different bikes ,when a new car driver can hop in a 600bhp BMW straight away it's unfair ,what an entire shit show it is , everything you covered is almost unbelievable,what are our government thinking,you have my support and all my biker friends keep up the good work

Great takes, can support. Was able to do a CBT as soon as turned 16, had a full car license a year later, with delivery companies happy to throw me behind the wheel of a van I did not feel qualified or safe to drive, school kids running around an old rattling death trap as it reversed blind. That job was minimum wage, 6 days a week one with Saturday off a month. Was years before I was in a position to have the money to pay and free time to take the full test, though felt (and was proven) fully capable to ride. Coulda been more focused and got it done it earlier, but that is the discrepancy required in commitment just to get your foot through the door.

Surely motorcycling is more eco friendly than cars? Take up less parking space, the training is far more complex and considered than any current car driver training and there is absolutely zilch training for the frankly dangerous electric cycles! If i was of a suspicious or cynical nature i would be thinking our governments just dont want to have any enjoyment in life anymore....??

Great video, full of unfortunate truths with the lack of any support for the powered 2 wheel community, my local MP is very positive, sadly many that are seem to be eternal back benchers. My local authority is no better, keep having to be reminded when consulted on road issues that they have ignored P2W vehicles completely! Keep up the great work at MAG.

It's not just motorbike license, what in my view has become very expensive. I did mine in 2022 and Direct Access did cost me in total £1200; and it took me 6 months. Not many people are fortunate enough to have the money for the license, then motorbike gear and in the end buying a motorbike. However, governments seem to be determent to make access to motor vehicles easy for younger generations. This has to do with Net Zero; find ways to take away older people the driving license, introduce more restrictions in the name of safety and make it expensive and a bureaucratic nightmare for people to get a license. I meet people who paid over £2000 and it took them over a year to get a car license. I also meet people who paid more then I did for the motorbike license.... The CBT used to be under £100, now it's at some places £200 - I paid £160 for mine.

The drop off is intentional. It was from the day the EU brought this rediculus vision zero into being. The man that came up with vision zero stated that motorcycling was a problem that would have to be removed. See various news articles of the day. The testing system needs a complete overhaul, especially that of motorcycles.

my speculations' are the police are told not to act about motorcycle theft, just like your dr's not looking after peoples health.

If you truly want something you will do all you can to get it. When you know you are a soft target, motorcycle, and at speed, you become intensely aware of everything and every road idiot. If the Gov were serious on "net zero" then they would be encouraging motorcycle use, even the current asthmatic EV offers.

Motorcycle theft is disgustingly increasing hugely.

I got into motorcycling in the 70's as did many of my mates due to the 50cc moped law (mopeds with gears). Most of us progressed to bigger bikes. It was all much easier then.

I think it would be better if the people in power who make decisions about motorcycling should actually be riders themselves or they will never understand the issues raised and never understand the pleasure individuals can get from motorcycling.

Its the stupid long winded way to get a licence

U' might say,they want us,to get the blame,as trying put us,in the same category,as cars,when we really isn't,just because we have petrol engines,(mostly),thing is,its traffic jams,that are the worst culprit,for static pollution(that's where the worsed harm is), n,'they simply dont want to understand,that we, are not part of traffic jams,n'dtsyic pollution,as a consequence,any pollution,we do cause,is quickly dispersed,in the moving air,that we,motorcycles/scooters,etc,are nearly always in,as we hardly need to stop.When i was despatch riding in the 80,s,one could drive, all over London,on varous routes,n'never stop,for a traffic light,never stop for traffic,in fact,one could sense ,when a traffic light was going green,so,if your speed was right,they would all be green in sequence,a very effective way to drive 'n arrive,in good time,staying in speed limits,'n so on,while the poor old cars,are hardly moving,prehaps we are home having supper n'so on,try n'get them to understand that,good luck,we all need to try

I'm returning to motercycling after long period, I can ride already, but still cost me £1500 to do my licence

I’ve just purchased what will be my last motorcycle. No youngsters taking it and all that is left is a lot of fat, old, grey haired men. I accept there is a smattering of younger riders, including some ladies which is quite refreshing. The licence farce needs to be sorted out.

Im pretty sure our community is on its own. If anything, all motorcycle clubs and similar should join together in order to make events and attract the young. I would also attach mens mental health to it, which is on the extreme nowadays.

Currently in process of getting A licence and done CBT,theory,MOD 1 and so far cost me over a grand and hoping to pass MOD 2 first time aswell,everything is becoming expensive including insurance etc and one day hopefully everyone has enough of the scams and corruption and protest and make the world come to a stand still and wouldn't take long for them to change things as we have the power and not the government's etc

Not an apples to apples comparison but the government tried to lower cost of a hgv license by removing the need to do class 2 before class 1... All this done was double the price of a class 1 licence by driving schools. Basically if you lower the cost of getting a licence, the riding schools are likely to suffer

Hi just had a bike stolen from outside a large outer London dealer they have only phoned me once with me initiating the call no liability even though they parked it can't buy a new bike because not enough money back to buy a equal bike holiday cancelled and support as I'm concerned none think in UK we are done unless we fight not talk but that's not Britain' talk until we are no longer allowed to ride then it's f^^^kin to late

If we were treated like z minority religious group, we'd all get free bikes & free meet up areas every time we pray to the god of wheelies & ton up days . ......its a thought isnt it , all we need is some sort of priest or head of our church .!

The reason why mp's are like this towards motorcycling. Is that their voter base are mostly parents and if the mp's encourage motorcycling to younger people then their voters will vote them out, due to motorcycling being seen as more dangerous even tho its really not, its the rider not the transport.

Use your wallets to make a point, stop buying new bikes, then the companies who have way more power, will have something to say about it. Use your consumer powers.

Ironically, talking of theft, I've had 4 bikes and five thefts. My Triumph in the 60s stolen twice, recovered first time. Yamaha in early 2000s stolen twice, recovered twice with little damage. Honda stolen in 2017, never recovered. All locked and taken from off-road location at home address. No garage so insurance prohibitive to consider another.

Im 24 and don’t feel like it’s difficult to get into. I can’t get a car test for months and lessons are expensive. For a motorbike, training is much cheaper, and accessible as there’s plenty of instructors (where in cars there’s not enough) All I needed to get on the road is a CBT. That’s about as accessible as it gets in my opinion

I have emailed 2 of my candidates, Lib Dem and Labour to ask their view on motorcycling. Both came back with fairly positive comments. I live in St. Helens North.

Point 1, a lot of fuss about nothing. Point 2, Bizarre Point 3, Equally bizarre. Whatever it is you’re trying to say you’re not saying it for me.

Bikes should be Tax free and fix pot holes
