it was the nuke launchers that killed him in the end. they have thier own set of artillery built into them. they are also the most piercing artillery in the game which is why he died so fast even though he was hunkered.
Does nobody that plays this game understand the importance of mass conversion? You can have a self sustaining economy with the cybran with just energy. Start with 5 research and the rest into power generators
If it's a small map, if you go straight for mass conversion you will be rushed and killed before you even get to the conversion. If it is a large 4v4 map, everyone uses it.
@@11darklight11 Me and my brother use mass conversion exclusive economies. We sadly play on console, so we don't get a lot of the units and structures pc does. Glitches are also rampant on the console, glitches so bad it's like using cheats for infinite resources. Regardless of this my brother is still #1 in the world, using mass conversion centric gameplay
@@MrJonnybgood619 He might be number one, but it's a game of rock, paper, scissors. That strategy might be strong, but if you use it every game you become predictable to another player.

my friend had 15 distruptor stations in a row with engineering towers and i had 9 long range and 5 distruptor stations and the enimes never built sheilds they just built artillery one of them texted me and said oh shit...
Because 9/10 times there is jack shit to do about it. Even if you spam like 20 shields, any decent amount of artillery will thwart it. Although it is possible to use air to specifically target the artillery, if the enemy has any sense of foresight they will have made preparations against that.
@@spawnof200 he mentioned that the fastest way to stop it is to spam air, but the arty player prolly has AA set up anyways. Learn to read before putting your dumb ideas in
@@spawnof200 ehh doc arty spam is the same wherever you go. For example in RA (specially open ra) even if you have mammoth tanks the mammoths lose out to allied arty if you have like 10 or 12 of them. You lose your infantry pretty much instantly, you lose your light vehicles if they get caught in the fire and even your heavy tanks get wrecked. An even if your light vehicles and tanks somehow survive you still need to go through the rocket troops and their tanks.
@Gerben van Straaten(using RA as an example and counter argument) 1) the allied arty shoots faster than the Soviet arty. Much faster. The v2 has a long reload and only slightly greater range. 2) a common tactic is to hide arty behind a wall of flak and other defenses. Why? Because arty is expensive and is a tier 2 unit in RA. 3) A large group of tanks is not gonna get through a wall of turrets, their tanks, and their AT infantry any time soon. Made only worse by the near constant barrage and output of fire the arty has. 4) this means you literally have to build a bunch of yaks and hope one suicides into the arty. The issue? Each and every yak is twice as expensive as the arty. 5) the problems with arty is balance issues not the players.
I remember I played as cybran and I was in the 3vs 1 map and I rushed rexes and I pushed all 3 back to the furthest base and it was a standstill for like 2 hours I had a constant stream of rexes and those mega things and they had a god awful amount of defense I ended up building more nukes than they could and then were using glitches while I was legit it was a fun time. Also i once played with pickle
There is really no good way to retaliate against artillery on this type of map. Sure you can go air, but a whole unit cap can be wiped out if your defenses are good enough. I play as the UEF and use all of my buildings as a defense against every attack, but shield generators are weak AF. The amount of artillery like this guy had is enough to rip through practically anything you have coming to counter attack with or your set up defenses. There's practically no way to do it, unless you have a navy which is mobile artillery and fire nearly as fast. You can use counter artillery against the one person, but that will bring you to a standstill. Nukes work if you have enough to punch through a defense, but they cost a shiz load.
Well some people know how to make it work these people are 'pro rushers' and they are VERY pro they are competent even late game as they usually build far spread out bases few nuke def and are very hard to kill late game as they build massive land experimental armies or air on occasion... Sadly these people in the video are not very pro and kind of suck I agree.

Experimentals do have loads of health, and certain ones dish out loads of damage, but they take to long to build and typically cost to much to build at a stage such as the 10 minute mark in the video. The artillery dishes out to much damage for even a group of shields to coprehend, and once the shields are gone, your base is gone. It doesn't matter how big your base is, it matters whether or not you can hit back and counter attack just as hard as the one guy that is hitting you. That's the whole point of a RTS game, you are meant to counter and push against the enemy and win, not build a ton of artillery and sit back and watch the enemys scramble around barely survive. If your friend had to build a godly amount of shields, to even stay relevant in the match if it wasn't a 1v1, he should of just quit unless he was managing to hit back. Nukes, navy units and experimentals are the best way to counter artillery. They can't be countered themselves very easily, but are the best choices due to their health, or damage output.
I am like this.... My friend asked me to get this game so i can play with him. It didn't take him long for him to say that he never wants to play with me again.
when ever i play this map i make rush to make a 3-4 stack wall of turrets put them under shields then build about 3 times as much artillery as Andros made and i just let them fire wildly at what ever they want until i get bored
I almost forgot about this game, now i miss playing it. I made an army of walking ships, my friends got confused about why i did it. I did it because i found it funny.
why thank you and i have a question I have sc 2 for PC but I haven't done multiplayer are glitches used or not(in xbox you can barely last 2-5 minutes without glitches
When the game first launched, you had to have the mass reserves before you could queue up, but everyone complained it was BS and totally different to Sup Comm 1 (and Total Annihilation) that they changed it back to the 'old' queue system which is way better meaning you can do what you said.
Is PC harder than Xbox 360? Because me and my friends often go against cheating AI and win. Sometimes we get bored and nuke each other. Max I've had is 59 heavy artillery playing the UEF
