Residual ridge resorption (RRR) is a term that is used to describe the changes which affect the alveolar ridge following tooth extractions, which continue even after healing of the extraction socket.
• There exists a wide variety of shapes and sizes of residual ridges. They are categorized into common residual ridge configuration in a system of six orders given by Atwood.

Order2-Post-extraction.
Order3-High, well rounded.
Order4-Knife-edge.
Order5-low, well-rounded
