my brothers civic goes 210 in 3 seconds on the 1/4. it needs 4 parachutes on the back and he wears a helmet, his civic is SCARY FAST much faster than the piece of shit slow supra in this worthless video. he also uses premium gas and a custom hood cause the engine is so godly massive, and yes his mufflers are high performance that make a deep sound that when he drives it at shakes windows and sets off car alarms. mustangs,camaros,350z/370z, firebirds,corvettes are all too scared to race him.
Actually... Drag racing is for pro racers who actually know how to drive, you think it's all straight and all on power, well no, it's not. It's more on grip aswell, drag racing is a straight line, so you'll be going extremely fast. At that speed you can jump off the road. You need to be a pro driver just to keep your car on the road. Heavier cars with big torque are most likely to stay on the road and win, the supra, however was lucky. I may be young, but I know alot about cars.
You are a little confused as to why people can run stiffer springs on a drag strip to get better traction during launch. Stiffer springs allow a quicker weight transfer to the rear tyres, which gets the car launching quicker. Obviously the rate ratio front to rear and directional damping has to be correct. To much weight transfer can actually cause problems so the right amount of weight transfer at the right rate is key to low et. It has nothing to do with soft shocks not transfering weight.

raised rear creates oversteer, puts weight on front wheels allowing back to come unglued easier, and causing front to hold pavement better, how does that create understeer? last time i checked, the definitiion of oversteer is rear coming around sideways while front maintains traction, you obviously dont know the definition s of oversteer and understeer. im a mechanical engineer, trust me, i know things

And ya I know what it feels like to be in a car making huge amounts of power. My uncle builds cars he has a 71 camaro making around 500whp and a 50's truck(forgot what year) but hes making over 700whp. neither are daily drivers. But they're quick cars for sure I love them.

Actually SRT- # is dodges performance model of any specific car they put it on. SRT=street and racing technology and the number is for the number of cylinders..A SRT-4 dodge neon is just a model of the neon they did..like they make a challenger SRT-8 a viper SRT-10 etc...etc

a dragcar's rear does not compress, the front extends. shows how much you know. anyways, as ive said, in the racing that matters, turning is unnecessary. obviously you must think that an old school gasser has oversteer, when i can tell you right now, they have the worst understeer of all vehicles
other cars need to corner faster because they're playing catch-up after each straightaway. also, muscle actually corners very well if you know how to drive it, the snap oversteer can be your worst enemy or your best friend, its just a matter of knowing how to use it

So did the Buggati Veyron and the Lexus LFA... The NSX-R is still one of the most balanced car's you can buy. Not everything is about straight line speed. Honda's were built to be nimble cars not hwy monsters.

most american cars aren't very good anymore (they're all automatic and slow, and just plain ugly/ too expensive since it's got all the features girls want such as A/C and rear end cameras for backing up) (that being said i'd still drive american before i'd ever dream of an import) the only things that are worth driving (at least the only things i'd ever drive) are american (mostly chevy ;P) trucks, and older muscle cars. those are the only decent looking cars, and they sound and drive nice.

they dont collapse, there is a lot of power put to the back tires, so much that it puches the back end of the car to the ground compressing the tires. thats why the tires look like they collapse.

tired pressure, super warm and good setup of suspension a good setup will hug the ground. i seen a few supra too stiff or too soft suspension bounce and it doesnt take off that well.

The lower tire pressure (4-7psi) causes the tire to wrinkle and double or triple the normal contact patch of the tire. Watch some slo mo videos of top fuel and you can see this better.

@FuryOfTyphone the FDs accelerate hard. But they aren't super cars. It's all about the top end and how fast you get there. I love my FD, but it has its limits.

depends on the setup. i own one too and mine sits high in the rear so it oversteers. also the track they call home is a straight line so turning is irrelevant
