Supra MKV Trunk Latch Fix

Hey Mark: I have 2021 Supra GR Problem: Open trunk warning light would come for a minute and go away. In fact, the trunk was always locked. I tried your technique : Loosened the left and right screws. It worked!!, no more warning light. Great work Mark. thanks

Neat Solution and I now get how problem is caused and resolved , only the young lad at main agents did his homework and saw this video and enlightened me . (car had previously been in twice for same problem).

2:22 describes a90 supra ownership perfectly 🤣 ive seen people whip out their phones taking pictures lol. sadly as time goes on these cars are probably going to be seen more, that’s when im going to sell mine...great vid though. i thought i was the only one with this issue.

There's a fine line of raising the hatch to when it rains or car wash. It will leak.

Thanks! Does this change the alignment of the hatch? Is the hatch level with the fenders after adjustment? My OCD kicks in with little things like that...

I can't not get mine to open at all. The button on the door does not open it, fob does not work either. I had my son crawl in and pull the emergency handle and it does not work either. Any suggestions?

Do all supras come with the trunk matt that says supra?

I tried this, didn’t work. Started to push up the lid too much screwing out too far and misaligned with the body. Oh well.

I wonder if we can use this trunk issue as a price negotiation tactic? 🤔 Complain that a 50-60k car can’t have its trunk open via the door button...

My 2012 Audi TT did this and also has no outside trunk release and opens the exact same way. Only with the key fob or door button. Why is this such a big deal? Many German cars have been this way for years. It's nothing new! I actually prefer it this way. Who wants an ugly, unsightly key hole button on the back of their trunk? That would make it look dated and ruin the smooth exterior.
