42:15 ‘That was basically an open goal’ as someone who goes for tons of air snipes, this perfectly described the feeling of catching a com out in the open with no nearby aa, it’s just begging to be killed.
@@EricDMMiller SMD is at least a major investment - a stack of t2 SAMs under your shields is pretty damn cheap in the mid-late game, and if you've lost air control it becomes non-optional.
DonGringo should give himself some more credit. Sure, he spent the entire game being a chewtoy for higher ranked players, but by golly he kept them distracted long enough for his team to establish their eco and infrastructure. From my (limited) experience, in team games, whether you win or lose is often less relevant than how *quickly* you win or lose. Also, even if you aren't that great of a player, you can add a lot of value by adding situational awareness. A lot of plays, and even com kills, could have been prevented with a simple ping. If a team had a spectator that could do nothing but chat, ping, and watch the map, that spectator would be a sizeable advantage.
A big enough block of gunships is a game ender. A big block of cruisers on a central pond map is enough to give you an advantage, it's then down to how much advantage you take of that advantage.
The 'Broadsword rush' often leads to victory. They're just so powerful and so tanky. Building more T3 sams doesn't always do much since the Broadswords can practically destroy them all in a split second as they sweep through. Calling them cheesy or unbalanced is perhaps going a bit too far, since they do require quite an investment, but you can see why it must be frustrating for the losing team.
The problem is the actual interesting ones at low rank are very far and few between, quite often there are lulls in action where nothing happens but a cold war while both sides build up. Getting fights with constant/interesting action, or with a back and forth or comeback kind of event are hard enough to find at higher ranks, even more so at the lower end. Higher ranked players have higher APM, which leads to more things happening and more interesting fights.
So many times, so many times forgetting about air defenses results in sudden loss. Just one T3 engineer building SAMs for 20 minutes all around the place would have completely stopped this...
Let this be a reminder to scatter static air defense batteries around your territory boys and girls - especially when you don't have air control. Though honestly team 1 could have just dunked their coms in the lake once they had hard control of it.
haha it being cheese makes sense from the perspective of two gentlemen engaging in honorable warfare, where you're meant to duke it out properly, in the expected fashion. As it were.
not cheesy, Nahsinka really didn't take over well and dominate with air.. Way too much over looking of air coverage. Not enough pushing down the left hand side. Looked weak, died weakly, reverted back to childhood and cried lots.
I don't know if the FAF team has any involvement with the SSB dev (I know it's been forked a couple of times), but I'd really like it if on the SSB, there is a little paintbrush icon next to each team where a caster could pick out a brighter color for each team. Oftentimes the dark purple and dark red for example are really really hard to see and make out names.
Does the volcano only attract 1 missile at a time now? If you could create a hybrid race of any 2 factions, what would they be? and which commander would you choose from those factions?
They didn't ignore air in "every way imaginable." They had ASF but lost the air war. Now I'm not excusing them for not building SAMs though... or T3 Anti-Air Land.
I mean what does he expect? To spend another 30 minutes building an army of GCs? Nothing wrong with killing someone with air and nothing cheesy about it. Now if he built Stealth and Tac Missile Launchers on the other side of the map, THAT would have been cheesy.@@youtubeforcinghandlessucks
No way that was cheese Nasimka just got boned and didn't pay attention to his air production. Thought he was golden with the Naval advantage and didn't bother to shield his air production. Derpy af 😂
30:00 - you don't see him playing a role in this game? he singlehandedly took franzibald out of the game, while that franz commited all his eco to defeat dongringos base, and that base stood strong the last 30 minutes. and even if he finishes gringos base, his eco is wasted on that fleet in the pond, which now can do nothing more, than deny the other two a quick line arround the base... while the other 2 on team 2 have all the time in the world to take care of Nasimka.. and just a few moments earlier you wondered why team 2 has so much more eco than team 1...
Ok. What if you take the focus cam from the campange only for observers. Means every time a Commander dies you will auto focus on him? You can send this to FAF ! Have a nice day sir or madams!
24:00 I'm just going to guess right here that Team 2 wins it, they're letting Geneva run away with eco and while the navy play is nice and all I don't see team 1 capitalizing on that water win.
The play here was put your coms in the pond guys, grubbling cause you let the enemy do an end run , skill issue. Easily said by me iv not played sup com for years
Well earned loss for team 1. If you have mapcontrol and better resources, there is no excuce, if cant produce a sufficient amount of air defence - stationary and mobile - and fortify your position with it. There was no "cheese" here. Just bad play at the end from team 1 and team 2 did spot this big weakpoint in time.
getting real tired of teams throwing games away purely cause they aren't scouting or paying attention to what advantages the enemy has and making counter measures to it like ground based anti-air when they were down air for almost the entire game.
