I strapped my rake to a diesel engine, and it moves well over 1000 CFM of air around. More impressive still, when it shattered, the pieces flew off in excess of 225 mph. I can also use it silently, by moving like a ninja through the leaves. I think it earns top points across the board.

I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. ru-vid.comUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.

Gas powered lawn equipment will be outlawed sooner than you think. California has already started that movement and other states will follow. "California will outlaw the sale of new gas-powered lawn mowers, leaf blowers and chain saws as early as 2024 under a new law signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom on Saturday." Not limited to that machinery either. Anything with a small gas motor is being banned. Gas generators by 2028.

I'd love to see how the Echo DPB-2500 compares along with a Stihl BGA200. The Stihl is gonna be mighty pricey, however you might be able to contact a local Stihl dealer to borrow a demo one along with their battery backpack. The Stihl has no right to be so damn powerful, I'd take it over the handheld petrol Stihls for power. Pellenc loses on outright beans, but between the lack of noise and light weight, you always pick them over the Stihl.

I live in the country so no neighbors to bother and all it costs me is a $15 carb every few years or so because buying the whole carb is cheaper than servicing it. 15 years later it still runs like a champ and probably outperforms every single one of these battery blowers by a significant margin.

I have the DeWalt blower and can attest batteries make a big difference with a noticeable drop using the 6 Amp/Hr FlexVolt batteries over the 9 Amp/Hr FlexVolt batteries. Run time isn’t a big issue for me as I have a lot of batteries and frankly all the blowers suck regarding run time. I wish DeWalt would make some accessories like tube extensions as the biggest issue I have with their blowers are all their short length as I’m 6’6”. I also have the Gen. 1 20V blower which I find is great for blowing around the shop. I have made my own extensions with flexible cutting boards and duck tape which speeds up air speed but drops the CFM;one of the best uses I’ve found for the leaf blower is cleaning off the snow from the car in the winter. While battery blowers don’t stand up to gas units in either power or run time they are insanely more convenient as they’re really just grab and go.

I'm very interested in pressure washers... Specifically cordless ones vs gas ones. I live in a place where I don't have access to an outlet, but I do have access to a hose. Gas is definitely a no-go, but they're probably a good reference since they've been around for so long, and are the most reliable for pressure!
@Aragorn450
@Aragorn450 Год назад
I've always said that I prefer CFM to MPH for blowers... Especially since I'm here in Arizona and gravel is a common "yard decoration" because grass just doesn't grow unless you give it tons of water and you shouldn't, because, desert! Anyway, point is that with a higher wind speed, bigger and heavier things will move, which may not be what you want. So with a 190 Mph blower, you'd be blowing grooves into your "lawn" of rocks when you're really just wanting to blow away some of the leaves and mesquite beans that are accumulating. This of course is area specific though. Anywhere further north where leaves and branches are pretty common things to fall, having the extra speed is likely more of a benefit than a curse, well, until you get to your garden with the bark ground cover to keep moisture in. 😀

Add one more vote for the EGO. I have their 650 cfm model and of the 3 blowers I own, it's definitely the best one I own. I'm sure the newer more powerful model is better and should be near the top of the ranking chart when all's said and done. As far as the CAT blower goes, I think you'll find that it's specs are exaggerated. They're trying to play the numbers game and make everyone think they're the best blower out there. But from my experiences and research, the EGO OPE is really good stuff. And once you start buying into the system, you'll get other stuff to go along with it because the batteries fit in all their tools which is nice. I also have their string trimmer, their self propelled lawn mower, and the single stage snow thrower. Everything works great except the snow thrower is a little underwhelming, but not totally terrible. I've been considering getting the 2 stage 24" model but it's a little pricey for me at this point. I have the Ryobi blower, and I basically like it. It has one MAJOR flaw in my book, however. It's just about impossible to set it so it doesn't fall over. And if you're on a roof (the reason I bought it), it's likely going to roll off. It suffers from a very narrow base and a battery above its center point of gravity. I haven't had time to pursue this yet, but I'd like to see if I can easily fab a base plate for it to prevent it rolling. Other than that, getting two 40V batteries and a charger does make it more likely I'd buy another tool in the 40V family. And it does move some air.

I own the 18 V Ryobi blower, and I’ve had it for quite some time. It’s not anywhere as good as a gasoline backpack blower however it has its place in the order of things and if you have other Ryobi tools then it’s a no-brainer. I really enjoy using it to blow trash off my roof and I would never want to carry a gasoline blower up there. It doesn’t damage shingles like sweeping them with a broom. If the new model had been available when I bought this one I probably would’ve bought it mainly because it’s quieter but this was the one that was out on the market. It has a little bit short run time for my taste but if you have two or three batteries you can get through a decent size project and not run out… I wouldn’t use it for anything more then a small sidewalk or your roof but I’ll tell you what else is good for, if you want to start a burn pile or something like that it’s brilliant for fire starting, just get your kindling going and hit it with the blower

Definitely need to use the HP or Lithium+ HP batteries with it, but it's been nice overall. Man seeing how well the 40v one does makes me consider a return and swap though. I can't see myself using much else of their 40v ecosystem to justify it vs. being able to share an HP battery with the handtools that I'm much more likely to use for DIY homeowner stuff. But it's tempting.

There's a pretty decent Kobalt 80v blower that I've used. It's not horrible. Wouldn't mind seeing how it stacks up

I've had that one for a few years now. It works well other than a weird trigger that sometimes has to be pressed a few times to work.

Off topic for this video, but is there any chance of 120 volt plug in impacts being tested? I saw one on the shelf at a local autozone and it had me curious. Love what you guys do.

Sent my b model high torque in they sent me a new a model. At first I thought it was refurbished but now I'm leaning new could have been packaged better fedex just threw it around and anvil had poked through box. Just sharing what they did on mine. Reason I thought was refurbished was the rubber side bumper was nicked up and slightly torn but noticed the big staples in the box did it. Only thing that had a mark. I only had it just over a month after I saw your vid so good experience so far

As a homeowner I value quiet and decent performance and decent runtime. The straight up brushed ryobi 40v (actually 36v but you know. Bullshit marketing people) is a good choice. Yes. You should test that one. You can get more performance but at a cost.
@Jerry-zz2eu
@Jerry-zz2eu Год назад
I bought the Ryobi in september for my Pops. He loves it, and I bought is specifically for the balance and noise level. But yeah, run time is an issue with a 2 acre yard, and those 40v batteries are EXPENSIVE.

I can say, Milwaukee does indeed maintain performance longer. My Milwaukee mower runs full speed until 10 minutes past the 3 first batt lights went out. Alternatively my 20v DeWalt blower, drops off precipitously from the moment I start using it

I grabbed the 610 CFM Greenworks 60V blower for $75 tool-only new-in-box off of ebay. Not sure how it would rank, but it does the job for $75 (already had the battery so it was a no-brainer).

I'd love to see a test of the Bosch Advanced 36V-750 leaf blower as well - it claims 750 m3/h which is around 440 cfm, so it will not be the most powerful here, but might be more honest and have a better battery with the lower output?
@ryanokeefe12
@ryanokeefe12 Год назад
I would include the runtime of both ryobi batteries... That's the runtime you get with the battery power supplied in the kit.. You can also get a jump start on charging one pack while the other is in the tool OR you simply get a bonus battery for your other one+ tools.. If you arent going to factor in both packs for the run time, then you should take out the cost of one of the battery packs as you haven't allowed it to contribute to the score in any form other than cost.

It's great when a tool/battery interface is designed correctly so that just having more capacity doesn't affect discharge rate. It's always concerning when you have a tool that comes packed with some whatever battery, and putting a higher capacity battery on it improves performance. One of the fancy benefits of modern batteries is stable voltage, and yet so many things don't seem to actually have stable voltage.

I would like to see the toro ultro 260 electric blower tested for a baseline. It has been on the market for at least 10 years unchanged. It advertises 260mph, 340cfm so should also be a good test of mph vs cfm compared to the others. Are the battery ones better? Why would I spend 4 to 6 times the money to swing around a heavy battery?
